Very disappointed with the manager's rude and unprofessional attitude. Customer service should always start with basic respect.

Other reviews are definitely accurate when describing the customer service (or lack thereof). The ladies working seemed annoyed at my very presence. I brought in 2 large bags of clothes in, they bought 10 items for $7. They also won't tell you how much they'll pay you over the phone, so I ended up driving there and back twice. Overall if there were other options to sell to, I would. The amount of clothes in the store was good, not sure about quality as I didn't get a good look. read more

My experience at this store was very positive. I was only buying, not selling. However the store was clean, well-organized, and well-staffed. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The selection was also great. I appreciated that they held items for me at the front while I shopped. I also appreciated that they had a restroom. I will say though, you won't be able to fit a wheelchair in the bathroom. The door is probably too narrow. The bathroom was clean and had a changing table. Overall, this seems like a great location. I would definitely recommend it as a nice option for more affordable/ecologically friendly clothes, shoes, and toys. read more

Once Upon A Child - Great selection! Grabbed a few things... - Children's Clothing Near Me - Westlake, Ohio

This is the 5th time we have come to this location and tried to drop off clothes. They haven't excepted the clothes any time. This time I called ahead at my lunch break at 1:45 and they said that we could drop off till 6. They would not except the clothes at 5:30 because they said someone quit at 2. But they still had 3 other people working. And they told me that I should have called ahead. I did. Then they were yelling at me because they wouldnt except clothes during their time frame. read more

Once Upon a Child is a great children's resale clothing shop in Westlake. I have frequented this store for several years. I can't say enough about the wonderful quality of clothing there. And the low prices. They have a huge, always changing variety of clothes. They have play clothes, more elegant clothing, bathing suits, outerwear and shoes. They have a limited amount of toys and baby items. They are definitely worth a stop! read more

based off what many have said the customer service just isn't there. Rude. I haven't been in the store for a while and thought maybe would be different but still very much the same. It's unfortunate because the store has a lot to offer. read more

Store was very clean and organized which I appreciated! Unfortunately a few employees besides 1 was very rude and seemed annoyed I had another child with me. Quickly picking things up my child had on the floor for 15 seconds (I'm very pregnant with triplets so takes a minute to pick things up) and being rude about it. I kindly wished them the day they deserved. read more

Great deals on kids' clothes and typically a wide selection, too. Then update inventory regularly, so there's always something new to find, including basics like Carter's and upscale brands like Hanna Andersson. BUT... it's a small, cramped space with no room for strollers (tough for a kids shop) and VERY unfriendly staff -- like, literally never friendly. At best, they're stoic; at worst, they're actively rude. Tough vibe, but for the mort part, it's worth it for good deals. Just know what you're getting into and brace yourself! read more

Possibly one of the most unfriendly stores to go to but you can find decent deals sometimes.

The value of the clothes is great! Good quality & good condition Most of the women who do work here are very kind EXECPT for this one older woman who works there. I'm unsure if she's management or not but, if you're going to work at a kids store... maybe don't have a bad attitude & get nasty with people? She was very very rude multiple times to customers AND employees. In front of me & my sister she yelled at another employee to " stop touching her computer " and then got nasty at me telling me to " please not remove hangers because it's an inconvenience because she has to count everything " which does not make sense considering everything is individually priced. You can also hear her yelling up front as you're walking around in the store. Just very rude & unprofessional. The younger girls are so kind & there is another older woman with longer curly hair who is also EXTREMELY kind. That associate/manager should be retrained/demoted because she can't even talk to people nicely. She's very very rude & forward not only to customers but, her own employees. If doing your job is that hard for you - don't work customer service. Sadly, will now be shopping at the Macedonia store because this is my 3rd time dealing with the same woman with the same bad attitude. Honestly, I would come back if the staff was nicer & actually understood how customer service is but, I highly doubt it since this seems to be how it is 24/7. read more

I was shocked by how immediately rude the ladies were as soon as I stepped into the store. When we asked for help, they verbally scoffed. They scolded my 80 year old mother for looking at an unlabeled item that was on the floor, which apparently was another customer's item that they had rejected. I asked which area was items for sale and which were returned items for clarification and they again gave us so much attitude that we both decided to walk out the door. I truly can't believe these are Ohio people. Awful. Awful. Awful. read more

I love it here. Great staff and always find great deals for my children. I like to bring in items to be sold and usually find more to buy.

