A Ok location. I love that you can get gently used items for littles at this chain. They outgrow clothes so quickly so to spend a lot on them really never made sense to me. This location is smaller than some of the sister stores, and it feels more crowded. The aisles are difficult to shop with a cart, and if there are people going two different directions in the same row, it's pretty much a smooshed feeling. That being said, they have a ton of product to look through, great sales, and the staff is friendly. They do buy gently used items. I've never sold to them myself. There is almost always a wait to get your items priced, so make plenty of time in your schedule to do that it you want to sell. I really like the idea of this it's basically a Plato's Closet but for children's thing you can go there to sell your gently used items or to purchase items I went to purchase I found some really nice baby toys and surprisingly I was skeptical but they were fine. Got them home pop some new batteries in them and we are good to go. This store was not what I expected with the prices and the attitudes. This is the first location of Once Upon A Child that I have ever visited. I see now that it is a franchise. I may try the one in Hunter's Creek - but won't run to go there. Customer Service: There is none. I get better treatment at the local Goodwill store . No one took the moment to speak other than one girl that I spoke to FIRST (she was nice enough to respond with one word) and the worker that walked between me and the clothing rack( he noticed my shocked nasty look because if he was 2 inches closer he would have rubbed up on my body parts). Organization: Well organized small store. Things fit extremely tight in the space. Prices: Ridiculous. I was shopping for my 1 year old son. The cheapest USED shirts that I saw were $3.50. I can get cute things NEW from Marshalls for that cost. (Cheaper if it's on clearance!) I did see a couple of new shirts , but of course they were triple the price. The toy bikes were $15 and up - I'll buy him something new that is not faded and spend a little bit more Overall - I have seen consignment shops that had better priced merchandise - and nicer people. Last Tuesday I visited the location off Sand Lake Road in Orlando, Florida and received horrible, offensive imprudent service. This complaint is directed towards the service I received from the the owner herself. The store owner was rude, passive aggressive, sarcastic and at times demeaning towards me. I would proceed to say something, she would repeat it and look at me like I was an idiot. At one point during the transaction, I actually asked her if something I said offended her because she was incredibly rude to me. After I finished with the cashier I received several rude glares from the owner from behind the counter and what may have appeared to be intimidating towards me she was actually making her staff very uncomfortable. I can't fathom her being in a position of leadership, it's abundantly clear the negative ambience she has created in the store in comparison to other positive upbeat Once upon a child locations. Towards the end of my visit I told her how offended and displeased I was with the way she treated me and all she said was "I'm sorry you feel that way," so I told her I will be writing a review and her reply was "well I'm the owner" like my review wouldn't matter. . This is probably the worst service I have ever experience, and to receive poor treatment from the Owner nonetheless is absolutely pitiful. The way she made eye contact, the tone of her voice and the level of sheer disrespect illustrates poor customer service skills. I have been buying and selling at Once Upon a Child for over ten years and have visited this particular location since it opened. Today after selling them over $150 in merchandise, I was loading the "rejects" back into the car and found that a walker they'd passed on had been damaged, so I went back in to find out what could be done to repair it. The ladies that had handled the transaction said they'd only turned the knob that was now not functioning but admitted they didn't know how it was supposed to operate. They then brought out the Manager/Owner to assist. Immediately after coming out from the back room, she sized my father and I up. I'm not sure if it was because we were dressed casually, or because we are African-American, but everything after went horribly awry. Where I'd expected an apology and maybe $10, she was determined to make no compromise at all. Without fully understanding the situation or my value as a long standing customer, she first attempted to solve the problem without understanding exactly what that was. She was patronizing and curt, repeatedly twisting the knob and saying, "So what's the problem?" I reiterated that the mechanism worked when we came in and while we are fine that they passed on the item, in the process of deciding that, the item was now unusable. She then went on to insinuate that it may have been broken before we came in, as if I was trying to scam the place out of a few dollars. I am an engineer by training and had tested the mechanisms before bringing the item in. Adding insult to injury, she never offered any apology and then said the best she could do was a $5 coupon to come back. I declined and stated that I would not be shopping at this location ever again. Her lack of customer service skills and patronizing attitude made it clear to me that she considers her patrons to be poor, uneducated, scam artists, as that is how we were treated without cause. I feel sorry for her employees, who were apparently more concerned about whatever repercussions she would dole out than the potential impact to a baby sitting in a walker that would not function correctly. There are many options for parents in Orlando and I encourage others to seek out alternatives, as this behavior should not be rewarded and will not be tolerated. I have had very good interactions at the Colonial Drive and Alafaya Rd. locations. read more

