I can't say enough good things about OnlyNails Studio! You can really tell that they prioritize quality and cleanliness. The space is modern and spotless, and I appreciate how well-maintained everything is. Sometimes, when I go to other places, I worry about whether their tools are properly sanitized, but I never have that concern here--they make cleanliness a top priority. I booked my appointment by messaging them on Instagram, and they responded quickly with their availability. I've been getting Gel-X nails here, and they're incredible! The strength of the Gel-X is impressive--they last me over 4 weeks with no chipping or lifting. Plus, they can do pretty much any design you can think of. I came in for a manicure and pedicure and the experience went downhill fast. I had red gel polish on previously and was switching to a neutral color. When the manicurist started painting my nails, I noticed she hadn't fully removed the old red polish. I politely pointed it out, and to be fair, the first time she did try to fix it. But once another customer walked in, everything started to go downhill. She became much more focused on trying to upsell that customer on additional services than on finishing mine. I felt completely disregarded, and the quality of the service dropped immediately. She rushed through everything, and when she started repainting, I had to tell her again that there was still red polish showing. Instead of handling it professionally, she became rude and defensive, saying this kind of thing happens when going from a dark color to a lighter one. Even if that were the case, why wouldn't she tell me that upfront before painting my nails? I would have happily picked a different color. Instead, she said nothing and then acted frustrated with me for pointing it out. For context, I've had countless manicures over the years, and every tech I've ever gone to has always been able to fully remove old gel polish before repainting. This has never been an issue anywhere else. In the photos you'll see, there is still red polish clearly underneath the new color on one hand, and on that same hand she didn't even apply a second coat. She did one thin coat, seemed visibly annoyed, and didn't finish. When I mentioned that I didn't feel I should have to pay for a manicure she didn't complete, she raised her voice and insisted I still needed to pay for her work. It was extremely uncomfortable and unprofessional. Not only was I unhappy with the service, I was charged full price for a manicure that wasn't even finished. I honestly left feeling kind of sad--she was genuinely mean to me. I've never had an experience like this at any salon. I won't be returning, and I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

Made an appt with Lonnie but ended up with Ivy. She caught my skin with the dremel twice as she seemed rushed and a bit distracted. There was no blood or anything, so I let it be. Slowly but surely I developed an infection. Went to urgent care this past Friday. $75 for copay. I was told to soak it in warm water and prescribed a prescription ointment. Going on three days later and it is still not improving. So, I will be going back to urgent care to possibly get it lanced. That will be another $75. So, my $55 + tip GelX will now cost me north of $200. It's f'd up. read more

The services were great as they always are but unfortunately, after spending $350 and 2 1/2 hours there I could not even relax a moment. There were three young teenage girls that came in one of those young teenage girls. Her father came in to pay for her nails and every other word out of her mouth was the F word. These girls sat there in front of my young daughter and talked for 2 1/2 hours about getting blackout trunk on the beach and having to go to the hospital. Having what is your body count? What is your body count? What is your boyfriend's body count. Calling one of these young boys on the telephone that they're on again off again boyfriends and threatening them if they didn't come pay for their nails. This went on for 2 1/2 hours. The every other word of the F bomb in front of my young child was so repulsively offensive. I don't know if this is a good place to come. One of the young girls that was there apparently comes with her grandmother, and if she's there again, the exact same thing will happen again. Businesses should be able to refuse service on actions. And just so all the parents including the father that came to pay for his daughter's nails they having a raging bonfire with a lot of alcohol tonight. On the beach" until the police come roll us and then we'll go to your house for an after party. All we have tell everyone is we have a big fat house on the beach with no parental supervision to have an after party". Good luck to those parents! I called in for a very last minute appointment and was extremely grateful for them being able to take me at 5:45. Upon arriving I was only one of two being that they were closing soon, but I had one of the best experiences I've had in a nail salon in a long time the four workers that were present were SUNNY DANIEL NICKY AND KIMMY and they were all amazing !! I see now why they have five stars! Sunny and Daniel were the ones that took care of my gel Mani and pedi and I was very happy They were able to do it that night being that I had an event to go to the next day. If I am ever in the local area I will come to this location again they were not only accommodating and professional, but extremely sweet and kind! This place is great! I made reservations a couple weeks prior for a group of 3...girls get away! The reservation process was easy! The day we arrived, we were a little early but they were ready for us! The place is so cute!! Decorated in a pale pink color and everything was clean and cute!! The chairs were big and comfy with a great massager. They sat us down quickly and got to work!! The selections for pedis is super cute. Everything is named after a beverage. I got the Midoro Sour which was amazing. It included a bath bomb, a scrub, a melon mask, paraffin dip and a foot massage. While I was getting my toes done, they asked if I would like to get a neck massage. HELLO?! YES PLEASE!! This young lady jumped behind my chair and gave me a great neck massage!! I thought I was going to fall asleep! Amazing!! The people working there were so friendly, sweet and did amazing work!! We all walked out of there relaxed and with beautiful feet!!! Thank you!! So so happy I found this amazing gem here in Laguna In love with how my nails turned out and their customer service is above and beyond!! I only had an hour to get a gel / gel-X mani-pedi and a wax, but they were on it right away and helped make it all happen while treating me so warmly! I also asked for white pearl french tips and Niki was so patient with me while I picked my colors and helped make sure I loved my design. The other woman who helped me (wish I could remember her name!!) was also very patient with me when I accidentally moved and messed up my nails, and insisted on fixing them so they all look beautiful. So even though I live in Pasadena, I've been making a weekly trek out to Laguna for self care and some exercise. I'd already been thinking that I needed to find a new nail salon because I wasn't happy with my local ones, and I stumbled across this one on Yelp. I've been twice now and even though it takes a chunk out of my time at the beach when I get my nails done, Daniel has done an amazing job each time. He takes his time, so be prepared to sit there for over an hour for the job to be done, but both times I have been extremely happy. I think I've found my new nail place, even if it means driving to Laguna for them. Worth the drive- and the prices are even less than my less-stellar salon in Pasadena! read more

I have lived in Laguna Beach for over 10 years and this is absolutely the worse nail salon in town. I was having coffee next door and I thought I would give them a try for a simple mani pedi. They upsold me so much that it cost me $130 for a basic gel manicure and regular pedicure. The lady at the shop continued to try and tell me everything wrong with my nails and kept tacking on money to my bill. My nails look terrible. They are shaped uneven. The color is thick and not painted evenly. Buyer beware: you will overpay and receive subpar service and walk out disappointed with your nails and the service you received. It was terrible! Go to Modern Nails. I regret ever walking into this nail spa. I don't think they even have any experience doing nails! Such a shame. read more

It use to be Star Nails I had been there a few times a few years back and it doesn't even compare to being there now! Everything inside is super clean and a cute soft pink, everything from the trash cans to the pillows! When arriving she and the entire staff said hello. I went in to get a pedicure which is REALLY hard to do at salons these days because getting a regular nail polish pedi I've noticed most places not only don't care but they rush through it. The prices here are GREAT! & Not through the roof like the other nail salons on the same street. You even get a 15% off for being a new customer AND money off of you refer her new clients! Massage chairs, fruit water for your feet! I was given drunk options and snacks! A cute man did my pedicure and it was great!