I've always thought the customer service was awful. I just looked at reviews and I see I'm not the only one who thinks this. They must not care since they are the only store like this in the area. I hate giving places with horrible customer service my business. I still go because it's nice to buy stuff cheaper than brand new....but I would go in more often if the employees were even remotely polite! They are all horrible. I also can tell they talk about me (and everyone else) every time I leave....or any other custome. You can always hear their loud and obnoxious conversations amongst each other....UNTIL a person is walking out. Just whispers then! It's a bunch of middle aged women who look like they're MUCH older than they are...BUT they ACT like immature, rude children!! Just had a horrible experience again today. These women are absolutely horrible. Never, ever again! read more

I guess they don't realize that their business is based on people. From the time you walk in the door nothing but attitude and rudeness. Made my 77 year old mother unload her car herself and then had her take most of it away anyway. Shame on you pompous owners and staff. Hope to see you close your doors soon. You do not deserve the Westlake community supporting you. read more

The staff is horribly rude. I've decided not to give them my business anymore. We only shop there because of the location but we will drive to another one. There is also jellybeans in Avon we just found! read more

I love Once Upon A Child Westlake. I'm happy buying and selling there and have always had a positive experience with the employees. I have been a customer for over 5 years! Review the website or Facebook page before you go and maybe you will have a better selling experience there. You can also call ahead if you are shopping for a specific item! read more

Once Upon a Child In WESTLAKE has everything you need for children at a affordable price. Linda and her staff are welcoming, friendly and very helpful. read more

Hands down the worst customer service you will ever encounter. Even if this location is conveniently located near you-- I don't suggest going there. You're better off giving your baby clothes to a better establishment or taking the time to sell them yourself. These women don't know how to treat people read more

Great staff, very helpful. A lot of stuff looks brand new and the prices are amazing. Love going here. Thank you!

All in all, this is a good clean kid's resale shop. I've bought and sold here. Of course they can't give you top dollar for your used stuff, or they couldn't afford to be in business. The workers can be a bit aloof, but what do I care? I get money on the spot for my grandkid's used things that I would otherwise donate. I have purchased wonderful toys, clothes, and shoes for my grandkids at fair prices. This is my go-to place to shop before I shop retail. read more

One of the staff members at the Westlake store was by far the cockiest, most rude woman I've ever had the displeasure to encounter. Shed taken in my items I had to sell, which I couldn't be bothered with the $14.50 she gave me for diapers and a brand new unopened multi-sex $100 toddlers weighted blanket and a new learning stroller toy. She treated me like she hated me. I waand dressed to offend, I didn't swear or get rude to her- I was very polite from start to finish- how i was raised. But there was something wrong with this woman or shed just had a horrible day and decided to take it all out on me complaining to me about any little thing i did and being really bossy. It's a real shame. Other than this particular woman- everything else was fine and good. It's because of her alone that I've given one of my favorite stores a 1 star reveiw. (Btw, didn't get her name but she was a white/tanned middle aged woman with dark blonde hair and van be easily recognised by her garbage attitude) read more

Awful rude people. They don't tell you what they take, just say here's what we'll give you. While I was waiting looked at clothes, selling a Walmart dress with STAINS on them, but wouldn't take my brand new baby gap clothes. Dirty, crappy over priced stuff. BEWARE! Do not waste your time! read more

I like the selection of clothes and toys but have frequently been disappointed by interactions with the staff, particularly when bringing in items to sell. The instructions on the website (and, I should add, on the physical door of the store!) are contradicted by what the staff say. I recently went in with a tote bag of clothes to sell and was told by an employee that they only accept clothes in plastic bins ( when I mentioned that the website says tote bags are accepted, she begrudgingly stated that hard plastic bags would be accepted but only if "it's the only thing you have"). I was also told that they only buy until 4 pm, when the store door clearly states "We buy inventory up to 1 hour before closing", which is 5 pm. I really feel that it is poor customer service to have the guidelines on the website and store be inconsistent with what staff say in person. I will think twice about patronizing this store in the future and will certainly be less enthusiastic about recommending it to friends. read more

I've only been here a few times, but the service has been horrible both of my visits. I checked reviews after my visits and noticed a lot of people had the same opinion about the bad service here. The staff is very rude. I checked online beforehand to see what items they will take to resell, it also tells you what you can bring your items in (a box, a container, or a tote was on the website). They didn't accept to resell most of my baby gear that it said they accepted on their website, ALSO I brought baby clothes in an empty diaper box for them to sort through and they told me they would not sort through it because it was in an empty diaper box. Then proceeded to tell me they started this rule after Corona started even though on their website it clearly says you can bring items in for them to sort through in an empty box. I highly recommend NOT going here it's not worth your time or money. You'd be better off selling your items on Marketplace if you want a bit of cash for them, or donating them to Goodwill, Salvation Army, or Volunteers of America. I will not be going back here anymore due to bad service all around both visits. read more

