I can't imagine any time in the future when I would ever return to this place. Here's why. I echo Katie and Angela. On our way home from a concert in Turlock, I suggested we try the Ono Hawaiian place in south Ceres. We came in; no one greeted us, so we went to the digital ordering system. I input my order: the fire chicken with mac, rice, and mixed veggies. My wife put in a fish dish with her sides. We paid and sat down. Twenty minutes later, we noticed that people who had come in and ordered after us were served and gone (they did not order online, came in and ordered, waited, got their meals, and left), so I went up to the counter, and since no one was paying attention (again), I had to call out to get someone to wait on me. He came over and I told him what we ordered and that we had been waiting. I had also noticed that my wife's was on the bill, but my Fire Chicken had disappeared. I had ordered it first. He seemed confused from the outset, took notes on what I was saying, crossed out my wife's order, and put in another order, this time for just my part (he left out hers completely). Here we are, two people, with two orders placed, sitting, waiting. A few minutes later (now it was 30+ past when we ordered), they called our number. My wife went to get it, and after we unpacked it at our table, we noticed that hers was indeed missing. I went over to the counter and again, since no one was attending, got a young lady's attention and tried to explain the deficiency, to which she responded, "I didn't wait on you." I said, but you people forgot my wife's order, to which she replied, "I didn't wait on you." This reflects badly on her manager, for clearly he didn't train her and on her lack of understanding that she works with a team. Yelp prompts me to comment on the "ambiance," which I would say is "detached" and "unaware." We asked for a bag, took what was left of the order, went to Panda on the other side of the parking lot, got a fine meal for my wife, and told ourselves we would never come back to Ono Hawaiian Ceres again. There are so many better options nearby; skip Ono Hawaiian (maybe it's so called because when they screw up, you say, "Oh no"). For us, if a friend mentions this place, we will say, "Oh no," and tell them our story. read more

I have never been a fan of Ono Hawaiian BBQ. The only thing I liked the other night was the crispy shrimp. However, I told my family if we go there again, I would want to bring mayo. They don't have any sauce I like. I shared a photo of the mini surfboard signs that were near the sauce. Cute set up! The mac salad was ok. The broccoli was not soft enough for me to eat, even though I requested them to steam it extra long (for it to be soft enough). The customer service was terrible! The girl who took our order wasn't friendly or helpful. If I went back it wouldn't be for me. read more

The service was good but only giving them 4 stars only because of this build up from the hand dryer how dirty it will get. Restroom did look nice and clean compared to how other fast food restaurants are and doesn't keep up with their cleaning of the restroom. read more

We've been here too often because our kitchen isn't functional at the moment. They've been great so far and we're hoping we haven't ran the course for our good fortune. Idk what else to say but that the only thing that's stopping me from giving 5 stars is that the steamed veggies are too crunchy but I still like them. read more

Very rude employee I ask for a small container because I had a little bit of food left , the employee told me I can't give it to you because you didn't order a family meal she tried giving me a flat plate like hello First and last time I'm there I'll be taking my hunger somewhere else. read more

if you're hoping to enjoy some food, don't bother coming here because by the time you get your food, you probably won't enjoy it because of how long you waited. every single time I've been here it takes minimum of 30 minutes to get my food whether it's busy or not I'm not sure if management doesn't make it a point that timeliness is a big part of the experience because it's been this way since the very beginning. I enjoy the food but every time I am disappointed by the amount of time it takes to get one plate of food read more

I feel like it's a franchise thing, 4 years ago another location failed to give me katsu sauce with my katsu chicken and I was 6-7 months pregnant and was craving it.. I cried and didn't eat it..and today I made sure to ask for the sauce because for some reason you need to ask for it when it comes with the meal... and I still didn't get it.. I'm a sauce girl and the meal is not the same without sauce, and it's supposed to come with it!! Do better with supplying sauce for your meals that come with it.. read more

The food is good. But it is salty and I wouldn't recommend this for anybody on a low salt diet. Nice size portions if you're a big eater.

Good food , the drive thru was a breeze. The staff were very pleasant and my food was great ! Clean drive thru and it looks cute inside . But it's a nice area so the vibe is very safe . read more

I don't usually write reviews but last night we drove 40 minutes to eat at Ono. We walked in at 8:30PM and we were not greeted but told straight out we only taking to go orders you can't sit and eat here. They close at 9PM. I understood they probably would like to go home on time and not stay after hours. The restaurant and drive through was super busy. The cashier was super rude. I didn't get a name but the name on the receipt is Aaron. If you do not like your job don't work there. I work in customer service and I would never treat anything like that. I tried to make small talk with him and he ignored me at the register while I was paying. You could tell he did not want to be there at all. Besides that our food was delicious fresh and so yummy! Please treat your customers right and keep them coming back. As our town doesn't have an Ono. read more

Ono Hawaiian BBQ - Me starving for chicken teriyaki - Hawaiian Near Me - Ceres, California

