Filet mignon to go.
Pamela M.

Hubs got takeout from here last Sunday after he ran (and won, yay!) two races in downtown Huntsville. He got a pasta dish for himself (their menu is not very descriptive so I cannot figure out the pasta dish he got) and said, while it was good, it was a pathetically small portion size for a dinner entree. I didn't see his pasta dinner; he ate it before I got home. Hubs told me he got me the "filet," which is always a great treat for me, since we rarely eat red meat. The filet was a good size in terms of ounces, though, since their online menu is not descriptive, I can't tell you what size it was. Was it the best filet mignon I've had in Madison County? No. [That accolade goes to Nick's Ristorante and their Pittsburgh style filet mignon!] The One Eleven filet was of good quality and cooked perfectly to a medium rare temperature. It had zero seasoning, absolutely none. Thank goodness, of course, I have salt and pepper at home, which worked fine. It just seemed odd to me that a fine dining restaurant would under season a nice cut of beef! The dish came with asparagus, French Fries, and two mystery sauces. I reheated the asparagus and French Fries in the air fryer the next day. Both were good! Hubs told me the orange-colored sauce was "for your fries," and this sauce was not good - it tasted vaguely of a very bland unsweetened ketchup mixed with mayonnaise. Please know I am not a big sauce person, which was a good thing because this sauce did zilch to enhance the French Fries. I thought the brown sauce was for the filet, although I did not use it on the filet. I wanted to try the brown sauce with the French Fries and Blah! It tasted like pureed cooked raisins that had turned gelatinous. Again, if the menu provided descriptions maybe I would know what this sauce is supposed to be. It went straight in the trash can. I think the steak cost around 48.00, and hubs said his pasta was woefully undersized for a dinner portion. Although everything except the sauces were edible for my takeout dinner, I'm still not excited to revisit dinner at One Eleven.

It has taken me a while to write this review. I wanted to visit the restaurant more than once to get a better gauge on my overall sentiments. What I appreciated: * Aesthetics - The restaurant is gorgeous. You walk in and it reminds you of a few restaurants in Manhattan. The transportation to another place and time is appreciated. * Timeliness - With both visits, we made reservations and we were promptly seated upon arrival. * Friendliness - From the folks who greet you at the door to the wait staff and to the additional managers, customer engagement was on point. Where there are opportunities: * Parking is a pill. Like many downtown restaurants in HSV, parking can be a fight or flight experience. My recommendation is to go early or just be prepared to potentially walk a block or so. * Menu selections - while intentionally lean, the menu selections leave a little to be desired in terms of actual variety. Your choices will narrow down in terms of your proteins or pastas. * Food Quality - the food is just okay. On our first visit we had the Steak Frittes. The temperature of the meat was great but the cut was so poorly butchered by whoever sliced it. It was chewy and I didn't love it. The Frittes were perfect! - on our second visit, the timing was off on the food delivery so most of the party was served their items and I still had to wait for mine (Surf & Turf special). Once received, my filet was over-cooked and my prawns were mushy. My guess is that they sat under the heat lamp too long. The manager advised that I received someone else's steak (mine should have been med rare), but that felt untrue given the prawn texture. They comped us a dessert which was not necessary. - appetizers (Arancini) were lukewarm but plated well. * Drinks - WAY overpriced and weak. I have yet to enjoy any of their signature cocktails. We have tried: The Space Race, Redstone Arsenal, Ditto's Landing, Maple Hill and Hide Ya Lemons, etc. They were all bad. One tasted like cough syrup although they were all gorgeously presented. I did try their Old Fashioned and that one was done well. Coming from and spending time in larger cities, I do appreciate that we have One Eleven as an option. But based on the overall quality of the food, their pricing doesn't align with what you get outside of what you see with your eyes. We won't be going back any time soon.

Came to celebrate my birthday here based on all of the awesome reviews online. Waited at the hostess stand for a few minutes despite the restaurant being pretty empty. The decor is stunning. It's bright and open with cool lighting and tons of IG worthy photo opps. There was a live band playing and a private dining room. There's a bar area and plenty of seating arrangements throughout. Our reservation was for 9 but we were late-we did call ahead and inform. Our waiter David was amazing. Responsive and friendly. I appreciated that there was a mocktail menu. We ordered drinks and got those very quickly. Our appetizer was fresh and delicious. The only downside there was that it felt like we were a bit rushed to order because the menu was changing to "limited late night." Unfortunately, that's where it stopped. The Caesar salad was drenched in dressing. 1 of 4 entrees were enjoyed. The pasta dishes were overcooked-to the point of being mushy. On my dish specifically, the pesto sauce was very thick and the whole dish was under seasoned. When the check came, we realized that the cost of the appetizer and salad was split on each check. This information was not shared prior and was only ordered for one person. Service and ambience are 10/10 but the food is severely lacking. Many of these new restaurants are choosing trendy over tasty and that's such a disappointment. I would go back but only for drinks and the vibe.

