I got hit in the face by 3 grass hoppers & about 17 butterflies. It was magical. Scattered wooden bridges are found every other mile so you can make it across the raging baraboo river. It was not ragin but rather peaceful like a river you would find in the shire, near bilbo Baggins hobbit home. So what's with the tunnels? I'll say this. There is a light at the end of the tunnel, but it is merely a candle light fading off into the distance. The pitch black man-made pieces of history feel like air conditioning units out of a bikers dream. With rustling springs. Tip-keep your bike light off, walk slow, feel like your floating or about to fall. It's exhilarating, natures THC. another tip-be careful! At some points on the trail you'll come across lose gravel! Just make sure you don't look off into the distance at a pretty tree and cabin. You'll crash into your boyfriend bike and get trail rash. :) Have fun!

Ultimately, we decided on comfort bikes (great choice) and took the shuttle to Wilton per the recommendation of the lovely lady that assisted us, so that we can go through tunnels 2 & 3. She also gave us trail tips during the shuttle ride, showed landmarks and told us about the history of the trail. It sounded fun so we decided to rent a couple of their e-bikes the next day to ride the trail. When we returned the next day, Travis got us all set up with the bikes and explained how to use them. After riding lesser-quality e-bikes in several other cities on bike tours, we weren't expecting high quality bikes from here either, but boy were we surprised! These guys had really nice Specialized Como e-bikes for us to use. They were so easy to use and made the ride feel effortless. We had so much fun riding them that we rode the 11-mile loop three times! We also rode into town and stopped somewhere to grab lunch. I can't describe how much fun I had riding their e-bikes on the trail. Going up hills was super easy and didn't feel like work at all. I experienced the joy I felt when I was a kid and used to ride my bike everywhere. Best of all, I could keep up with my husband who is an avid cyclist. He really enjoyed it, too, and even commented that he might want to get an e-bike. I definitely see an e-bike in my future. When we got back to the bike shop Travis patiently answered all of my questions about e-bikes and the different models. He was super friendly and nice. We chatted for a while.
