I cannot thank this place enough! Dr. Eveline Onkels literally saved me. after 3 doctors & 2 years of them telling me I just needed to lose weight, my husband pushed me to go to Onkels Chiropractic. She knew I had a slipped disc in my lower back, recommended I get an MRI and literally provided me weeks of relief. The Onkels offer the most thorough, gentle and knowledgeable chiropractic work I've ever experienced. In this day of quick and easy fixes, Dr. Mike always takes his time and does not charge extra for adding a hot or cold pack, electro-stimulation or other cool, mod techniques. He listens, rubs, adjusts and advises and soothes. Dr. Mike also has training in working with TMJ (the tooth-grinding and clenching joint) and will actually put on a glove and adjust the upper palate. It's amazing relief. This week, I hurt my back somewhere between lifting lighting equipment, playing tennis and leaning over to speak quietly to a hypnosis client. I was seriously out of alignment and tense. The best ever!!!! I met them because of a car accident and I was pregnant with twins and I wanted only a center that knows how to deal with pregnancies of high risk... they are amazing. Dr. Evelyn Onkels did a gentle adjustment on my back yesterday and I already feel it working. My back feels more aligned and flexible. I found Onkels Chiropractic using YELP (thank god for YELP!) It turned out to be one of the best decisions I have made to visit them for not only my health but also my peace of mind. I often get a stiff neck from being stressed out or get a pinched nerve from sleeping in a wrong position. A few months ago I had a stiff neck, excruciatingly painful, and worse than I had ever previously experienced. Usually I just shrug it off and hope the pain will subside and eventually go away, however this time I was scared because It was difficult for me to lift my head and get out of bed. Eventually I got out of bed, it was difficult for me to do my daily tasks - also had a hard time driving. The first day I got there, Dr. Onkels immediately realized how much pain I was having. She asked me what my pain level was. I believe I said an 8 on a scale of 10. The first thing Dr. Onkels explained was "my goal for today is to relieve you of your pain, maybe not totally, but get you to a place where you can feel comfortable and get you to be able to perform each daily task." Not that I didn't believer her, but I was hoping that she would be able to do just that, to stop the pain. By the time my appointment ended, I was able to move my neck with a greater range of motion and substantially much less pain. I love that she set out a goal, was confident about it and made it happen! You better believe I came back multiple times to follow through with treatment. The thing I appreciated most is that she takes the time to explain what she's doing and how it affects my health and body. I also appreciate that she and I believe in the approach to health and wellness in a holistic way. A miracle worker!!! Dr. Mike is a miracle worker. I made the mistake of trying out a crazy bold move at the gym last week and I caused a major pain in my back. After waiting patiently for a couple of days for it to subside, I realized that it was intensifying and became very worried. I contacted Dr. Mike in hopes of getting a last minute appointment and he was very accommodating.
