She did the minimum, I asked for all over color and highlights, received non noticeable highlights, and she said she does the coloring at the same time, so I won't be there all day. Did not get all over color but was charged. Also wanted a cut and style, she barley cut at all, I would say don't waste your money on this over priced salon that clearly did the minimum for the max. They are a scam in my opinion. Only concerned with up charging, I was charges 60 dollars more than quoted. And I look the same as I did when I arrived pretty much, should have gone to great clips. This salon is overrated to be sure!

I have had experiences where I have felt that they didn't want to do my hair. I. Thinking, is it that bad? I haven't experienced welcoming stylists there. Not friendly at all. I've asked about twists and they act like they hadn't had any availability at all for it. Not for that day or other days. It was very strange. I never had this experience anywhere else. I thought, let me give them another chance and tried a different day. They told me to wait until the lady come which I'm assuming is the owner. She had no time in her schedule either. She didn't even check a schedule to see when she would have availability. The customer service here is very poor especially walking out feeling like, what the heck? Nobody in there wants to do my hair? As a black woman with natural hair, I thoughts alone who say they specialize in natural hair, would make you feel welcome and help you embrace your transition. So glad I found a different salon that is extremely helpful in fostering healthy hair!

Being New to the QC it has been a struggle to find a place to get my hair done as I am now Natural…read more My daughter has been natural since birth (never had a chemical) and I've tried a salon or two for her hair which is very long and it has worked out for what it's worth. I ran across SenKay Hair which is located in a Salon Suite with 30 plus other salons across from the Arboretem on Providence. The owner Yesenia is a one woman show and she is amazing. My first visit I didn't get what I came for and I was a tad bit hurt, however she is a professional and I respect her input. I did the BIG CHOP back in December of 2012 and had been flying home to my stylist in Chicago to get sew-in's (protective style) until my hair reached a certain length. Yesenia saw my hair fresh out of a sew-in three days prior to my arrival and she suggested a shape up as oppose to what I came for which was a color. She wanted my hair to be cut even and breath for a while before adding color which made sense so I appreciated her input once I left and got so many compliments on my High Top Fade (Sorta - more light a light bulb cut to ensure my hair grows out the way I intend it to grow = LARGE up top and tappered around the sides and back. Yesenia told me to let my hair breath and come back in two weeks for a color which actually worked out perfectly because it was Mother's Day Weekend and I wanted something different for Mother's Day My second and most recent visit I returned to Yesenia the Wednesday before Mother's Day which was 10days after my cut and she worked her hands through my tresses and noticed the growth and shine and was happy to provide me with color. I left feeling BRAND NEW and LOVED IT.... Pros:Yeseinia of SenKay Hair uses very high quality organic products and she is very pleasant and professional. Cons: It is HARD to get an appointment because she is a ONE WOMAN show..