I couldn't wait to try this place! The decor and ambiance is beautiful. We came for lunch to try it out before committing to a dinner. Their lunch menu seemed limited, but their food was great. They have some really fun cocktails too. My friend and I split the ditto landing, which was a fun science experiment cocktail that they bring to the table. It also tasted fantastic. For my entree, I ordered the salmon which was inspired by Korean flavors. My goodness, it was delicious. We all laughed though when I was asked how I wanted my salmon cooked. That was a first. The service could be better. It took our waiter a really long time to come and take our order but he kept going back to the table next to us and the place wasn't busy.

Angry Prawns

First let me say the ambiance and aesthetic is everything here! I came on a random Saturday around 2pm to treat myself to a late lunch and I did enjoy. Service was amazing, everyone was very friendly. My server Derek was the sweetest! As for the food, I opted for a mocktail - which was delicious. The crab cake I absolutely loved. Never had celery root and really enjoyed that! Plus the crab cake was meaty! Now the angry prawns I was very disappointed in. All I got was spice but nothing else in regard to flavor. Everything was very slimy still, so I didn't enjoy this entree at all. I'm willing to return for dinner to see how it fares because of all the other high points.

We've been twice and both times have been really great. Once was for lunch/brunch and the other was for dinner. Don't get me wrong, it's pricey, but it shows up. The space is gorgeous. The service has been really solid. I forgot to take a photo but my beet drink was in a unique art vessel and the drink itself was unique which made me happy. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered in the two groups I went with. I am a dessert snob and I'm not loving the desserts, but it's clearly me because everyone else in my parties have been very satisfied with theirs. Will absolutely be back!

Pork chop

We really loved our dinner here! The ambiance and service were incredible. We ordered the shishito peppers, beef carpaccio, chicken breast, steak and frites, pork chop and cheeseburger. Hands down the pork chop was the best!!

The new kid on the block in Huntsville's upscale dining scene has a few things going for it that I think will not only keep it around a while but also provide it some staying power. 1. It's absolutely gorgeous. Quite simply it's one of the most attractive dining spaces in the city... And yes that counts. The floors are gorgeous, the farm-chic accents, urbane exposed back wall, the greenery and of course the skylights remind me of two things: some ther cities Huntsville has room to grow 2. They get "Huntsville" Once I looked up the group (Power Brands) behind One Eleven, its shine made sense but still.. they truly understand the Ville in that pretense only gets you so far in this town. My first experience was a last minute pop in from the airport with about 25 min before the kitchen closed. I called with fingered crossed and got a "let's try it" I was able to park right in front (location, location, location) open the soon-to-be nostalgic door and get hugged with a bit of southern hospitality and local jazz. As we came in, short khaki pants and plaid shirts exited... commenting on just how wonderful the meal was. And that's what I mean: it's a dress up time but not necessarily. That's Huntsville (not Chicago.. Or the A) I'm withholding the 5th star for now that both its older rivals (Purveyor and Domaine South) have on account of recency bias and a few things that could improve (and likely will) A. The bar - it's far too gorgeous of a space to not to have the bartenders match it. Downtown Huntsville has a few incredible bars and I think One Eleven has to match that energy to truly make itself elite. Although, the Space Race and the Redstone Arsenal cocktails are **chefs kiss** B. The kitchen - Angry prawns were ALMOST a masterpiece. The okra sucotash and orange zest elevate the dish's spice like a dirty joke in the middle of a good conversation, but the prawns themselves were unevenly cooked. Delicious flavor but the texture left much to be desired. But let's not dwell on this --again, baby is new. The arancini with truffle oil is a great app. In fact, I like testing arancini in different places around the country and this one is at least top 10 (#1 is in SF, #2 in PR ) The filet mignon was good as well but I think the accoutrement --whipped potatoes and tomato gratin --shined. I'll try the hangar steak to see what their boeof is realllly on. I have to visit for lunch and another late night to be sure, but One Eleven has just about everything. It's chic, intimate and see-and-be-seen as possible for a town like this. There were enough couples looking to devour each other as they were the meals, all to classic jazz tunes. And when they're done, there's a cute photo booth to commemorate the evening (or afternoon if you have goofy @$$ friends like mine) OK, so here's my grades Food - 4.25 Service - 4.75 Gabrielle was amazing! Ambiance - 4.75 (best in town?) X-Factor - 4.5 (again, there's a photo booth in the back)

