We did manage to cut things back in the late fall, but we knew we needed to do more or things would end up a mess again. I contacted MetroGreenscape after being ghosted by another landscaping company and they have been nothing but incredible. Tina was very responsive and got us set up with an appointment for Sean to come out and give us a quote quickly. Sean was early to the appointment, professional, and really knows his stuff! We discussed working in phases due to the amount of work we have to do, and they are completely happy to work with us on that. Sean gave us a quote to clear the front, back, and side yards, lay pine straw, and install drainage - y'all his guys got it done in one day! We are so happy and amazed and the work so far and can't wait to continue working with Sean, Tina, and the rest of MetroGreenscape! They've been very communicative, and explained everything they are doing clearly to us and are just great!!

Terrible experience working with this company. I signed a relatively large contract and immediately…read moreregretted it. The project manager, Justin, promised a ton without delivering. Had to have a second company come and help because they flat out refused to help with landscaping, saying "that's not my job" and "that's not my department". It's a landscaping company but they turned it into a super mediocre construction job, which is not what I was going for at all. I would definitely go with a different company, Dala Casa was extremely helpful and came out to fix all the stuff they didn't do. They also promised "color and height and asymmetrical landscaping", then planted 9 white flowering plants in a row in front of my house, removing all the color and leaving it looking boring and dull. It's a brand new home and really bummed me out. Add the fact that the design fee was $1000 and I don't really know what I paid for. Requested berry bushes and fruit trees, but that was forgotten. Justin "knew a guy" for all the requests and projects, but none of them ever materialized. Then, his assistant promised she'd be "boots on the ground all week making sure things get done" after I contacted them about how unsatisfactory the job had been and she never even bothered to show up. Really disrespectful for a such a large contract. John who assisted with my porch/stairs was very helpful, but the company they contracted with for the stair fabrication was super mediocre with poor finishes and a confusing layout

Rocky and the crew are great!…read more I had a huge oak in my backyard I needed removed because it had grown so large it was interfering with a foundation. This was a behemoth of a tree 80 feet tall with a 120 inch trunk circumference. Here was the challenge, there was no way to get a boom truck or any other equipment into my back yard so they had to do the whole thing old school, piece by piece. Now one might say it's not that big a deal, but my back yard is a fully mature landscape which includes all the lighting, sculptures, a building, a gazebo and irrigation. Rocky and the team removed that monster down to a 6" stump and left my yard clean and pristine. Rocky's Tree Service is prompt, communicated with us on meeting times, was able to respond quickly and got the job done all in less than a day. He provided valuable insight into some of our other trees and I will use him again.

The work was not completed, there were only four guys working, yet I was asked for full payment at the time, told that they would come back, but that I would need to continue to pay them for additional time. $2700 for four hours of work and not even completing the job? That is ridiculous. I reached out to the owner about the situation and he essentially said because I had paid him the money, that that was on me. Do not pay these guys upfront for anything and in my opinion, don't hire them.

After 5 years, I'd finally had enough of the 7 huge, 100ft tall, sweet-gum trees in my backyard…read more One of the tree guys who knock on my door every few months said he could remove 4 of them in basically four days for a cut rate deal so, like a fool, I let him take a shot at it. After a week of trying, he had cut down 1/2 of one tree and ruined many ornamentals in my yard so I told him to scram. I found Arbormax using Google and was impressed by their web site and testimonials. I called them for an estimate and one was arranged for about a week later. I wasn't able to be there for the estimate but the estimator left it in my mailbox. I was impressed that he left a computer printed estimate and the price was reasonable. I called him back a couple of times to schedule the work and got his voice mail both times so I called the office number and again, got the voice mail. After a few days of no call back, I called the office again and got on the schedule for about 2 weeks out. I wasn't happy at the long lead time but I suppose it was their peak season. I didn't receive any further contact so I nervously waited the service date hoping they would show up. Sure enough, a crew showed up at about 8:45 and I was surprised to hear they had just driven down to Charlotte from Raleigh. They (the climber and crew) got started but said their foreman was still on his way. I was impressed that they were able to climb and down a tree in under an hour! The foreman arrived as they were finishing and apparently his job was to drive the bobcat that picked up all the logs for hauling off. Yes, I learned at that time that they were going to use a tracked bobcat in my back yard and that was going to completely tear off my lawn. I was actually OK with this but it would have been nice to have some kind of warning in advance....perhaps a call from the main office or something. Around 3 pm, they had all the logs picked up and their next task was to grind the stumps. The foreman then informed me that he only brought a portable stump grinder and it would take him hours to do my stumps with it. He said he called for a larger stump grinder and that it would be here shortly (meaning that day.) I waited around for a few hours before calling the office to see what was going on. I got the voice mail again. I left 2 or 3 more voice mails with the office and with the estimator with not a single call back. I also emailed Tim Robbins but his email was returned. When I finally got through to the office late on Friday I spoke to a woman, who really seemed annoyed that I was just asking when my work could be completed. She said the bigger stump grinding would get to me "next week." When I replied "I need an actual date" she spoke to someone with her and replied "He will be there Monday." The bigger stump grinder did arrive Monday and finished everything within a couple of hours. Excellent work. I spoke to him briefly and he asked how the service was and I told him that the work was great, the communications sucked. He shook his head and apologized and I could tell it wasn't the first time he'd heard that. In summary, Arbormax did great work at a reasonable price and I would recommend them, but be prepared to have a frustrating experience communicating with them. I'm giving them 3 stars: 5 for their service and crew and 1 for their communications and office service. Their website says "Every customer is treated like their only customer" but I sure didn't feel that way.
