The items were marked and sold as vintage eye wash cups but in reality they are just small laboratory beakers. I do not collect eye wash cups or know much about the types or designs but paid $10 a piece for 3 of them for an elderly friend that collects them because the tag said they were eye wash cups. Taylors refuses to refund and do a return. #1 false advertising. #2 bad business decision. #3 not a business I will ever trust again and have gone there and spent quite a bit on items just for home decor not for antique value.

The lister then said that it WAS available - this was after the shop had already closed for the evening by the time we were communicating. I was working out with the owner when I could pick up based on her open hours - telling her my best convenience but ultimately letting her know that I'd rework my schedule with whatever works for her since it was something my daughter really needed. She said she'd get back to me in the morning with the time that would work. I didn't hear from her so I checked my messages to see that she marked the item as sold. I, of course, figured she had marked it sold for me (giving her the benefit of the doubt) and asked her if she had figured out when I could grab the items and she told me she had sold it. In hindsight, there was one red flag when we were communicating as she said "a ton of people want it". If that was the case, then I imagine it wasn't really available and/or we were being scammed. I was disappointed to say the least. If she had told me that I had to get it the second she opened, I would have called off work to grab it. She didn't. She simply said she'd get back to me with the time that worked for her. If it wasn't available, she should not have said it was. This is not how a shop with integrity works.

I was referring to sharing it online. Well, it hit a nerve because they responded rudely, privately to my comment. Was it really necessary to be snippy and say, "There..I responded."? Not all local businesses earn support.

Consequently the Salvo has to pay their employees almost a liveable wage- so yes it has gotten more pricey than 3 or 4 years ago...but almost retail... oh hell No. My daughter and I go 2 times a month and the experience is usually worth half of what I pay... and then I still get to go use the items. People watching is key here - it's usually a trip! Terrible Christian music usually playing - bring your own headphones. Store is clean for a thrift store. Very well organized. Good selection of men's clothes - which isn't always a thing at thrift stores. Decent art and game sections. Always some off the wall shit to make you scratch your head. Worth the trip.
