Each time I've donated blood in New Tampa (Walmart parking lot), it's been the staff of the Lakeland Branch who has greeted me, questioned me, taken my blood, & sent me packing w/ a beach towel or shirt, along w/ a gift card. (The current promotion is a beach towel & $45 in gift cards; it ends Aug 31.) If you're in Tampa or Wesley Chapel, finding an open appointment online & reserving the time takes a minute or more. Once you arrive at the big red bus (currently in a mask-- regardless of vaccine status), you'll answer a few oral questions after answering questions on a Tablet. Then you'll be taken to a bed, offered a beverage & snack, & be stuck; I have yet to ever feel more than a non painful pinch. Once the blood has been collected; the needle is removed; & the gauze is attached w/ a wrap, it's time to go. I've used the Lakeland OneBlood mobile unit 4x-- each time in the Walmart parking lot in New Tampa. No parking issues! No long wait! No hassles! Staff has always been friendly; the women have varied each time. Some of the busses are newer & shinier than others, but all have appeared clean. The entire process from reserving an appt time (on-line) to leaving the bus to go home after the donation has always been INCREDIBLY speedy & easy. I'll continue to donate blood every two months regardless of promotion, & I'll continue to rely on this mobile bus unit. OneBlood makes donating simple!

I love the monthly updates via email and promotional incentives for donors. I have been at this for @ least 13yrs now and have met many great people and nurses. I usually bring my daughter and it's never a problem. Staff members are very friendly & treat her well when she is with me. You can make contact via web site for company bus blood drives. If you would like to set up a monthly blood drive for your support! I have many family members who suffer from cancer and I have found out I am a great universal match for plasma and platelets donations, so I usually get messages or emails to come in. A bruised & bloody knee, looking to mom for sympathy. Pricking your finger to become blood brothers/blood sisters. As an adult, we can still become blood brothers/sisters. With a whole lot more people! Sure, we won't get to practice secret handshakes. Or meet in treehouses. But the meaning is more powerful than ever! My girl, I call her my Fav Fab One, we love to give blood. It's the right thing to do. Paying it forward. Plus, you just never know there might come a day when you are on the receiving end of that bag of blood. This month was my birthday. That time of getting high fives, gifts and celebrations. We were visiting the grand opening of a new restaurant in town when we spotted The Big Red Bus sitting in their parking lot. We ran into Michelle inside, who invited us to donate. Without hesitation, we figured we'd eat, then we'd grab a seat, in the bus. If just felt right to give a gift. A gift of blood. We had NO IDEA that giving blood would be SO MUCH FUN! For when we stepped outta the Florida heat and took our seats, we were greeted by the Tag Team of Julio & Nick! These guys should go on tour. Comedy! Action! Even though we were laughing and having a bloody good time, we knew for sure we were in good hands, too. Funny, how you can be totally professional while being absolutely endearing. That's the atmosphere we were in. Oh, us and one other donor, I'll call her Paige. Thankfully, we all were on the same 'page' so NO ONE was offended or upended. Giving blood. Feeling good. Having fun. And even some parting gifts as their way of saying Thanks! It truly was a 'gifted' experience.

I was given a questionnaire to fill out, and then we exchanged the form with a tablet to answer more health questions. My blood pressure was taken, and my iron count was taken. We walked into the donation area, where I sat in a donation chair, and the donation routine began to take my blood. After about 8-10 minutes, I was finished and got up and left the facility. The technician was friendly and was very good at inserting the donation needle into my arm. There was some informal conversation, and it was a very nice experience. I have been here many times before, and I will return when I can donate again. I've been donating blood since 1969 and feel I am giving life to people who need this to survive. Feel Good about yourself and give blood. One Blood has great employees working there.

