    Chicken Katsu to go
    Agnes C.

We stopped by on a drive from the Bay Area to Merced County for Chicken Katsu. Service was great and portion size is generous. The place was packed! Food cooked to perfection

    My receipt and time stamp

I don't usually write reviews but last night we drove 40 minutes to eat at Ono. We walked in at 8:30PM and we were not greeted but told straight out we only taking to go orders you can't sit and eat here. They close at 9PM. I understood they probably would like to go home on time and not stay after hours. The restaurant and drive through was super busy. The cashier was super rude. I didn't get a name but the name on the receipt is Aaron. If you do not like your job don't work there. I work in customer service and I would never treat anything like that. I tried to make small talk with him and he ignored me at the register while I was paying. You could tell he did not want to be there at all. Besides that our food was delicious fresh and so yummy! Please treat your customers right and keep them coming back. As our town doesn't have an Ono.

    Gristle and cabbage lunch.

Should have looked at other reviews before eating here. Hawaiian beef flavorless and full of gristle, tough as can be. The veggies are in huge pieces you cannot eat and no knives in restaurant to cut it down. To top all that off it's way overpriced. I'd like a refund if the business owner reads these. $18 for tough flavour less meat and inedible vegetables. I've had far more tender packaged beef jerky.

WORST ONO's EVER!! Too much to list but every bad review here is spot on. The food is good if you're lucky enough to ever get it.

It's always a hassle ordering at the drive thru here. You literally need to repeat your order at least three times for them to understand.

Come early or you get stuck in the heat. Orrrrr you end up not getting anything. The hours of operation are hard to nail down. Basically show up at 11 or you might not get food. Also days are the end of the week. The Brisket Sandwich - If this was the only thing I ordered this bbq would have been a 7 out of 5 stars. Hands down the best brisket I've ever had. Cowboy Corn - good corn, kinda like elote. I could have eaten it with chips. Needs a little more spice. Corn bread - warm and delicious. We got an edge. Ooohhh ahhhh. A little crisped. Definitely should be served with butter and honey though. Combo - Chicken - good seasoning, better with the sauce. Pulled pork - not salted. Definitely needs sauce when you enjoy. Mac and cheese - muah. Chef kiss. I'm not a big fan of mac and this stuff had me tempted to take it all for myself. Potato salad - excellent flavor good care. Red potatoes. Cooked to perfection. They definitely need to be cut into a little smaller pieces and boiled with a little saltier water. They were large bites that the dressing couldn't get all the way around. BBQ Sauce - I loved it. Thought it was great. With that being said I need to acknowledge it was spicy. My wife was on the edge and I would serve it to the kids. I'll be back!

They've got two picnic tables under tents and a small parking lot (about 10-12 spots), plus plenty of additional parking just across the street within easy walking distance. I ordered the 2-meat combo ($25) with brisket and ribs, choosing collard greens and baked beans for my sides. My wife ordered the tri-tip sandwich with yams and baked beans. They were cool enough to sell me a 1-meat plate instead of forcing the combo, which saved me a few bucks--and I appreciated that. There's a $1 credit card fee, which didn't bother me at all. My wife loved her meal and said it was a lot of food and everything tasted great. My brisket had a nice bark and a legit smoke ring. The ribs were tender and fell right off the bone. The baked beans were solid, but the collard greens really stood out--some of the best I've had at a restaurant. Prices are average for BBQ, portions are generous, and I had enough left over for dinner later. You can tell this is real BBQ--they've got a huge BBQ pit smoking meats, and it shows in the flavor. The BBQ sauce was very good. The two guys working inside were friendly, answered all my questions, and made ordering easy. Highly recommend. I'll definitely be back.

This worked fine for us. We had our menus and drinks in a reasonable time, and had a relaxing time throughout. We both had the pulled pork sandwich along with the ice tea. I also had the cup of chili - nicely spiced). I enjoyed my sandwich (skipping the bun, as I am trying to limit carbs). My friend, whom I realized often fusses about the meals we share, was more critical. His comments were "Wrong bun, hamburger bun shoulda been an onion bun" and "How long does it take to make a sandwich?" (The wait time was totally reasonable to me.) He didn't like the potato salad (but ate it all with little time spared). He liked the meat in the sandwich, giving it a 5 out of 5. He liked the service less (I felt it was on point and just fine.) The twisted pig is a good place to eat, if it is noisy inside (as it often is) check out the patio.

The flavors and combinations of how they made their sauce for the brussels sprouts. The little bit of cheese, the roasting, just perfectly. Those Brussels spouts were man. Oh, man, so so good. I mean, I was surprised there were any left at the end of lunch because they were so good. Then there was the deep fried pickles. Pickles are just something that you have to either love Em or you hate Em. But deep fried pickles are just that sour taste that I just have to have. I have to have a sweet and a sour and pickles are just that for us. So we enjoyed them. They were just crispy enpugh on the outside with just a nice firm bite of the pickle, tender. And then that bitterness was really good. And then our main meal came, and there is enough food on that platter for two people to share. So if you're getting it for one, you better be a hearty guy like you gotta be a lumberjack guy to eat this all by yourself. Because this is like a platterful. There is like 6 ribs on that plate, 2 mouds of the pulled pork, 2 big huge scoops of macaroni n cheese and like a bag of those tater tots, then they drizzle, drizzle, drizzle, barbecue sauce. All over it, it was just like mouthwatering. When it hit the table. It smelled so good, it was just amazing. And then we just dove in a little bit, tried this a little bit of that, the ribs fell off the bone. It was so good. Now the restaurant is small and looks like it is a locals kinda spot so it is semi loud with sports and men chopping it up, but there were ladies sitting at various tables and a couple of families so it is semi family friendly if you dont mind the bar aspect that is bigger than the eating area in my opinion. We only seen one staff member on the floor and one behind the bar while we were there, but the service was quick and the ladies were attentive so it was a good experience. The decor needs an update and it had a 4 out of 5 vibe for me, but I rate food not people so I would go back for that.

What is the point of the loyalty rewards app if the people ringing you up don't know how to give you the points? No plates or utensils were given for our party tray. The chicken definitely needed the sauces. Without the sauces it's really bland. We had to stop at a store to buy plates, utensils, and sauces which was really annoying. Definitely will consider this when planning to get more food from here again. The second visit was very underwhelming to say the least.