Another Hawaiian location in the Ceres area! If you know Ono Hawaiian BBQ, then you know it's a popular Hawaiian food chain that has delicious food. This particular location definitely delivers in service and food, which deserves a notable 5-stars. I called this location to see if they were open and turns out they had their Grand Opening on July 7th. I MISSED IT!! I was pretty bummed, but on the phone was my savior, Kristina. She told me to swing by and request for her by name. I do so and she gives me the coupons that I missed out on! LIKE WHAT??! I was very baffled and not sure if this was allowed for me to take, but she assured me it was fine and that they WANT customers to have these in order to try out their menu. At this new establishment, Kristina took the time to provide me with excellent service. She was professional, kind, and fun who embodies amazing work ethic and dedication to customer service. Not only just her, but the observations I made I came to realize that everyone was working very hard. From wiping down tables, taking new orders, cooking/prepping from the kitchen I saw everyone was focused, but still interacting and having fun. I can tell this is a good environment to be around. I ordered two plates to-go. The Hawaiian BBQ Chicken Plate and the Hawaiian BBQ Beef Plate. Each lunch plate includes two scoops of white rice, one scoop of macaroni salad, and veggies (broccoli and cabbage). From my knowledge with other locations you can substitute the scoops around to your liking so I assume it will be the same here. To my liking, everything tasted great! The beef and chicken were cooked perfectly at the right temperature and very moist. No dryness for me with the meats and the rice was cooked well as well. The vegetables are a nice touch to balance out the oiliness of the meats. This location is brand new and has seating both in- and outside. With plenty of seating to accommodate parties you can see the workers cooking everything fresh to order at all angles. Did I mention how they have a drive-thru? This is a spot that I can see be a favorite for the locals around to relax and enjoy their lunch/dinner. I also like the open concept here with big windows so you can see the outside. Now, is this going to remind you of Hawaii? Maybe or maybe not. Regardless, the food is still tasty, plentiful, and the price is affordable. read more

Should have looked at other reviews before eating here. Hawaiian beef flavorless and full of gristle, tough as can be. The veggies are in huge pieces you cannot eat and no knives in restaurant to cut it down. To top all that off it's way overpriced. I'd like a refund if the business owner reads these. $18 for tough flavour less meat and inedible vegetables. I've had far more tender packaged beef jerky. read more

Ono Hawaiian BBQ - Gristle and cabbage lunch. - Hawaiian Near Me - Ceres, California

Great place to grab lunch/dinner at, staff is very friendly and attentive. Greeted immediately upon entering which was nice. Any questions I had about the menu were promptly answered. Since everything is cooked fresh(at least the Fire Chicken I order) I don't mind waiting a bit(recommend ordering inside). Extra marks to Aron was his name I believe - I saw him working exceptionally fast and efficiently. Food was hot and bomb dot com! I'll be back for more Fire Chicken! read more

They jacked up their prices again, and they are now serving just a slab and half less of chicken -with the bbq chicken order. That's just infuriating when you get home and that missing slab isn't there. This is the last time I'm eating with ono. Just jacking up prices for no reason and cutting out food is idiotic. It's like the teriyaki house down the road. Their double order of chicken was $8. Now, $14. I haven't ate at that place for months. read more

30 minutes in the drive thru to do a pick up. If you order on line walk in. Your food is gonna hard and cold because of the extra long wait. Not sure why they don't park people but just make you wait 30 minutes for your order. No apology for the long wait times either. 2 stars is probably too good for this location. read more

Worst Ono experience. I will make the extra drive into Turlock. First plate would've been fine if the katsu wasn't hard and chewy like jerky, the second plate was just disappointing not even a full scoop of rice and Mac was spread across my plate to look fuller but barely looked like a full scoop when pushed together. Overall $30 for just these two plates the portions are disappointing. read more

Worst ono I have ever been to. The drive thru wait is always 30+ minutes even if you are the only person in line. I had to explain to employees multiple times that I wanted a regular coke not diet and they didn't understand what regular meant even after explaining it. To then give me three diet cokes, instead of the other drinks that I actually ordered. And one of the employees was standing right next to the drive thru window taking selfies. Super unprofessional, wasted my entire lunch. read more

I've gone to this location on two different occasions and each time I waited in the drive-through for 3 to 4 minutes before anyone even greeted me. I almost took 12 minutes to get my food after the order was placed, and the staff was very un polite and unpleasant today was my second time going there. I waited at the speaker repeatedly said hello no response I drive up to the window and they're all standing inside talking. They all looked out the window at me yet again no one bothered to address me or find out my concern was so I just drove away. I'm now heading to the one in Turlock where I always get great service but the one in Ceres I would not recommend. read more

Complete incompetent crew tonight tried to hand us someone else's order then gave us attitude about it then did the same to the person behind us. 1st of all it took the 5 min to answer us in the drive thru because they were goofing off inside.. 945pm 3/25/2025 read more

