We were instantly intrigued and asked Josie about it. She was very helpful and gave us all the information about it. It sounded fun so we decided to rent a couple of their e-bikes the next day to ride the trail. When we returned the next day, Travis got us all set up with the bikes and explained how to use them. After riding lesser-quality e-bikes in several other cities on bike tours, we weren't expecting high quality bikes from here either, but boy were we surprised! These guys had really nice Specialized Como e-bikes for us to use. They were so easy to use and made the ride feel effortless. We had so much fun riding them that we rode the 11-mile loop three times! We also rode into town and stopped somewhere to grab lunch. I can't describe how much fun I had riding their e-bikes on the trail. Going up hills was super easy and didn't feel like work at all. I experienced the joy I felt when I was a kid and used to ride my bike everywhere. Best of all, I could keep up with my husband who is an avid cyclist. He really enjoyed it, too, and even commented that he might want to get an e-bike. I definitely see an e-bike in my future. When we got back to the bike shop Travis patiently answered all of my questions about e-bikes and the different models. He was super friendly and nice. We chatted for a while. The rate was $18 an hour plus an additional $5 dollars for every additional hour and $5 for helmets. They sell water if you need it and have a holder on each bike for a water bottle. We rode first to Whalen and checked out the pie shop and then returned and went back the other way for a while for a total of two hours. A pretty bike trail that is mostly flat. The visitor center is right next-door and has clean restrooms. A very nice experience.

Poor service. We brought in two brand new bikes, both put together but not professionally. We…read moreasked that they just make sure they are ready for the road. We ungraded a seat on one bike, $30-something seat. Bill is $206.46, to make sure everything is tightened properly. Paid the bill. When the bikes are to be picked up two hours later one of the tires is all of a sudden blown. Inflated it the night before, today it is blown. It wasn't blown two hours ago, but I guess the warehouse is too big to have noticed that. Insulted us in the quality of bikes that we bought, said that they would have given us better service if we bought bikes from them. Right out of their mouths, not mine. My experience is bad customer service. They had a fish on the line with the bill for "set up" and figured they would take it one step further. I didn't ask for new greasing and chains or anything other than to make sure they were both ready for the road. All of the service they provided couldn't have taken more than an hour on bikes that were already put together, even if not perfectly. That's a pretty high dollar per hour charge, which I said fine. We have two bikes to ride. The tire blowing out is fishy at best. Quote a reasonable price instead of assuming a customer wants you to do a complete put together job when the bikes are already put together. Zero concern for the customer or empathy. You should have taken care of the tire, minimum. Thanks for the insults as well.

I bought a Trek FX4 from Dave and Perrish in early 2022; a few months before RAGBRAI. I told them I…read morewanted a bike I wouldn't have to work on bc I'm not a gear head. I can fix a chain and put air in my tires but that's the extent of my experience. They sold me this bike and I've used it on two RABRAIs. No issues whatsoever except I had my chain slip off the crank set. I'd learned to hold down the rear derailleur, shift gears, and crank the pedal to fix that. The point is, I've put 1,800 miles on this bike on too long rides plus recreational use at home and it still rides quiet and smooth. Highly recommend seeing Dave at Bike World's new location in the Millwork's district in Dubuque.