This is where we've bought all of our daughters toys and her baby swings and play pens for half the cost of what they were in the store. Babies and mamas who most likely can not afford brand new things shop there. I personally never ever charge any money for used baby supplies when it comes to getting rid of some. If other children need it, you give it and don't try to profit from it. Love the fact that they are being green and give points for not using plastic bags. This helps greatly when I compile my next haul in the future. I have purchased and sold at Once Upon A Child in many states over the past several years. All the toys are in pristine condition and the clothes are clean and well organized. The employees were very helpful and quickly purchased the few items we brought in. I went to this store at 3:50 and the employees were very nasty to me and told me they couldn't take my items because they close at 5 and stopped taking things at 4. Instead of having some class and show that you have customer service skills, they employees got very nasty and rude with me. They were very rude and I will never go back to this store. Unless you want to deal with these ghetto girls like Genesis, you should not come to this location. Very disappointing. I brought in a basket full of name brand (Gymboree, Baby Gap, Hanna Andersson, Mini Boden, etc) clothes for them to buy. All the clothes were in excellent condition and most only worn a couple times. They looked through and called me about an hour later with the offer. I went in and they wanted to offer me $10.50 for about 20 of the items! No thank you!! I can go on eBay and sell them for much more than that! Also, took a HUGE wooden train track lot with 100+ pieces and trains, many of them the expensive Thomas trains. The guy looked through quickly and offered me $4.00. What an insult! I took it home and listed on Craigslist for $150 and was sold within a day. Some of the ladies are friendly, some aren't, if you sell them items even large items you will get less than expected, should always have proof of how much u spent on the item(s). When they have a sale it's very unorganized on the sale items, the store isn't very big but is clean but again not much room to walk and shop. read more

Not what I expected. I brought several items today, including two Munchkin Loft Wood safety gates, one of them new. Some of the items where new (Babies r us Stroller Weather Shield, Munchkin Fresh Food Feeder) and others in very good condition (Dr. Brown Bottles Dryer, Safety First Bottle Heater, Sassy Playmat). They called me about an hour later to tell me they had the quote ready. When I went to the store to find out the offer, they told me they could not buy the used gate (which I totally understand) along with two more items, but still I had a new gate plus five more items in the quote, so I was fine with it. To my surprise they offered me $19 for all the items. I asked again because I couldn't believe it. The gate alone costs $130 if you buy it new. I was not expecting the original cost, of course, but $19 is really an insult. I wasted my time and gas today. read more

I'm not one to write a review at all unless I'm pissed or very thrilled. Turns out this location pissed me off. Normally I go to the one in Altamonte springs, love it. I mean love it mud pie, free people, koala baby boutique and Lilly Pulitzer sometimes you never know. Staff on point. I'm shopping for a baby girl. Back to this once upon a child. The store layout was dysfunctional. I mean there shoes were in two parts. Also There shoes were Dirty with candy stuck on them for $10 and you name what else cause I can't. The Toy shelfs empty. Clothes were worn to the fullest and the prices made me want to walk to the other side of the plaza to buy new. Plus selling to them is a joke. They made me feel bad about what I brought them and went on and on about it. I said ok three times. Something's we're new. I wanted to say something but I said thank you and left. The staff was unbelievable not in a good way. Makes me think about the good reviews wonder if they work there cause there's nothing good about this store. Left with nothing.