Yellowfin crude

LOVED the outside, inside, and ambiance ! Lovely decor and upscale hotel lobby feel. Gorgeous bar, plants, chandeliers, classy uniforms, etc. located right in downtown Huntsville. They were booked up all night so they gave a 2 hr table limit (which we could tell). Our waitress felt rushed, and came to our table to ask for ordering, etc. every 5-10 minutes . I appreciate attentive staff but not rushing staff. We ordered the yellowfin crudo for app - fresh & yummy. Entrees: salmon with sushi rice, kimchi, pickled onion, glaze Steak frites -- My husband ordered steak frites ($38) medium rare; steak was flank (which is a poor cut to begin with), not cooked to his liking. The fries make up for it, truffle fries are absolutely delicious & crave-able!! I ordered the salmon. The kimchi is fantastic, I've had better cook and flavor of salmon. Rice was nicely cooked and loved the bite with all elements: grilled cauliflower, kimchi, pickled veg, and salmon. Overall, lovely ambiance, attentive staff, and inside. Great service. Sub par food. Drinks were good, craft cocktails are overpriced! Ready to come back when they work out the kinks.

So I've been hearing a lot about One Eleven. I've also seen the videos on IG, so decided to check them out. Originally we made reservations for dinner, but decided to go a little early. Just fyi, if you decide to go from open to about 4 pm, they have a slightly different lunch menu during this time. Next time, we would prefer to go during dinner. Not saying anything bad about the lunch menu, we just wasn't prepared for it and already knew what we were going to try from the dinner menu lol. We started off with drinks. I ordered the Redstone arsenal which was pretty good, but it just reminded me of a mimosa with added Tito's. My friend ordered the Devil's Race Track, which was to me more delicious than the Redstone. It was very spicy but had a more unique taste. Both drinks were pretty however lol. For lunch based on a suggestion from our waiter Dave, we decided to try the wild mushroom arancini. We also ordered entrees, which included angry prawns with a side of collard greens and the hanger steak sandwich. Unfortunately, we actually received our entrees before the appetizer. The angry prawns were just 'ok.' They are definitely spicy but mine were very over cooked and therefore a bit dry, which spoiled the delicious okra succotash that came with the dish. Also I noticed one of the prawns came with only the head of it, then a regular piece of shrimp was buried under the dish. I thought this was a little weird. Also, according to my friend, for the hanger steak sandwich even though it tasted pretty good, he ordered it as medium and it was also overcooked. The appetizer ended up coming well after we were into our entrees. After speaking with the waiter about our late appetizer, he asked us if we wanted dessert in place of the appetizer, but we asked for the appetizer to be comped. He did apologize for the over site and said it may have gotten lost because the new shift for dinner was coming in. I am glad they took care of the appetizer as it was the best item we ate. It was like a giant mozzarella ball. It was very delicious and cheesy. Keep in mind, it is very truffle oil forward, so if you're not a fan of truffle don't get it. The restaurant itself is very nice, has a great vibe, and areas throughout for great pics. We aren't going to give up on One Eleven yet. Maybe our visit was just not a a good time.

The drink was too good to capture. This was a Midnight Citrus.

Shout-out to Teylor! The vibe was really great too - the other guests were friendly and sociable without being overbearing and I enjoyed my visit while having a drink. I ordered the Monte Sano Sunset, which is a rum drink with fruity elements to include orange and pineapple juice as well as a squeeze of lime. It wasn't overly sweet and didn't upset my stomach as similar drinks often do. It was a pleasure to watch Teylor make my beautiful drink as well as what others ordered; there was even fire involved with one particular beverage! I enjoyed my drink and heard rave things from the other guests about each and every drink that was served. Although this bar is rather far away for me, I look forward to bringing friends from out of town to this special new place.