On my member log-in page my card NEVER gave me the $20 I was PROMISED....the $20 card I was GIVEN BY ONE BLOOD STAFF....the $20 rewards that are ALL OVER THE OFFICE...their WEBPAGE...and my member portal!!! ******FRAUD******* After 6 days I called One Blood Orlando HQ----no reply from 2 agents I've dealt with in past. One (Salman Warsi), emailed that the policy was changed and monthly donors DO NOT GET REWARDS: "Starting 03/30, therapeutic donors who donate before the 56 day window are not eligible to receive rewards. The general and challenge rewards are tied to the standard whole blood eligibility of every 56 days. eGift Card rewards are only provided when donations occur within that eligibility window. If a donation happens before the 56 day window, even if it is doctor recommended, it does not quality for rewards." NOWHERE IN THEIR OFFICE.... in my portal....or on their WEBPAGE was this "CHANGE IN POLICY" posted!!!!! THIS IS FRAUDULENT....reude.....immortal...and very poor public relations!!! I've given over 2 gallons in recent months! YOU'VE BEEN WARNED----ONE BLOOD IS NOT TRUTHFUL, LEGAL, FORTHCOMING or even respectful of their donors!!! Instagram lists several local alternatives for blood donations. Very easy to use... and they had several open appointment times that made it very convenient. When I arrived, had a little bit of paperwork to do, and a tablet based questionaire for some easy questions. They took me back and I met my phlebotomist. Her name was Val... and she was awesome. Answered any questions I had, was very friendly and made me very comfortable. She did a excellent "stick"... got the vein on the first try... and took what she needed. She kept me entertained the whole! Really a great experience. I finally got my chance on memorial Day. I chose CSL plasma because their information on their app was very comprehensive. The three staff members that took care of me on my new donor visit were outstanding. Miss Gwen did my intake assessment and she was precisely by the book. As a career oncology nurse, I know that processes and standards are there to ensure safety, and I was so relieved with her attention to her facility's standards. Miss Nakina did my physical assessment, and again I saw that commitment to precision and safety. My technician who did the actual procedure was Miss Letti, and she must have used a magic needle because I didn't feel a thing! I felt so safe there. The debit card is a safe way to receive payment, and I strongly suggest reading the paperwork/schedule of fees that comes with it so you don't spend money on fees you don't have to! As I navigate an uncertain future I take great comfort in knowing I'm in good hands. That alone has reduced so much stress for me. I'm so grateful to Moffitt for the care I've so far received.

First time I have ever in Florida…read more I just want to say that everyone should donate blood, you're not only doing something to save a person's life but you get treated like a princess (or prince) when you are doing it. They give you soda and snacks, free t-shirt and whatever else they have free available at the time. I received a free ticket to the strawberry festival. The person who drew my blood was absolutely amazing older woman. We ended up talking about prostitutes in Portland, OR at one point. Great conversation by the way! After giving blood I started to feel light headed and getting a cold sweat, nearly blacked out. (It tends to happen with me because the blood takes FOREVER to get out of me and especially when I haven't donated in awhile, so it probably wont happen to you). Once they noticed it, they were right on top of it with a wet cloth on my forehead and neck. They brought down my chair so I was lying down and held the sprite for me to drink it and got me a rice crispies treat until it went away. This was the best place to give blood I have been to so far! I was asked all the right questions, they took x-rays, did a thorough exam, and made me feel like my previous doctor just might have fallen into a rut of seeing me every 8 weeks, cutting my nails, and collecting his money. I know time will tell but I think I might be in better hands here at Happy Feet. There will be one thing I will miss from the old place. When he was done, he always rubbed lotion on your feet. Maybe Happy Feet will read this and take the hint. All in all, for a first-time visit from the person on the telephone to the people to the front desk and the folks I met in the back plus I, can't forget the doctor I gave to give them all 5***** and trust me that's something coming from this old grouch. If you have anything other than a nail or skin problem please go to an orthopedic. I wasted 6…read moremonths being gaslit and told "my gut feeling is nothing is wrong with your foot" and after finally requesting an MRI and being told I would only need the boot for a week or two, it turns out I have a plantar plate injury. When I asked if this was a possibility six weeks ago, I was told it wasn't possible. Please don't make the same mistake I made, trust YOUR gut. Now I wait six more weeks to see if I need surgery. Very frustrating and disappointing.
