Manny is one talented tech. I had my iPhone 8 Plus randomly short circuit itself last week. After…read morespending a week with another repair business in Charlotte (under recommendation from the Apple Store Genius), and being told the only thing they could offer me was to ship it to another company for data recovery to the tune of nearly $500, I called El Taller to inquire about their services. Essentially, the other shop thought it was a Tristar chip in the phone; Manny said he had the testing equipment the other shop did not and could test it in 3 minutes. He did, and immediately told me that chip was perfectly fine. It needed forensic level logic board repair, courtesy of some technical micro-soldering skills and he is one of only a handful in Charlotte that can do it (my own research). Manny said he could repair it and have it back by the following afternoon (I dropped it off 1.5 hours before he closed), and the price was $150....over $300 cheaper than the other quote! Well, by 10:30 am the next morning, Manny had fixed my phone and had it ready for pickup! It was good as new, no data loss, and he even gave me some great advice about common issues various models of iPhones exhibit, and what models to avoid. If you need some serious repair services, or even simple repairs like a screen replacement (he includes free ballistic glass screen protectors if he replaces the screen)....Manny at El Taller should be your go-to!