I have been going here for the last few years. It's a good store to find pretty good clothes. However, some are mismatched sizes so always check the actual tag and as picky as they seem with taking clothes in I have noticed stained clothes when shopping. They are not great for getting money and hardly give you anything for really nice name brand clothes and rarely if ever take all or most of what you bring despite them saying they are accepting all seasons right now (August 2020). It's a little something but if you want to make at least a couple bucks per item especially if gently or never worn sell on FB. read more

Pros: Play area for your children & Very Well organized. Cons: Worst customer service ever, if you want to feel like a 2nd class citizen, go here. The staff are cold, and if you ask a question, expect the women to be annoyed that they need to stop socializing with their fellow co-worker. Also, their prices are rather high and they do not include pictures of the infant play mats they have stuffed in sealed bags. Pardon me if I would like to see the used item I am considering purchasing. P.S. I should have listened, their reviews on google are spot on. read more

Nicely organized store with good selection and excellent prices! I picked up nine items that were exactly what I wanted to round out my toddler's wardrobe for less than $21. read more

Obviously they don't give you retail payouts to buy back your used items, but it's great to get something for the stuff I would otherwise donate. The gals working were polite and courteous. And they got me a payout within a reasonable amount of time based on the amount of stuff I had. And the store itself had a great selection. I got most of my Christmas shopping done, and still got paid! read more

I should have read the reviews first before going because the staff was very rude and very unhelpful. They gave me attitude from the minute I walked in, I will never be going there again, I'd rather give my stuff to good will for free than to deal with any of those rude women again. read more

Extremely rude staff. I am surprised it's still in business. Disregard the merchandise I was immediately turned off by the sales staff. Eye rolling and unhelpful manners. Took a few seconds to scan items in store. High price. Low quality. Save the time and shop else where. The worst retail service I've ever experienced. My first review for poor attitude. read more

Great place to buy and sell children's toys, gear, and clothing. Items are in good condition. The gear and larger toy items can be a little higher priced than expected for being used. We mainly purchase clothing , shoes and small toys there. read more

Horrible customer service...The owner of the place is extremely rude...And the worst part is they buy your used stuff super cheap and then go sell it for triple the amount.I just recently went to sell some of my baby stuff (Witch is less then a year old) and the owner didn't want to buy my bouncer bc the battery's didn't work but as I'm walking out they just bought a 3 wheel stroller off someone that was extremely filthy! read more

Horrible customer service. Makes you wait forever, when no ones even in the store, just to try to sell a few items. Their times for buying are so specific and not listed anywhere on their website, neither are their hours. Id rather keep my clutter than sell to this place. Until they hire new employees at least. Never again. Marshalls has better prices and they're not second hand. read more

This store is awful. First, it's EXTREMELY cramped and dirty. Don't bring a stroller because you can't navigate through the aisles with it. Next, the staff is always extremely rude. The prices are way too high for resale items. Don't sell your baby items here because they give next to nothing then sell it for a lot more. Did I mention the staff is always SUPER rude? Even if the prices were reasonable I wouldn't shop here simply bc of the terrible customer service. Based on others reviews, it seems others have received the same terrible service. read more

Customer service was terrible! I asked simple questions in regards to what they would take, made me feel stupid rather than giving me a straight answer. I know everyone has bad days, but I was in three times and received the same treatment from all employees. I even complemented how nice the store was compared to others I had been to. I won't be going back and may contact the manager since it's happened all three times of visiting the store. Just a shame. read more

Just for future reference if anyone is wondering this location does not buy clothes on Sunday. I would suggest calling before you even go. There was nothing wrong with my experience at the store I just wish that I would've known before driving 45 minutes that that was their policy. read more

Slow unhelpful employees. I took in some items to sell and it took them a long time to go through what I brought in and decide what they wanted and what they did not need. At one point there were several customers waiting to have their used items evaluated and one of the two employees was on a personal phone call rather than helping the customers. This store is decent if you just want to buy their used clothes and not sell them your used items. read more

I go in every once in awhile to find sleepers or stuff on clearance.. But when I went to checkout I was told the very few items I had picked from clearance wasn't gonna be clearance because I didn't go by the sale they were doing (10/$10)... So WHY mark it clearance then if you're just gonna make me pay the ticketed price even if there is a sale... It's STILL marked CLEARANCE... Don't get it at all... And I usually like shopping there when I can... Yeah it woulda been cheaper to get more items off clearance and I woulda paid $1 more than I did... But I didn't wanna just grab items either when there wasn't a huge selection and I'm picky on my clothes.. I left kinda upset and mad but I didn't show it while inside... But on my way home all I kept thinking was REALLY... Why mark it clearance if it's not clearance regardless of a sale or not.... Clearance is clearance... Should have only paid half of what I did... read more
