Stella's was the first spot my colleagues went to during our 9 day work trip to Huntsville. Parking was a breeze. Our IDs were checked before we walked up the stairs. It was pirate night so all the employees were dressed up. The drinks were okay. The DJ was fire!!! We went again a couple days later but earlier in the evening around 4:30pm. I came in on a slow Sunday night. Unlike the stories of the rude and sloppy bartenders that I read here, Wes was excellent and totally top customer service. It's a really gorgeous space, well set up for socializing with friends. They were already closed for food. Open late night which, for tired people arriving late into town, after a long day of driving, was truly appreciated. The following day, I came in. The female bartender was equally awesome. My family and I, about 25 of us, stopped by after a wedding rehearsal dinner. Most of the group walked in with no issue. We were already inside, getting ready to order drinks and food, when the bouncer refused to let my 23-year-old cousin in. He had a real, state-issued ID, unexpired, and fully valid. The kind of ID every other bar recognizes without hesitation. For whatever reason, the bouncer insisted it "wasn't valid" and wouldn't let him through. No explanation that made sense, no second look, nothing. So instead of splitting up the group, all 25 of us left. We took our business to another bar down the street where they checked the exact same ID and let him in immediately. No confusion. No issue. We ended up buying multiple rounds, appetizers, and having the night we originally planned to have here. It's disappointing, because this could have easily been avoided. When you turn away one person without a clear reason, you end up losing the entire group behind them. The bar down the road appreciated our business. This place, unfortunately, did not get the chance. read more

EMPLOYEE/BAR TENDER STEALS!! I've been going here for yearssss. My friends and i decided to go out last night 9/5/25 this is the first bar we go to. (We had not been drinking we were all sober) My friend ordered 2 vodka Red Bulls and the guys who takes her order turns the other bar tender to tell him to make the drinks and he asks the guys who took her drink order if it's Tito's and he replies yes. He never asks my friend if she wants well or Tito's. Then she receives her 2 drinks and is charged $43. Then later on she see another $8 charge from Stella's. He had turned the tablet around and gave himself the highest amount for tipping and signed for her. After she had received her drinks I ordered mine. I ordered a tequila pineapple, and was then charged $15 and I tipped $2 and I actually got to tip and sign for mine. I questioned the prices after I had paid and said this is high for one drink with well liquor. He then proceeded to bring over another bar tender and she asked him did you charge her for a double pour (which I did not ask for) and he shrugs. She asks me if i ordered a double pour and I say no. She then refunds me the double pour and my drink is rung up for $10 and my $2 tip is still added. She gives me a receipt and says i should she the charge change on my card. My friend proceeds to call the bar and email them today 9/6 and has received no answer. Definitely never returning here again. I am very disappointed as I have been a long time attendee and so have many of my friends since college. read more

I've passed by here a few dozen times before finding the right time to ascend a very monotone stairwell to find a much talked about downtown spot Luckily, next to no one was around... And this is why I love moving about earlier in the week. Stella's Elixir lounge is a bit smaller and more intimate than I'd imagine; easy to see how it could get elbow to a-hole in a spot like this on a Friday or Saturday. But with breathing room and a bar to myself, it's a cozy place for temporary sedation --or at least a meandering conversation with a bartender and a few (new or old) friends. I picked a winner for an opening drink, er, elixir menu--a fairly balanced (but strong?) concoction called a Corleone --named for, well you get it. It's essentially a Manhattan with either Solerno or Amoretti...im not sure and that means I should have asked. I followed with an añejo tequila and... Probably a wine because I'm selective in the what but not necessarily the "how" when it comes to the spirits. I stayed til the couples shuffled out and the fire pits poofed so I could get a look at the place in its own skin. It's definitely urbane for Huntsville and I wouldn't mind spending a few more minutes, just as long as this on-trend cozy throwback doesn't start to feel like an upscale sardine can. read more

