At the same time, another employee positioned an iPhone near where we were standing, which made us feel uncomfortable and singled out. We are both African American, and the behavior of the employees felt prejudiced and unnecessary. We entered the store fully intending to purchase fragrances, but left feeling disappointed and unwilling to spend our hard-earned money in an environment where we felt judged rather than welcomed.

This particular Nordstrom Rack is in The Block Northway shopping center. This Nordstrom Rack has two floors. The top level contains merchandise for men, children, and home, and the bottom level contains merchandise for women. I focused on the women's clothing. I saw an assortment of shirts, pants, shorts, dresses, coats, and other apparel that previous retailers could not sell. I recognized brands such as Calvin Klein and Nike, but I had not previously heard of some of the other brands. I thought that the prices were low to moderate. I decided to purchase a pair of UnionBay shorts for $23. The cashier quickly and correctly rang up my purchase.

The first time I visited a couple of months ago, the employee was not wearing a mask. She was very nice, however all I noticed was the lack of mask which made me uncomfortable and I left soon after. This time, both employees were masked and socially distanced and I felt much better shopping. What I noticed is that some awesome improvements have been made! I started consigning at the store years before. I had some negative experiences which saw me stop consigning. Namely, I felt that the owner was not knowledgeable about certain designers and also rude. I had consigned some Giuseppe Zanotti shoes that were new without tags and they priced them at $24. By the time they'd sent me the price sheet and I called to address their error, they'd already been sold. This happened a few times, and I noticed that merch seemed to be way underpriced or way overpriced with seemingly little rhyme or reason to their system. I also spotted them selling a clearly fake Louis Vuitton bag once - the monogram pattern lined up incorrectly and the seams were in the wrong place. Basically, I had long-term issues with their pricing and merchandising. The other thing that left a bad taste in my mouth is that one day while shopping, the owner and employee were discussing politics and their clearly Republican leanings. Discussing politics in front of me, a customer, was rude and a faux pas plus I did not agree with their opinions at all. So, I stopped consigning and shopping with them. When I discovered that the store was under new ownership, I had to give Kindred Spirits another chance. This time, I noticed that prices are more uniform and their merchandise is more current. I saw lots of Anthropologie brands, brands that had been missing under the old ownership, plus many items new with tags. The staff has been so kind both times I've visited and, other than the mask issue, I've really enjoyed shopping with them again. I'm planning on consigning again soon. I found some really cute things, placed them on the counter and no one came to help me. There are some really nice things in the store but I don't like being ignored and treated rudely.

OshKosh offers a lot of denim - from multiple jean fits to classic overalls - with a accompanying t-shirts. The product also seems to be a higher price. As my daughter is currently wearing 0-3 months, I am buying more Carter's clothing today but will definitely start shopping OshKosh more as she gets older.

Prices are slightly lower than other stores' prices. This store also has a pharmacy, vision center, and photo center. During my most recent visit, I returned some merchandise that I had purchased online, and I bought additional merchandise in person. At the customer-service desk, I had to wait in line for several minutes before an employee served me. For some reason, he thought that my pillows and pillow covers were from two separate orders, but after I explained, he correctly refunded my payment to my credit card. In the store, I looked at office supplies and over-the-counter medications, and I founded what I needed. I felt happy with the quality and prices of those products. I used the self-checkout and experienced no problems with the machine.
