Management is highly responsive & cares about member experiences. The outdoor workout space is incredible and the group fitness instructors provide higher quality instruction than at many other gyms. Secondary benefits include: yummy food, member events that are family-friendly, high quality and offered at a reasonable cost. Their parties are my favorite to attend by far. The pool is overcrowded during summer months, but there are plenty of alternate activities at the club to make up for this. COAC is our home away from home.

I was standing there with an infant child and the man on the other side kept saying hey we got a new recruit. You don't look like us because they were Caucasian and they said for us to go to the Pickleball Court Side because they were tennis players and they hate pickle ball people, and then he kept saying that the infant child does not look like one of the players. We just then said that we don't play both sports that we're just looking but either way they're loud at 7 AM all the way until 9 PM. I feel sorry for the people that live close by hopefully they find a solution for Trash that comes by the neighborhood. Another thing is that golf is actually way better than these sports.

My 7-year-old daughter went to use the bathroom and was gone for an unusually long time--when I went to check on her she was screaming and having a panic attack because she had been stuck in the bathroom for 10 minutes, pulling on the door with no luck. She vomited from the anxiety. Is this company a "passive income" scheme where the owners neglect day-to-day operations and leave everything in the hands of one teen worker? I tried 1) calling and 2) messaging on the company website to get a response on this issue and a refund for our visit but never received a reply. No one answers the phone and no one replies to messages. They have my name and contact info, maybe now that this is up on Yelp they'll reply. It's really disappointing to get this kind of treatment because we've reserved this place twice for birthday parties and deserve more consideration as loyal customers.

The kids had fun exploring, but I personally found it a little underwhelming for their ages, especially considering the price. There are definitely some great interactive and creative spaces, but I think older kids would get much more out of the experience. One thing that was pretty disappointing was finding out after we arrived that the entire third floor was closed for a private event. We had driven about 70 miles to get there, so it would've been nice to know ahead of time, especially since admission wasn't exactly cheap. Parking was also a little confusing, although there is some street parking and public parking around downtown Santa Barbara and the transit area. There were definitely some highlights. They have a craft/building area where staff were helping kids with projects and doing little workshops. The current theme was marble runs, but kids could also draw, color, build, and make whatever they wanted. Staff were really hands-on and supervised things like glue guns and scissors, which I appreciated. I can see this being a really fun and worthwhile area for older kids who are creative and enjoy building and STEM-type activities. For younger kids, there is a small crawl/play area on the second floor, plus a quiet "cave" or calm room where kids can take a break if they get overstimulated. I thought those were nice additions, especially for families with toddlers or sensory-sensitive kids. We went on a Monday and it wasn't very busy, which made for a pretty relaxed visit. I could see the experience being much better for our family in a few years, so I wouldn't completely rule out coming back when the kids are older. If your kids are school-aged and enjoy interactive, hands-on learning, building, and STEM activities, I'd definitely say it's worth checking out. For younger toddlers/preschoolers, though, I would temper expectations--the admission price felt a little high for what we were able to do. One thing that could make it a much better value is the ASTC Travel Passport Program. MOXI participates in the program, which can provide free general admission at participating science and technology museums around the world if you have a qualifying membership. There is a 90-mile restriction, though--the museum you're visiting generally needs to be more than 90 miles away, measured "as the crow flies," from both your residence and the museum where you have your active membership. Overall, a nice museum with some genuinely fun interactive spaces. I'd recommend it at least once, but for our family, I think we'll wait until the kids are a little older before making the trip again.

The relay is split with the first runner doing 5 + miles and the second running doing 7 + of the 13 miles. The course goes through the valley of Solvang passing by some of the wineries in the area. The course can play some mind games with you if you're now aware that after the initial downhill of the race miles 2 through 5 & 1/2 are all on a small invisible steady incline. I thought I went out too fast and was gassing out because of my pace until I saw the stats on my gps watch after the race. Around mile 6-7 is the big climb everyone talks about, it's a challenge climb but if you pace yourself right you can make it through without burning out. After that hill you can pretty much make up time with the rolling down hills from mile 7 to 11.5. Toward the end of the course there's one last gradual hill then the last half mile of the course finishes flat. For a course that ended up have 700 feet of elevation gain through out the 13 miles I ended up having a 6 minute PR. The expo for the race is at a park in Solvang where the post race wine party will be. Since it's a small race there's only 1 day to get your race pack, they also have a race day pick up option for an additional fee. They offer shuttle pick up to 3 locations in town, since the race is early enough in the morning before the shops in town open it's possible to find nearby free parking. I showed up about an hour before the race and easily found parking less than half a block from the start line.

**Extremely disappointing league management.**…read more Since Breanne Walsh took over league management at Ice in Paradise, the atmosphere and overall experience have deteriorated significantly. Players and teams no longer seem to have a meaningful voice in league-wide decisions. Disciplinary actions are handed down with little transparency, justification, or consistency. Teams and players are repeatedly threatened with suspensions or even being dismantled entirely. What was once a great hockey community built around camaraderie, sportsmanship, and a shared love for the game now feels like an environment driven by intimidation and unilateral decision-making. Ice in Paradise used to be a place where players looked forward to competing, connecting with friends, and enjoying the sport. Unfortunately, under the current league management, much of that spirit has been lost. **I would not recommend participating in the adult hockey league until meaningful changes are made to its management and treatment of players.**
