The food is good. But it is salty and I wouldn't recommend this for anybody on a low salt diet. Nice size portions if you're a big eater.

I can't imagine any time in the future when I would ever return to this place. Here's why. I echo Katie and Angela. On our way home from a concert in Turlock, I suggested we try the Ono Hawaiian place in south Ceres. We came in; no one greeted us, so we went to the digital ordering system. I input my order: the fire chicken with mac, rice, and mixed veggies. My wife put in a fish dish with her sides. We paid and sat down. Twenty minutes later, we noticed that people who had come in and ordered after us were served and gone (they did not order online, came in and ordered, waited, got their meals, and left), so I went up to the counter, and since no one was paying attention (again), I had to call out to get someone to wait on me. He came over and I told him what we ordered and that we had been waiting. I had also noticed that my wife's was on the bill, but my Fire Chicken had disappeared. I had ordered it first. He seemed confused from the outset, took notes on what I was saying, crossed out my wife's order, and put in another order, this time for just my part (he left out hers completely). Here we are, two people, with two orders placed, sitting, waiting. A few minutes later (now it was 30+ past when we ordered), they called our number. My wife went to get it, and after we unpacked it at our table, we noticed that hers was indeed missing. I went over to the counter and again, since no one was attending, got a young lady's attention and tried to explain the deficiency, to which she responded, "I didn't wait on you." I said, but you people forgot my wife's order, to which she replied, "I didn't wait on you." This reflects badly on her manager, for clearly he didn't train her and on her lack of understanding that she works with a team. Yelp prompts me to comment on the "ambiance," which I would say is "detached" and "unaware." We asked for a bag, took what was left of the order, went to Panda on the other side of the parking lot, got a fine meal for my wife, and told ourselves we would never come back to Ono Hawaiian Ceres again. There are so many better options nearby; skip Ono Hawaiian (maybe it's so called because when they screw up, you say, "Oh no"). For us, if a friend mentions this place, we will say, "Oh no," and tell them our story. read more

I have never been a fan of Ono Hawaiian BBQ. The only thing I liked the other night was the crispy shrimp. However, I told my family if we go there again, I would want to bring mayo. They don't have any sauce I like. I shared a photo of the mini surfboard signs that were near the sauce. Cute set up! The mac salad was ok. The broccoli was not soft enough for me to eat, even though I requested them to steam it extra long (for it to be soft enough). The customer service was terrible! The girl who took our order wasn't friendly or helpful. If I went back it wouldn't be for me. read more

I feel like it's a franchise thing, 4 years ago another location failed to give me katsu sauce with my katsu chicken and I was 6-7 months pregnant and was craving it.. I cried and didn't eat it..and today I made sure to ask for the sauce because for some reason you need to ask for it when it comes with the meal... and I still didn't get it.. I don't usually write reviews but last night we drove 40 minutes to eat at Ono. We walked in at 8:30PM and we were not greeted but told straight out we only taking to go orders you can't sit and eat here. They close at 9PM. I understood they probably would like to go home on time and not stay after hours. The restaurant and drive through was super busy. The cashier was super rude. I didn't get a name but the name on the receipt is Aaron. If you do not like your job don't work there. I work in customer service and I would never treat anything like that. I tried to make small talk with him and he ignored me at the register while I was paying. You could tell he did not want to be there at all. Besides that our food was delicious fresh and so yummy! Another Hawaiian location in the Ceres area! If you know Ono Hawaiian BBQ, then you know it's a popular Hawaiian food chain that has delicious food. This particular location definitely delivers in service and food, which deserves a notable 5-stars. I called this location to see if they were open and turns out they had their Grand Opening on July 7th. I MISSED IT!! I was pretty bummed, but on the phone was my savior, Kristina. She told me to swing by and request for her by name. I do so and she gives me the coupons that I missed out on! LIKE WHAT??! I was very baffled and not sure if this was allowed for me to take, but she assured me it was fine and that they WANT customers to have these in order to try out their menu. At this new establishment, Kristina took the time to provide me with excellent service. She was professional, kind, and fun who embodies amazing work ethic and dedication to customer service. Not only just her, but the observations I made I came to realize that everyone was working very hard. From wiping down tables, taking new orders, cooking/prepping from the kitchen I saw everyone was focused, but still interacting and having fun. I can tell this is a good environment to be around. I ordered two plates to-go. The Hawaiian BBQ Chicken Plate and the Hawaiian BBQ Beef Plate. Each lunch plate includes two scoops of white rice, one scoop of macaroni salad, and veggies (broccoli and cabbage). From my knowledge with other locations you can substitute the scoops around to your liking so I assume it will be the same here. To my liking, everything tasted great! The beef and chicken were cooked perfectly at the right temperature and very moist. No dryness for me with the meats and the rice was cooked well as well. The vegetables are a nice touch to balance out the oiliness of the meats. This location is brand new and has seating both in- and outside. With plenty of seating to accommodate parties you can see the workers cooking everything fresh to order at all angles. Did I mention how they have a drive-thru? This is a spot that I can see be a favorite for the locals around to relax and enjoy their lunch/dinner. I also like the open concept here with big windows so you can see the outside. Now, is this going to remind you of Hawaii? Maybe or maybe not. Regardless, the food is still tasty, plentiful, and the price is affordable. read more

