The paver work will last 50 years, the bushes he selected were large and lush and even bigger than I first selected, everything is well placed and level! The sod work was excellent, they cleaned up everything from gravel in the street and yard to any trash or mess each night. For the Sod, they hand and shovel removed the old weeded areas without pesticides and made sure the earth was properly prepared with a layer of sod dirt before they laid it down. I highly recommend G and R if you want the work done properly and to last. Thank you Gairy and your whole polite and knowledgeable team.

Third job: (Last fall) paid for manual pulling/removal of Bermuda grass from garden beds, plus weed control and mulch. Emphasis on manual removal - explicitly was told they would pull all the Bermuda out manually to get all the roots out. Took a bit of chasing around to get them to actually get it on the books, and then when they did come they just buzzed everything with a string trimmed and sprayed weed killer over that. We agreed to still pay the full price on the condition that Gairy would send a team out in the spring once the Bermuda woke up and inevitably came through the mulch since it wasn't removed. He agreed, and we left it at that. Flash forward to this year and has completely ghosted us and been non-responsive. Even tried asking about having a bunch of other services added so that it wouldn't be a totally free trip, but still No luck. We finally gave up on any hope of getting the promised services, hired Mr. Outdoor Living, dropped like $4K on services with them instead and will be sticking with them next year when we do a sprinkler system and stone retaining walls.

Since this is the second phase on this section of our property, we only needed clearing of bushes and underbrush, grading, fresh soil and seeding. Tree removal and trimming was done this past Spring and walls, plants, beds, and specimen trees will be done in phase three, much of which we can do ourselves. Here's the point: they showed up on time, did the work as stated, finished on time, and cleaned up. Price was exactly as stated. Very professional outfit. I'd hire them again. The lawn mowing service was good and done quickly. The only issue I had was his communication. We…read morewere having normal communication via yelp. I had him cut my lawn two times and everything was great as far as work and the communication. But for some reason the last invoice he sent went to my spam, as if it was sent from a different email account. Long story short he didn't get paid because I didn't receive the invoice until I reached out and asked about it. He sent it to me directly and I paid it. Well I guess he was not happy about that and no longer answered requests to schedule my next cut. Complete radio silence. I had already paid him for the first cut without issue. The second cut's invoice was a weird spam issue. A simple mistake. But then to completely ignore everything after was very unprofessional. Like I said the work he did was great. But that weird silent treatment was not acceptable. That is what keeps him from getting 5 stars. The only reason I am writing this review is for the fact that I am in search of a lawn care company again. I am no longer cutting my own grass and when I requested quotes, he was the first to give me a quote which made me laugh.

We had a persistent roof leak in our bedroom that worsened with every storm. We called Vince, who…read moreinspected the area & recommended a patch job. After the first repair, it leaked again. Vince returned, "resealed" & added tiles. Next rain--no leak. We thought it was resolved. Another storm, leak returned. Vince came back, "expanded the area," resealed, & retiled again. This cycle repeated. Frustrated but appreciative that he kept returning to fix it--until the next big storm. This time, the leak came back worse, with 3 leak points instead of 1. We gave up & hired a new roofer. Best decision we made! The new roofer found 3 separate active leaks & rotted wood beneath the tiles. He was shocked that this was missed. The wood was so decayed the nails weren't even holding. No real inspection, no proper fix, just slapdash patches on a failing structure. Bottom line: this issue could've been caught and resolved correctly. We wasted time & money. If you've hired Universal--double check their work!
