Two different local friends I trust recommended Anil, so I reached out to him right away. It has been SO amazing working with him, and I am deeply grateful to the people who recommended him! Anil is sharp as a tack, super friendly and down to earth, highly skilled, and he made the entire process feel totally relaxed, which is not something I'd ever experienced before with my taxes! I have an S-Corp with multiple sub-businesses folded into it, own property and a rental ADU, had complicated depreciations, and generally do not enjoy tax time! But every time I talked to Anil, he was just totally calm and friendly and positive, asking great questions, offering clear suggestions, and simplifying what had always felt painfully complex to me in the past. He also had very skillful suggestions about different ways to ensure I was getting the most benefits possible, while still maintaining deep integrity and feeling 100% confident that I'd have absolutely no hesitations if I ever got audited. On top of all this, his fees are super clear and simple, and highly competitive. My tax preparation with him this year cost less than what I've paid other people any of the past 5 years, and I feel much more confident about the filing! I feel so relieved to finally know I'm in good hands and will never have to look for someone new to work with ever again, or at least as long as Anil is around and doing what he does! We got an appointment right away and he completed our returns and filed them electronically within a few days. He was thorough in asking for all of our information so that we didn't miss any possible deductions. The entire process start to finish was the most painless tax prep experience I've had in years. His price, I feel, was very fair. Our return is about medium in terms of complicated, with a few rental properties and to be honest he could have used that to bump his price. He didn't do that. I don't know Robert yet but I have the feeling he is above board and honest in his financial dealings, just had the impression he isn't someone who gets every penny he can in an exchange. His office is in his home and his home is on a remote road in the Santa Cruz mountains. We only needed to make one trip there as he was very willing to do everything electronically after the initial visit to meet each other.

At some point he apparently triggered some deep feelings she had, but he did not seem to notice it care. She cried all the way home. After we got home, we consulted AI. It turns out that we needed a different kind of tax person, if we even need one at all. AI was able to put us on the right track. Thank you, Gemini . That's about it. They are also apparently H&M tax preparation. Heather McTavish's CPA license is inactive as of June 30th. She claims to be an Enrolled Agent but she is not currently authorized by the IRS as a CPA or Enrolled Agent. You should consider filing a police report and a complaint with the Better Business Bureau based on the experiences you have had. Absolutely deplorable tax accountant, we used Heather for years and then came back to her in 2018…read more My husband and I thought all of our taxes were being filed correctly and on time, only to receive letters from the IRS and FTB starting in December of 2022 that our corporate taxes were filed incorrectly for 2018 & 2019 AND 2021 corporate taxes were filed 7 months late. We tried to contact Heather and her staff by email and phone to no avail and no resolution. After 2 trips to her office in an attempt to get the specific requirements by the IRS and the FTB resolved, we are now sitting in her office (for the 3rd time this week) for 2 plus hours and the clock is still ticking, AND we are still waiting for all of the documents to address all of the misfiled tax documents by Heather. We incurred over $1750 in interest and penalties for the incorrect computation on taxes and for filing taxes 7 months late. She refuses to refund us for the penalty's and interest, although we submitted the tax paperwork on time, paid the taxes on time and paid her fees for work performed on time. If you want a shoddy shady accountant, who takes zero responsibility for her work Heather is a go to for sure!

Within our first discussion, I knew that we were having more than just a conversation. It was as if she was peeking deep inside of me to gently expose and address fears, and I don't even think she knows she's doing it. She's so positive that she makes looking at life differently VERY easy. Takes the sting out of scary situations, like leaving your job (among many other things). I find the conversations themselves are very healing, let alone the guidance that accompanies them. I highly recommend at least a conversation with her. She really knows how to view "tough" situations and would be a great asset to anyone with whom she comes into contact.
