The whole experience left the bride overwhelmed and disappointed. We originally booked for 10:00 AM, but the owner called the bride and asked her to come at 9 AM instead. When we arrived, the books had not been updated, so we were double booked and had to wait for a stylist to come in. Nothing from the bride's wish list was pulled, and none of her requested dresses were even in store. If they had reviewed her wish list ahead of time and been honest, we would not have come. Instead, they just kept pulling random dresses that were not her aesthetic or style. The process was painfully slow. Only four dresses were tried on in the first hour, with a 40-minute gap between the third and fourth. Eventually I had to start grabbing dresses myself and even helped her get in and out of a few, which is unheard of. Afterward the bride told me that her assistant, Alex, barely assisted and just put each dress over her head, which made everything more frustrating. It was obvious the bridal assistants felt overwhelmed, and it only added to the chaotic atmosphere. I even overheard another group ask if they should just come back tomorrow since it was so clear the staff were behind and overworked. While the attendants were kind, the owner was cold, never introduced herself, and only came in to set rules and restrictions rather than making the bride comfortable. On top of that, do not think about bringing a coffee, it will be confiscated. There were also ring cameras all over the boutique, which made the experience feel uncomfortable and invasive. The shop advertises pages of dresses online that they do not even carry in store, which feels misleading. The whole appointment was chaotic, and the bride left feeling overwhelmed and disappointed. Having just gone through wedding dress shopping last year for my own wedding and having an extremely different, positive experience made this appointment even more disappointing. I wish we had read the reviews for this shop before booking. After the fact, it is clear our experience was almost identical to what other brides have described. Tips if you are thinking about booking here: * Call ahead and confirm that the dresses you see online are actually available in store. * Double and triple check that you are not double booked and that they have enough staff to give you their full attention. * If you do go, make sure Mary is not your bridal attendant. * Honestly, the best tip is to just book somewhere else. After my friend picked her dress, we also asked about veils to which Allie picked a few out. She even went as far as bringing one from the back that had just been brought in. That newer veil ended up being the one my friend went home with. We were given complimentary champagne to toast to finding my friend's dress & veil. Overall, Allie and Cherie's Bridal made the process of finding a dress seamless. My friend (and I) had such a great experience overall. Local tailors were also provided to help with any alterations. Cherie's is accessible right off the parking lot (there's a direct entrance), and can also be reached through the inside of the Savage Mill building if you come in from the Big Lot.

After letting us in and greeting us warmly, she asked what the criteria were: approximate sizing, budget, sensory issues, shape preferences, color preferences, and so forth. Then she grabbed a few things from the back (new arrivals) and showed us where to browse. With a selection of 5 or 6 dresses to get us started, she got my friend set up in the changing room and stayed close to help her with awkward zippers, pinning the dress to fit better, and so forth. We also greatly appreciated her creative ideas on how to incorporate our friend's partner's tartan into the accessories, how to work the bustle, other modifications, and so forth to help the dress best fit our friend's needs. She was attentive and helpful without being overbearing and without distracting from the process. So glad that it was our first (and ultimately last stop) because she also helped our friend, who was initially very nervous, feel comfortable. And then, because we had another appointment elsewhere after this one, we told her that one of the dresses was a top contender and was likely to be the one. She said she'd stick it back in the back where she'd find it and gave us her cell number to let her know what we thought after the second appointment. The other appointment wasn't bad but it wasn't nearly the same experience and ultimately the dress at Fairytale couldn't be matched. A few things to note: 1) Unlike many other places, Annapolis Formal and Tuxedo usually does not alter the dresses until a month or two before the wedding. Their reasoning is that most brides gain or lose weight before their wedding, so the closer to the wedding, the better. I absolutely love that I don't have to do 8 different fittings (or some other outrageous number). It just makes solid good sense. 2) Alterations are $380--I'm not sure how that price relates to other places. 3) Appointments only. 4) Flavia and her family members have owned the company for the past 27ish years.
