We were satisfied with the results but saw a neighbor had hired the team of Moses and Ewing to do their mulch. I noticed it looked like they had a lot of extra bark mulch, which we could use in the backyard, and we asked if he was interested in placing it in the back of our property. He called his boss, William, and we all agreed on a fair price. they are hard workers and cleaned up nicely. In the years to come they may be our new "GO TO" Landscapers if the price is right! Very arrogant person as well. Will never recommend anyone. Very pricey vs. the quality of the service. He will potentially delete the post or will call further to threaten. thats the impression I got of the person. Very dominating and self imposing. Also did not had a good knowledge of landscaping; promised to move rose bushes so I paid the labor in anticipation of that but later on called said not a good time to move the bushes, they will die. Which is good thing that he inquired about it but he shoudl have known these things from the start and should not quote it to begin with and set wrong expectations.

Let me tell you about my experience with Dimitri. I bought a new home, and I had a extensive list…read moreof projects. From chandeliers to lights to faucets to valves... I funneled thousands of dollars into projects over many weeks. When he first quoted me, he said his going rate was $60 per hour... expensive, but if he was reliable and got the job done, I didn't have a problem with it. He does do good work, but I need to warn you, he is extremely messy, and whenever he finishes a project, he will leave trash everywhere and not clean up anything. One of his messes was so bad he did not release he left his own tools behind. He was reliable until this past weekend. He did not show up to install our oven so my husband and I did it ourselves. At 2 pm he told us he was on his way. Then comes my deck steps project. This is when everything changed. He spent 4 days sanding 7 steps and 2 handrails. Shows up between 10-12 and left at 5-6 daily, total hours worked 26 hours (verified with cameras). At the end of day one I asked him how much I owed him. He told me it's best to do price at end of project and he was using his going rate which was quoted at $60. Should have been a major red flag to me, but I was like OK $60... he takes a lot of breaks, smoking cigarettes and talking on his phone. Ok, people need breaks, no worries. Yesterday he finished work and it looks HORRIBLE. Even he knows it's bad and says he will come back and paint more. Now here is the kicker, for 2 handrails and 7 steps, it was $3,400!!!! He said it is $3,200 labor and $200 labor. $123/hour!!!! I shared my shock with him and he said paint is hard and dusty. Not $123/hour hard... he absolutely took advantage of a customer and lost multiple others in the process. Because I was initially impressed, many neighbors wanted to use him which will no longer be happening. He came down to $3000 as a favor. Whatever. I paid it and asked him to never come back, he is no longer welcome here. Look at his replies to other comments, he says leave a 5 star review or no review. Unfortunately I will not be bullied by a person who took advantage of me and forces a good review or none. Use his services at your own risk and know that painting is $800/day which is 6 hours, not even a full day. Absolutely insane.

If you're considering hiring this guy read the whole thing…read more I contacted Alex about installing three Italian Cypress trees. He told me since it was such a small job he would have to charge me $1,000 to make it worth his while and that he would work me in in between jobs. A week went by and he never followed up to confirm anything. Fast forward a few weeks and he tells me he is able to get the trees but the price is now $1,700. The justification was that the job was going to take a full day and he couldn't tackle any other projects that day, so the price had to reflect that. We met at $1,600. The morning of the install he calls to inform me that the original nursery sold the trees to someone else and that he found them elsewhere but not all in the same size. So if we wanted these exact trees it would be an extra $100 since one of them was larger than the other two. Not ideal, but we agreed. The job was simple. Dig out and edge a mulch bed and install 3 trees 3 feet apart to create a privacy wall against the fence. Apparently this wasn't clear when I explained it because the trees were spaced about 5 feet apart when I came out to check on the project. They then had to be dug up and moved, which was inconvenient for them since they were rushing to get to their next job. Even with the misunderstanding and essentially redoing the job twice over, Alex and his two-man crew were here less than two hours. Not a full day job at all, just a money grab for Alex, who is unethical and dishonest. Alex's team did not even dig a proper mulch bed, they simply pulled the grass away with a shovel. And they left our yard a complete mess -- mounds of wet clay, roots and grass inside the "bed," and the grass outside of the bed trampled. I had to buy top soil for the trees and more gravel to frame in the bed. After adding mulch myself it looks much better than the pictures, but the pictures are how they left the job. I complained to Alex about the "bed" and he came back four hours later to edge a clean line, but that's all it is, a line. We hired MetroGreenscape for the landscaping in our front yard and they are significantly better at their craft. They also provided plant care instructions, water schedules by season, and warranty information for their work. On the latter, Alex told me that the plants were covered should something go wrong but that we would be responsible for the labor. I have reached out to Alex four times to get the warranty information and he has completely ignored me, I suspect because he knows the trees were not properly installed and may not survive. Alex is fine though -- he got his money and is on to the next job. Alex will tell you that the bed was "crispy clean" before the trees had to be moved, that in digging new holes they encountered a large log that had to be removed from the area. However, if they actually took the time to dig a proper bed in the first place, that log would have been discovered before they brought the trees into the area. There really isn't a narrative that justifies the end product. Just look at the pictures and ask yourself if Alex's work reflects the $1,700 price tag.
