Great experience!! The drinks were AMAZING and some of the best I've ever had. Service was great. Only thing that was odd was that as that we ended our time limit, and our friend told them we knew we were getting near, the attitude changed. Like your times up, leave. May go back. Not sure. But a great experience.

Gin cocktail in front. Bourbon cocktail in back.

We decided to try here again one year later with guests. Even more of a disappointment. Thankfully now we know where else to go in Huntsville for better drinks, better service, and better prices. We wrote down specifics but don't even care to express them at this point. The service was so poor and unwelcoming. Most in our party weren't too satisfied with our drinks, especially for the prices. It is a cool concept but not worth it. Go elsewhere. Other local places will hear out what you want and also make unique specialty cocktails for you.

Best whiskey sour I've ever had. The bartender was so fun and you could tell she was passionate about the art of a good cocktail. For each cocktail she explained an entire story about the beginning middle and end of the palate. It is pricey but a great treat for a date night or someplace special when family/friends are in town. I reserved far in advance and it was fun finding the place and sharing the secret code! My wife says it's her new favorite place for drinks in Huntsville area! Highly recommend.

OMG! We had an amazing time at the Catacomb Saturday night! Long story: When they were growing up, the kids on the street called themselves The Foxboro Gang. The kids all grew up and moved away but the neighbors hated to see the gang move on so we decided to resurrect it - we are now the Foxboro Gang v2.0. While the kids ate pizza and Coke, we eat fancy appetizers and drink craft cocktails. While the kids played board games, we play dominos. While the kids ate at the food court at the mall, we frequent the finer dining establishments in town. I like the revamped version of the gang! Saturday was a big night out for the gang. I made reservations for the Catacomb 435 three weeks prior. I was only able to get reservations for 4 people at 5:30 so I had to make the other two for 5:45 (it worked out though - they let us all in together). I was sent a confirmation email with a cryptic message telling me that I would be sent another email the day of with directions and the password. Catacomb does not serve food so we opted to have appetizers at my house before we headed downtown. I'm not going to tell you the details on where and how you get into the place - I'll let you enjoy the surprise yourself - it's part of the experience. Once in, we were seated in a comfy corner with a couch and a couple of leather barrel chairs and were told to fill out a flavor profile. It was a little confusing at first but we caught on quickly. Here, you don't specify your drink - one of their mixologists makes you a drink that fits your profile. Each is different and you won't get the same drink twice. Our first round came - most looked like a typical top shelf - various fruits, a variety of colors - but my husband's drink was a visual masterpiece. His glass was topped with a smoldering cinnamon stick. It looked so cool! While our drinks were all good, nothing else was a standout. That was soon to be resolved though. The bartender came to our table and discussed in a little more detail what a drink profile was. We each ordered our second round then sat in our comfortable corner talking about what gang members talk about (which is a lot about nothing!). Our drinks came, each were described to us and we sat back to enjoy. All of the drinks looked interesting this time - fruits in various forms, clear drinks, smokey drinks, creamy drinks, some even seemed too pretty to drink. My drink this round was just too sweet. I mentioned it to our bartender and she was happy to redo it for me. I really appreciated that and am glad I said something. Our third round came and the drinks were better yet. As the evening progressed, guests trickled in and we watched some really interesting drinks go by. Reservations are for two hours. Our bartender came over to let us know our time was ending and to settle our tabs. The drinks are priced per the amount of liquor they contain. Catacomb is not cheap. Most of the drinks are in the $15-$20 range - of course you get what you pay for. I'd call Catacomb more of an experience than a bar. I think the Foxboro Gang v2.0 might just have to make this an annual event!

Wonderful hidden gem! All drinks are customized and beautiful. Perfect spot for 2-6 people enjoying the evening.

Legit speakeasy! Amazing. Period. This is one of the most unique experiences I've been to. It was a hoot! They open reservations 30 days in advance and yes, you do need reservations. You aren't getting into this speakeasy without it. They will email your password and instructions the day if. Read the instructions thoroughly. We were greeted by a 1920s bouncer who got the part 200%. We got a kick out of this. The interior takes you back in time. The menus are a flavor based menu so it's going to be a surprise what you get. I promise this will be the best complex craft cocktail you've ever had!! I had 3 different ones and they will be different every time. Do yourself a favor and plan a trip here ASAP!

Huntsville, AL - 1920s themed speakeasy located in a basement linked to the Underground Railroad - Must buzz in at the red box, with a code to get in. Don't be early and don't be late. Reservations required. One of the coolest little gems I have had the pleasure of visiting lately. There's no drink menu - you make selections of flavors on your sheet and its all dealer's choice. You're in for a treat.

More cocktails. Note the selection list on the table.

Loved this experience. Great service, amazing cocktails and relaxed atmosphere. Don't know what I was served but I do know they were great cocktails. You tell the alchemist what you like in a drink and then they do their magic. Great time.

    Custom craft cocktails.

Expensive absolutely but worth it at least once. Make sure you sit where you can see the craft cocktails being made, that's the show. A marvelous experience that I wish I could afford more, but certainly worth a visit and probably the number one place I'll be taking everyone from out of town. HINT that I wish I knew before going! Park in the parking garage on Clinton. Street parking is terrible and it's only 2 bucks.

