Nice bunch of guys attending the garage. But it's pricey.

    Dupont Circle, Downtown

I've parked here at least several times a week for more than ten years. For what it is - an underground parking garage in an overpriced city - it gets 3.5 stars. I rounded up because the garage attendants are almost universally friendly, always very polite, and they were incredibly helpful when I got stranded with a bad battery (twice, thankyouverymuch). They park your car (see below), take your payment, bring your car back to you, and give you a receipt upon request. Language is sometimes (though very rarely) a barrier. Lighting is adequate. The garage sometimes fills up on weekdays, most often when either the weather is bad (and people don't want to deal with public transportation), or Metro is having a particularly bad day (and people don't want to deal with public transportation). If you have a monthly account, though, they'll always make room for you (in my experience). FWIW, you can reserve guaranteed parking at this garage in advance, using online apps like Parking Panda. * If you're a sometimes-or-one-time parker, you should know that on weekdays during normal business hours, you must let them park your car (valet), and until 11am you need to pull down the first driveway to the attendants (they aren't at the booth at the top of the ramp until after 11am). * If you're a frequent parker, you can park your own car if you set up a monthly account. (Easiest way to do that is online.) Keep in mind that they don't always have monthly accounts available. (I was working in Dupont Circle for several years before they had any available, but they seem to have more openings these days.) Happy parking!

Only one out of three parking spaces are accessible when the place is packed (every night), as two are partially blocked by the cement columns. The narrow aisles make it really hard to navigate into one of these spaces. At least the stairwells didn't smell like pee! That's a bonus. Didn't see an attendant, so you're on your own.

Staff wasn't super organized, but they were friendly and I was willing to trust them with the keys to my car, so there is that. This is a rather small lot with many spots being double parked in, so they ask you to leave your keys in the car (kind of freaks me out to be honest). It's like a hybrid valet - I parked my car in a small spot, but they brought the car back to me. If you're from out of town, or just not used to city spots, these spots will feel really small. Combine that with having to back in to them, and if you're already sweating you might want to find a different place. I do think the staff may have parked my car for me if I'd asked, so maybe this is a bonus for you. Because of the tight parking, double parking etc, there is a bunch of staff working, and it can get really confusing figuring out what to do. "Park down there" isn't helpful when there are a few cars moving around and a couple of spots. In the end, and with direction from no less than three people, we got our spot. I was complemented on my ability to back in to a spot. Some basic facts that might help you out - on the weekdays, they're open til 10pm. The cost for anything over an hour is $23. So, a tad pricier than elsewhere I've seen, but it was right across the street from our destination and we were running late, so it was worth a few extra bucks.