I called to order catering for 17 people. I asked if they provide plates and utensils and was told that the store would provide both. I arrived to pick up my order and was told they don't have plates. I told Camilla that the man who took my order when I pressed the option for catering orders assured me the store would provide plates and utensils and she told me no one would tell me that. I told her he absolutely did otherwise I would have stopped to get them and now I don't have time. She kept arguing and telling me no one told me that. I told her there was no point arguing and I need something for the office to scoop the food onto and asked for to go containers instead. She said no, she can't do that. I asked for a manager or owner and she said she was the manager. I told her she needed to make it right since her company told me I would be provided with plates and she has a very simple solution to give me to go boxes. She said she would get in trouble and again called me a liar saying no one told me I would get plates. She also kept leaving the counter and hiding behind the corner. I asked her who she will get in trouble with since she is the manager and she walked away and hid again. She was incredibly rude and unprofessional. They also forgot to give me the salad dressing for the giant salad tray I ordered so that went in the trash and no one ate it. The other employees were just staring and snickering. It would have been so easy to just provide to go containers when I ordered around $400 of their food and was told I would be provided plates by their company. Horrible customer service and I will happily spend my money ANYWHERE else in the future and I order A LOT of catering. I also asked Camilla for a customer service number and she told me no and to look it up myself. read more

Ordered ahead on the app and arrived about the time it was due to be ready. Pulled into the drive thru and was greeted right away then asked to wait. While waiting, 3 cars were serviced before we decided to pull forward to the window. We could hear a 4th car in the other drive thru start to be serviced before the truck behind us. When we got to the window it was explained what had happened and that we had an app order. The young woman in the window replied, "it's okay." She was referring to us pulling forward, but there was no acknowledgement of their poor service. No apology. Nothing. She quickly grabbed our food and we were on our way. The food is okay, but I certainly have no desire to return. read more

Went there the day they opened. It was buy 1 get one free. Got a combo plate and chicken plate. This was the first time trying a so-called "Hawaiian" establishment. I was surprised. The food tasted good, fresh and made to order. They gave me a coupon booklet, which I will use when I go again. read more

Service was poor. It's very inconsistent when going on different occasions. It's really simple, if you've underperformed in your customer service, simply apologize for the inconvenience, mean it and take care of your customer. It's your job to serve, not get defensive when you've made a mistake. Do better. A 2 star rating because the food is good. read more

We arrived 10 min before closing and they said they couldnt do 3 different meats on the menu cause they need to do their closing duties. This is so wrong. If you are open, you should serve everything on the menu. We got there just before they closed because me daughter just finished a volleyball game and she wanted bbq. We went to the one off countryside one time and we thought they closed at 10pm. They actually closed at 9pm. We showed up at 8:58pm and they fired up the grill and made what we ordered. We apologized right after we noticed that they were going to close and the guy in the front said, "No worries. If we are open, we will serve you." That is what customer service is. Not like this Ono. This Ono had hella workers too. The other one only had about 4 and still got our food out read more

It's always a hassle ordering at the drive thru here. You literally need to repeat your order at least three times for them to understand.

First of all the bathroom is disgusting there was a mess on the floor and the sink. The floor needed a sweep and a mop. Then out food was sitting there cold. When I went to go pick up the girl with the curly hair handed me my order and she was rude. Her attitude was shitty and I was irritated. If she's the manager there needs to be change. She was stressing she had a whole lobby but that's not my fault?? She doesn't have to be shitty about the situation. Never coming back here again. read more

I ordered grilled chicken and selected teriyaki sauce. Got home, discovered it was lemon pepper. Returned to Ono couldn't find parking. I told the lady at the register and she asked to see the food. I cannot eat the lemon pepper it burns my mouth. It took my original chicken approx. 15 min. to cook. Left to find parking. Returned and a man delivered a bag to me. Got home, it was the original chicken with the lemon pepper plus a little teriyaki sauce. That was my first time at Ono and my last. read more

I don't know who runs this place, but it is not being ran correctly. Literally took 45 minutes to get through the drive-through that is unheard of too bad I don't have a 4 x 4 if not, I would've drove through all the plants to get out of the place. Literally still waiting for my food here. I got here yesterday at 6 PM and still haven't received anything. I don't know what's going on. in conclusion, this place needs to have proper training for the drive-through. read more

Terrible service. Ordered 30 minutes ahead and still had to wait 30 minutes in the store. Won't return.

The customer service is really really bad here. Usually we come for some good food but usually the workers aren't friendly and don't make us feel welcome. There was also a mouse scaling the wall next to their trash can. It was honestly pretty disgusting to watch. I asked for my bbq chicken well done for two plates an hour before closing with no other customers in line and they didn't do that. I also asked for water which they forgot. Overall the experience was really really bad. I don't hope to return to this specific location as I never have issues with the one in Turlock. read more

23 minutes in the drive thru with only 2 cars in front of me.... The food was great but they took a long time for a mini meal :/
