I came here last week for the first time ever to have a document notarized. This service is free…read morefor members with certain accounts. I have no complaints, and it was a pleasure coming here. I had to come here because the other Pacific Service Credit Union I normally use, in Pleasant Hill, had their notary in training, so a nice teller there directed me to this location, which was only a few miles away. He said that all the managers here were notaries, so there should not be a problem at this location. This first thing to note is it is in a corporate center off of Diamond Boulevard on Willow Way, which is a convenient location (near retail and the freeway). The grounds are well manicured, and it was like walking through a beautifully forested garden to get to the front door. There were things like bridges that crossed creek beds, tables with umbrellas, stone pillars, wood railings, and an assortment of plants! I loved smelling the freshly cut grass. There was also plenty of parking. Inside, the location is different than most banks or credit unions. There are no barricaded windows. Everything is open, and the space is more quaint, smaller than what banks used to be. The teller quickly saw me, and directed to wait for the manager, who was with another customer. I sat in a plush waiting area with four seats. I forget to check if they have wifi, but I'm pretty sure they do. I noticed a free coin counter (think Coinstar) on the wall, as well as free shredding (limit one box). I used it in the past when it was a Coinstar at the old Pleasant Hill location. After waiting a while for the manager, she came and greeted me and apologized for taking so long. She verified my ID, added a California notary form to my provided New York State one since she had to do that to meet her legal requirements, and took my thumb print at the end. It was a quick and painless process. I was very happy how everything went, despite the wait. The only thing I would recommend is a little bigger signage directing customers to the branch location. It is confusing, because they also have the Pacific Service Credit Union corporate headquarters here, but in another part of the building. But at the same time, larger signage would make the grounds look gaudier, and there was probably a lot of user error on my part, lol. The branch is located in the rear. I parked in the front, but it was actually fun walking through the beautiful landscaping to get to the entrance. The nearby retail locations on Diamond Boulevard have become known for crime (think The Veranda), but this location felt very safe, as it was a corporate area. I want to come to this location again, as I loved it here!

But Wow, the front desk lady was friendly at the beginning and once she heard I want to close my account. She became mean and unfriendly. Just really shocked how fast her attitude changes And both my husband and I felt like being mentally abused.

Ptev written above Today, 7/19 - I come back to write another review and see I forgot to post above and AGAIN I'm mistreated. It's like they see a black face then INSTANTLY they are on defense. I'm sick and tired of discriminatory treatment from banks treating black people this way. I'm a professional women who has had an account with Bank of America in great standing for over 23years. 100s of 1000s has hit this account and the accounts monthly average should say enough to a Manager to say I'm not trying to get over or do anything fraudulent. Everyone HATES this bank because it known for naivety and mistreatment, but to close those account would cause me more of a headache due to multiple people I support and how connected this account is to their account. The Chase Bank experience has dwindled. I've been a customer since forever in the Bay Area (since…read moreit was taken over from WaMu). It's reliable, until it isn't for all the wrong reasons. 1. At this branch, the ATM is almost always down. It's always no cash available currently (May and June 2024). 2. I tried to get ahold of its mortgage business - and the agent there are mostly not reachable. They also dissuade me from the best available options - which is availability and eligibility of 1st time home owner loans/alternatives. To be fair, maybe they're just not supposed to tell you what's right. 3. the ATM took my money and didn't send me a receipt. Nowadays, I have to always video myself putting in money for proof. It has come to that level of untrustworthiness. 4. I always need to watch out for the monthly fee that they charge onto my account and then spend time to call them to reverse it because I had sufficient amount in my account, or have enough direct deposit for the month, or whichever the reason it is that should have waived the monthly charge. 5. All the foreign money request is no longer available on site. You'll need to request well in advanced... but seriously, I thought at least they'll have the Euro's or something that is usually requested (since Euros cover lots of country... like almost a continent). 6. For this particular branch, they never have enough Lunar New Year envelopes - I have to go to branch nearby (Pleasant Hill for example). I hope it gets better.

So we walked in after opening on Monday expecting the notary to sign and two witnesses from the bank to also sign, which is what my sister in law did at her bank. But apparently it's Chases policy not to have their employee's sign as witnesses and their notary wasn't there until 11am, both of which just happened to not be mentioned when I called ahead to confirm they could do it. We walked across to Poppy Bank, who sadly also didn't have a notary on site, but did point us to UPS where they get items notarized themselves. We ended up going to the Rossmooor location and got everything notarized with two UPS employee as witnesses with absolutely no issues. All in all, my opinion of this bank dropped even lower than it was and I won't be coming back.
