I found East County Car Detail on Yelp when I was searching for someone professional to plasti dip my new Hyundai Elantra's grill. I texted Diego and he responded right away. He was extremely professional and provided excellent customer service. He let me know that he could meet at my place at a specific time and day to look at the grill and let me know my options. The day of our appointment arrived and he texted me to confirm. When he showed up I knew he was a professional that could be trusted. Since I don't have a garage and it was getting dark, he offered to take my car to a garage nearby and complete the job. Usually I don't hand the keys to my car to a total stranger, but intuition told me Diego was good peoples. So I gave him my keys and he texted me throughout the process letting me know my car was fine (and probably reassuring me that he didn't steal it lmao). I drove to San Diego from Arizona for a family event. Before I came I contacted him 4 days before I was planning to leave to see if he was available to detail my truck. We spoke briefly and setup a an appointment at 8 am for Friday. A day before my appointment I got a reminder text from him which was nice. Then I got another reminder 30 minutes before then a final text upon arrival! Customer service at its best! He got to washing my truck immediately. We spoke for a little bit then I left him alone with my truck while I went and ran some errands. He finished before I was and waited an extra 15 minutes for me to get back home. I literally have never seen a mirror shine on my truck since I bought it 6 years ago. He went above and beyond my expectations and spent an extra hour on my truck than his predicted 4 hours. I couldn't be happier with the results and purchased some car maintenance products from him afterwards so I can maintain my car when I go back to Arizona. Original Review: Normally Yelp reviews are reliable, but not in this case. Worked with Diego and Diego. Without saying too much and anything too negative, I'll let the photos make the statement, and be your guide as whether to use this company or not. To note, I was informed that the detail would take 3-4 hours, and it actually took 1 hour, 27 minutes. After they had already left, I called Diego to tell him that my wife was not happy at all with the detailing service for her car (it was my wife's car we had detailed). He stated that that's the full detail, and that they would not be coming back to address the numerous issues. Nice enough guys but never again! read more

My wife's 2011 Jetta looks like a new car. Diego did an amazing job detailing the car. My wife took our dog to work with her everyday for 4 years. Even though she would regularly wash and vacuum it, the dog hair found lots of hiding places. She no longer takes our dog to work with her, so it was time to do a deep cleaning. By the time Diego was finished with the exterior and interior, you could not tell that our dog had been in the car. He shampooed the carpets and there is no sign that the dog was in the car. So I called Diego after reading most of the great reviews I saw one Bad review but thought hey one bad review must be a fluke? Well I was wrong. Diego showed up on time and was very professional both on the phone and in person. Diego is young and motivated which I thought was good. Right off the bat he said " I notice you have a newer roof, just so you know we also do solar and can do it cheaper than any big company" which I thought was weird, I wouldn't go to a Plummer to get my teeth cleaned but okay. I had just bought a 2004 Tacoma and wanted the interior cleaned, he looked and said no big deal looks pretty standard we can get it looking pretty new. Great I thought why not get it clayed and washed while we're at it. As I was in and out with appts I came back home, where my wife had stayed back with the kids and she told me about how she could hear Diego talking to his helper about things he was going to do and buy once he crossed into Mexico and let's just say it wasn't very appropriate, which I thought was pretty lame considering he saw my kids were home. Then he asked me to look at the interior as he was finished with the inside and when I looked there were things that hadn't even been touched, so I pointed them out and he said he would take care of it. I had to leave again to coach my sons team so I said I wouldn't mind paying him before I saw the work as long as he was willing to address any issues if there were any. And of coarse he says " oh absolutely I'll expect to hear from you tonight just let me know what you think when you get back" So I come home and find things that were half way done. So i tried to text and call him multiple times for 3 days now to give him a chance to address the issues and I've had no response. So all that being said I wish I hadn't used Diego's company, thank you for military service but your quality of work, customer service and professionalism need work especially if your going to use the veteran card to market yourself.
