He made a reservation in advance and we originally thought it was for a tasting and set menu but when we arrived we were sat at a dining table and given menus. The place was packed so you can tell it was a popular place. Staff was welcoming and attentive. The owner even came over to greet us. You can order wine by the glass or you can pay for a tasting of all that they offer. I opted for this because I really didn't know which I liked yet and wanted to sample them all. My fav was the blackberry blueberry wine. Actually ended up taking 4 bottles home!

The tasting area is very small so I chose to do a flight instead of my original plan of tasting. I did 4 pours for just under $10 which was a good deal. I took my flight and sat out back enjoying the beautiful day while a guy playing violin (the entertainment for the afternoon) played. I ended up buying a bottle of Honeymoon to bring home at $18.99. I also tried Duet, Blueberry Pie and a Raspberry. The Raspberry was my runner up. I thought it was neat that they had a whole back store with single selection of beers and ciders for the non wine drinkers at a reasonable price. I'll go back when my besties come to visit and try again as I feel this place has potential for another star .

The wine was lightly sweet and not dry. The blueberry flatbread tasted more of the caramelized onions and the blueberry drizzle added a little hint of sweetness and tartness. My favorite though was the blueberry shortcake. It was soft and the blueberry compote was absolutely delicious. Although it was rich, it didn't feel heavy. I wish I had gotten another slice. In general, I've been here before and it's nice and cozy inside with great service! I love trying all the flavors available with their wine and beer flights (some are seasonal). Honestly, sometimes I buy their wine by the bottle in stores because it's actually just that good.

We went in to check out the vibe and when told the ladies behind the counter we were just stopping by quick because our dog was in the car one of them immediately said he was welcomed too. They have a very nice outside area on the back were dogs are welcomed. So we stayed for a full tasting and ordered the charcuterie board to pair them with. The tasting price is amazing, only $0.75/ sample and they have about 6 - 8 wines to taste, whites and reds, plus their sangria. You can pick which ones you want to try, they put them on the tasting tray for you, and you can either stay inside or enjoy the outside area. The Hibiscus wine was very interesting to us, and ended up buying a bottle. The Rustic Red is almost as if it has soda in it making it refreshing for the Summer time. And the Petit Syrah was the other one that I would recommend. The Sangria was sweet, and only available to drink there. And there are plenty of tables to sit. I think there were some ladies playing the Chinese domino game, it starts with an "m". Got to meet the owner Ray and he picked out a fantastic Cab for me, it was the Story Storypoint Cab out of California. Later I also had the Martin Ray and in my opinion it was not as good, but it was a heavier mouth feel and it had layers to it. They have a piano player Wednesday and Saturday. He shows up around 6pm. So they have free slasa and chips in the back corner most nights. On Tuesday the have tacos. And Tuesday there are meatballs. On Friday they have Karaoke around 7. If you like wine, or you are an enthusiast, this would be a great place to visit if you find yourself in Winter Haven Florida. They have buy one glass 2nd half price. If you buy a bottle and stay, it is a $15 corkage fee. We kind of did the math and depending on the pour, and their pours are generous, it is cheaper to buy by the glass. When you visit they your own math gymnastics. Bottom line, Grape Expectations, the wine is great. The service is exceptionally better. And if you like a mellow vibe with great wine.