I've been looking forward to Downtown Huntsville getting a legit speakeasy and this is definitely it! It's complete with a call box hidden in plain sight that requires a password to get in and everything! Highly recommend making reservations a week or more out as it can fill up. The reservation time slots are for up to two hours. You must make a reservation to receive the password to gain entry. They will email this the day of, usually by 5pm at the latest. It will contain all the instructions you need. This can be done on their website. The bar itself was downstairs in the basement with a dimly lit, chill vibe. The were playing cool old movies on the tvs which really set the atmosphere. The music choice however was not quite what I expected. We were given a piece of paper to select our spirit of choice and two flavor profiles. The bartender then hand crafted our drinks based on these. This is exactly what I'm looking for at a speakeasy! The drinks were all unique and super good.

Heard about this place from a friend of mine and I instantly knew I wanted to celebrate my birthday here. We made a reservation and counted down the days until we got the code to get in. We let the doorman know what was what and he let us in, directed us down some stairs and through a door, and before we knew it we were in the lounge -- hidden away from the hubbub and the fuzz who want to get their hands on elixirs for free, the crooks. Everything about this place was classy, from the lighting to the smell, it was exactly the kind of place a guy like me wants to be after a long day working the streets for the family. Aside from speaking easily amongst other patrons, the owners have a little something called "Dealer's Choice" where, for the low price of 15 to 20 Washingtons, you get to choose two flavors and a base for an elixir specially made for you. I have to say, I was very impressed with what they came up with. The mix you see in my hand is a citrus-smokey flavored concoction with bou- I mean, apple juice, it's refined apple juice, as evident by the apple slices on the glass. It was probably the most delicious glass of apple juice I've ever had. Overall, it's a fantastic lounge. It's lowkey, classy, and they know how to keep things smooth. Tell your friends -- or don't, just make sure you know the risks. Remember what they say, loose lips sink ships, and this is one ship you do NOT wanna sink.

Great place to take visitors or for something new. Very unique and enjoyed coming here. I told the The mixologist what liquor I wanted but b was open with flavors. He did well on all 4 of my drinks and those who I went with enjoyed their drinks too. Wish someplace like this was opened near me.

They did…read morenot like the answers they recieved from me and then took it upon themselves to go to a manager, I think, and claim that I had used racial epiphets aimed at one of the group who started the discussion. This never happened, and I have never used, to the best of my memory, any name calling in discussions since I was a young idiot of 15 years. Nevertheless, the manager, instead of finding out what really happened, took the dissatified student at her word and began yelling agressively towatds me. I was gobsmacked as I had no idea what I had done. I, in my confusion, was explaining my innocence and pointed out that I thought we were having a good faith discussion. The entire time acting calm and confused as to what I had done, and repeating my innocence, as I do NOT use racist names and thought we were just discussing a situation that had little effect on our lives. This fell on deaf ears for the manager(?), as he continued to yell at me (totally uninterested in hearing what I had to say) and demand I leave. He brought with him two bouncers despite him being the only one speaking with a raised voice. I was not acting violent or agitated. In the meantime the college student who I thought wanted to have a good faith discussion up until 5 minutes previous was claming, behind his back, that I had used a racist name that I have nevet heard in my life before it was on Breaking Bad, the series. This was a very uncomfortable and frightening situation for a man suffering from PTSD. It was all I could do to keep control and talk in a measured tone to the agressive manner showed me. I was thankful that the entire group was thrown out by the owner, I think, as I had been cordial and jocular and did not actually want to discuss politics or the middle east when out on the town and enjoying myself. However the agressive manner showed me as a guest from another country convinced me that anyone I know should stay away from the Lone Goose Saloon because college students will lie in order to get anothet patron kicked out with whom they don't agree. And that the manager should immediately side with the lying student and act agressively to a patron who was acting perfectly normal, even after he was yelling and agressive, tells me he is either naive or stupid or both. Or does he think all young women tell the truth? Perhaps he should look into the matter and both sides before he stars yelling at a person who has seen death and destruction as well as behaving himself amicably. I will not be recommending this bar to anyone.

The restaurant sits just a stone's throw from the ballpark where the Rocket City Trash Pandas play, so the whole place already has a fun, lively atmosphere before you even sit down. Now given the name "Prohibition," I half expected someone to knock on the door and ask for a secret password like it was 1927. Back in those days, enjoying a drink required secrecy, dim lights, and maybe a jazz band playing in the corner. Today, things are a little easier... though for this non-drinker, my order was simple: water on the rocks, hold the lemon. I prefer my water about 100 proof for maximum flavor. My boss and coworker grabbed seats at the bar while we looked over the menu. We kicked things off with the Pork Belly Burnt Ends and the Pork Bao Buns. Let me tell you, those Pork Belly Burnt Ends were an absolute masterpiece. They came out crisp and seasoned just right with a little spicy kick. Served with raw carrots, homemade pickles, and lettuce wraps to bundle those little jewels together--downright tasty. If food had a Hall of Fame, these would already have a plaque on the wall. The Pork Bao Buns were good as well, but they simply couldn't match the grand slam the Pork Belly Burnt Ends delivered. For my main course, I ordered the Smoked Wangs with the Jala Mango seasoning and a side salad. The wings were delicious--cooked and seasoned to perfection. Every bite was solid. No bootlegging required. Prohibition definitely hit it out of the park today. Between the great food, the great service, and the fun atmosphere near the ballpark, this place is a must-stop for locals or anyone just passing through Madison. Our waitress tried pretty hard to convince us to order dessert, so I'm guessing their sweets are just as flavorful as everything else on the menu. The only problem I had today? I couldn't finish my meal. I was absolutely stuffed. If this had been the 1920s, the only crime committed here would've been leaving food on the plate. Great food. Great service. I'll gladly return--though next time I may need a little more room in the stomach.