The service was absolutely terrible, the said "owner" and the "manager" were highly unprofessional and racist. I spoke to the owner about how their manager gave my friends debit card to another customer and how when we address the situation the manager rolled her eyes at us. Clearly she assumed all black people must look alike because she's gave my friend's card to another black lady across the bar. No apologies for the mistake were given, instead the manager stood there and laughed at the situation And the owner didn't seem to care. We were then ignored for the rest of the time till we decided to go somewhere else. As we are leaving the owner walks up and aggresses the situation and proceeds to put her hands on my friend. Now old me would've beat her ass but instead I grabbed my friend and said let's go. We WONT EVER be back. This establishment is NOT for POC at all. Ahhh Stella's... They really stepped it up this year for the derby party. It's my second rodeo here. So much fun! Had pictures taken for a local magazine, service was great! The only thing I have to say is, this is a derby party right? Several of us got up and tried to stop your band. 10 minutes before post time, is not enough. Period. We waited forever inside and then ventured outside where more people were. We sat a dirty table as it was the only area with clean cushions to sit. What has happened to Stellas? When I moved to this area 3 years ago, it was my favorite place to go, by myself, with friends or to take visiting coworkers. In the last 6 months the service and drink quality has gone from great to downright rude. I've been there on not so busy nights and busy weekends and the bad service and poorly made drinks are now consistent. I don't mind paying $17- $23 for quality, crafted drink, but the current bartenders are not meeting the previous standards. The drinks are not being served properly, like the bartender doesn't know how to mix them according to the recipe. The worst part though, is the downright rudeness of the female bartenders. I took a colleague visiting from out of town, on a not very busy weeknight and was embarrassed that he was ignored at the bar. The bartender went around collecting glasses with an attitude and nasty look on her face. In addition to the poor quality of the drinks, they were served in the cheapest plastic cups. I want my $23 drink in a glass or at least a better quality plastic cocktail container. It's sad because the location and layout of the place is great. Bad service is ruining the vibe. I came for pride night expecting the place to be full of all things pride related. There we no pride decorations and pretty much nothing pride related. My group asked the bartender if we had the right event and she informed us this was only their second time doing the pride event so they're still working the theme and it was more of a mingling event. The place is absolutely beautiful though. It's like it's ripped straight from a magazine.The space is meant for selfies and a good time. It's a bar only so there's no food or appetizers served so be sure to eat before you go. The drinks are nice and strong. Also this is located upstairs so you'll have to take the stairs up. There's no elevator so wear comfy shoes. Otherwise this is definitely a girls night hang out spot. read more

The hostesses are attentive and cordial. The place is clean, roof-top with nice seating. My downside is the drinks are inconsistent. On one visit, the drinks were good. Our bartender was Jacob and I asked him if the happy hour beer list is shorter than the regular and he responds with, "Well is that what it says?" in a rude, demeaning tone. He then proceeds to say "well i don't have it memorized I just push a button." He has always been rude when trying to order drinks and has never shown any happy, nice, or welcoming respect. Been here multiple times. Consistently wait got 10+ minutes for a drink at the bar. I drink bud light and tip 3-5 dollars a beer. I'm an easy customer. Tonight I was told, after trying to flag a bartender down, "Sir I see you hand, please stop" after that he told me I would have to find another server and threatened to kick me out for cussing. Pricey is ok with great service. This place doesn't have that. Go for the atmosphere, but don't expect to be impressed elsewhere. read more

This review is about the service we received. I am not one to leave bad reviews but this was inexcusable. We came in and ordered two drinks from a server working the floor. We waited half an hour only to be told that our drinks had been served to someone else. We did receive a refund with minimal hassle. However they were pretty unapologetic about it. Took a while to get greated and even longer to get a menu. Just wanted a draft beer. Wife got a standard martini (house vodka) I got a draft trimtab ipa. Took forever to get our tab. $28 for those drinks and she said the drink tasted like medicine. Maybe give this another try once just to see if they have improved.
