Really happy that I decided to drive to this place! The food was amazing specially the main dishes. We went for scallops and zucchini for appetizers. The scallops was great and the zucchini was ok. For the main dishes we went for the lamb and the fish (which was a snapper that day) and both were amazing!!! As sides we got beetroot and green beans they were ok but the portion were big, I would recommend one side to share between two. Finally we ordered passion fruit custard and banana & toffee for dessert. We enjoyed both but I prefer the banana & toffee dessert over the custard one. The service was really amazing too. Although the restaurant is very pricey so a good service is expected. Overall trying this restaurant is a must while in Auckland and reservation is highly recommended.

Not sure what others ate who rated it otherwise?! My meal was perfection and I wanted to clap when I was done. I began with a side of roasted beets with pickled carrots, goat cheese, and seeds. It was the perfect starter for a warm day and the mix of textures was a delight. The pickled carrots were a just right - crunchy and a delicate balance of sweet and sour. Next I ordered the raw Salmon entree (appetizer) which again had well balanced flavors - crunchy tapioca chips (never had those before, added a nice texture), and diced salmon, apples, tomatoes relish cubes and whipped avocado. Light, flavorful, and delicious. For my main course I ordered grass fed Hereford Eye Fillet. Covered with a red wine jus with ox cheek, there were also pearl onions and shiitakes to dab into the puréed carrot for sweet and mustard for savory. The mix of flavors were intense and wonderful. For dessert I had passion fruit cues which was light and covered with frozen yogurt snow and frozen blackberries. Perfect finale to the meal along with a perfectly made latte in a glass cup. Bravo! The images alone should pass for A review

I don't know whether it's because we bought the grabone for the degustation or they are generally this slow at serving the 6 course meal... We were seated promptly for our reservation at 7.30, got handed our degustation menu and the iPad menu but had to wait a looooong time to order our drinks and then again to order the main choices. However the waitress was very friendly, nice and professional. we were starving at the very beginning but each of the first 3 courses came so slow that we were full on the third (these are very small portions too...so this wouldn't have happened if they came on time) the main was served after 9pm... And still two more after that. We were nearly the last to leave the restaurant and boy did my back hurt. It was very uncomfortable to be sitting in an uncomfortably warm space for that long... Or my body is aging faster than my real age. Let's start from the very first course... The soup was delicious and creamy; the goat cheese was a weird surprise; the venison with salted chocolate and espresso jelly was way too artistic for my taste buds.... as the chocolate was too overpowering that the whole dish tasted more like a dessert to me; finally the fourth course (the main) arrived.. he ordered the lamb rack in medium rare but was cooked to medium and needed more flavour... I ordered the salmon which was under seasoned and underwhelming... the risotto under my salmon was not the right consistency... Was still grainy... Neither of us finished as we were too full and it didn't taste as good as we expected; next was a deliciously warm pudding served with ice cream and an overly sweet mandarin butterscotch sauce; to finish it all up... A board of 3 cheese, crunchy apple slices, crackers and bread. I think we left at 9.45 with two more tables inside waiting to finish up. I had a degustation at another restaurant before and it was amazing with all 8 courses so I was slightly disappointed with this one. I'm not sure whether it's because we bought the grabone for this meal.... So they treat/serve us differently compared to full paying customer? Even the grabone isn't cheap. $160.... So $80pp for a 6 course degustation like that isn't worth it... And that's discounted already...Only half of the courses (or maybe just 2) were good...

Been here a few times, always great! Can be a bit pricey but well worth the experience of dining there. Oysters are wonderful and second for me would be the chicken breast. All great dishes, friendly staff and pleasant ambience recommended

Not a big fan. The food looks amazing but the flavours don't match up. We were very disappointed and won't go back. Also very over priced.

I decided to come here for wine and a cheese platter before going elsewhere to dinner. The best decision I made throughout my trip! I decided to try local NZ wines but they have an impressive French wine selection. Let me save you some time.... JUST COME AND ENJOY YOURSELF! The cutest staff, great location and amazing food and wine. Definitely gonna try and squeeze another visit in before going :)

There was only one other party there and we got some little quinoa salad appetizers care of the chef which were fresh and light. The pulled oxtail was big and impressive for a starter, and quite tender and juicy. The ricotta and spinach ravioli was much smaller and the purees were light and dampened the strongish ricotta flavor to make the whole dish more subtle. I personally would've preferred something a bit tangy to counter the ricotta, rather just make it less ricotta-y. For mains, the Akaroa king salmon was seasoned and cooked PERFECTLY (crispy skin but still deep pink and juicy on the inside and the whole thing flaked apart)... I love the taste and texture of salmon and the chef really brought out the best of the fish. The large amount of lemon potato that came with it looked like a sauce or soup, but had the texture of thick potato puree and tasted pretty creamy. I liked it, but it was heavy because of the cream and felt like a lot more than an equivalent amount of mashed potatoes (good if you're hungry, but didn't make the dish feel very balanced). The Hawkes Bay lamb scotch fillet was cooked not quite consistently, as a few pieces were medium and some were medium-well. We prefer medium-rare. The stack of cooked veggies that came with it was juicy and flavorful, though. For desserts, the crème brulee was PERFECT and using manuka honey instead of sugar meant it was less sweet, which we preferred. The jasmine infused pineapple with coconut three ways was really nice to eat slowly and enjoy all the different flavors and textures... I quite liked the chewy coconut biscuits, especially when soaked in the juice at the bottom. Overall, really enjoyed our dining experience there. The waitress and chef were really nice to have a chat with on the quiet evening. The dishes were really well priced for the quality, even without a voucher. We'll definitely head back at some point. I want to give them a 4.5, but will round up in this case.

Both were delicious and great for the price. After HH, I stayed for a Margherita pizza and more wine. The pizza was thin crust and tasted fresh. Only thing that was interesting to me was the inability to order the same HH wines after HH. The selection switches out. Service was really great and friendly. It started off rather quiet for HH but began to fill as time went on. Plenty of seating options and trendy decor.

VISIT: end of February 2020…read more This was a pleasant surprise as we ate here probably every day of the 3 that we were in town. I typically shy away from restaurants that are in the hotel because they tend to be pricey. We felt, for Americans, that this was decently priced and that each time we ate here, we got a different meal FOOD WE TRIED: - Chicken and vegetable dumplings - Prawn and chive Gyoza - Arancini - 55 day aged beef brisket sliders - Seafood Risotto - Spaghetti with mussels, snapper and prawns The sliders, gyoza and spaghetti with seafood was VERY good. I wouldn't order the dumplings again, but I always forget that chicken dumplings just aren't the same as pork and/or shrimp. The Arancini was a bit disappointing in flavor, maybe just a touch more salt would have been helpful and same thing with the flavor of the Risotto. The seafood was cooked perfectly, but the sauce on it just wasn't as flavorful as I would have liked, for a risotto. Service was always great with the staff always helpful with recommendations. We were very happy to have access to this restaurant during our stay the Four Points