Should have looked at other reviews before eating here. Hawaiian beef flavorless and full of gristle, tough as can be. The veggies are in huge pieces you cannot eat and no knives in restaurant to cut it down. To top all that off it's way overpriced. I'd like a refund if the business owner reads these. $18 for tough flavour less meat and inedible vegetables. I've had far more tender packaged beef jerky. read more

Great place to grab lunch/dinner at, staff is very friendly and attentive. Greeted immediately upon entering which was nice. Any questions I had about the menu were promptly answered. Since everything is cooked fresh(at least the Fire Chicken I order) I don't mind waiting a bit(recommend ordering inside). They jacked up their prices again, and they are now serving just a slab and half less of chicken -with the bbq chicken order. That's just infuriating when you get home and that missing slab isn't there. This is the last time I'm eating with ono. Just jacking up prices for no reason and cutting out food is idiotic. Worst ono I have ever been to. The drive thru wait is always 30+ minutes even if you are the only person in line. I had to explain to employees multiple times that I wanted a regular coke not diet and they didn't understand what regular meant even after explaining it. To then give me three diet cokes, instead of the other drinks that I actually ordered. And one of the employees was standing right next to the drive thru window taking selfies. I've gone to this location on two different occasions and each time I waited in the drive-through for 3 to 4 minutes before anyone even greeted me. I almost took 12 minutes to get my food after the order was placed, and the staff was very un polite and unpleasant today was my second time going there. I waited at the speaker repeatedly said hello no response I drive up to the window and they're all standing inside talking. They all looked out the window at me yet again no one bothered to address me or find out my concern was so I just drove away. I called to order catering for 17 people. I asked if they provide plates and utensils and was told that the store would provide both. I arrived to pick up my order and was told they don't have plates. I told Camilla that the man who took my order when I pressed the option for catering orders assured me the store would provide plates and utensils and she told me no one would tell me that. I told her he absolutely did otherwise I would have stopped to get them and now I don't have time. She kept arguing and telling me no one told me that. I told her there was no point arguing and I need something for the office to scoop the food onto and asked for to go containers instead. She said no, she can't do that. I asked for a manager or owner and she said she was the manager. I told her she needed to make it right since her company told me I would be provided with plates and she has a very simple solution to give me to go boxes. She said she would get in trouble and again called me a liar saying no one told me I would get plates. She also kept leaving the counter and hiding behind the corner. I asked her who she will get in trouble with since she is the manager and she walked away and hid again. She was incredibly rude and unprofessional. They also forgot to give me the salad dressing for the giant salad tray I ordered so that went in the trash and no one ate it. The other employees were just staring and snickering. It would have been so easy to just provide to go containers when I ordered around $400 of their food and was told I would be provided plates by their company. Horrible customer service and I will happily spend my money ANYWHERE else in the future and I order A LOT of catering. Ordered ahead on the app and arrived about the time it was due to be ready. Pulled into the drive thru and was greeted right away then asked to wait. While waiting, 3 cars were serviced before we decided to pull forward to the window. We could hear a 4th car in the other drive thru start to be serviced before the truck behind us. When we got to the window it was explained what had happened and that we had an app order. The young woman in the window replied, "it's okay." It's always a hassle ordering at the drive thru here. You literally need to repeat your order at least three times for them to understand.

First of all the bathroom is disgusting there was a mess on the floor and the sink. The floor needed a sweep and a mop. Then out food was sitting there cold. When I went to go pick up the girl with the curly hair handed me my order and she was rude. Her attitude was shitty and I was irritated. If she's the manager there needs to be change.
