I do enjoy this store when just browsing. They have a lot of items and for the most part they're in decent shape. Some of the shoes are questionable though, so I'm not sure how they decide what to put out for sale. They have a great selection of hair accessories for girls - I love their character bows! The store itself is on the small side and you can't have more than two people in an aisle at a time as it gets very cramped quickly. They recently had a coat sale outside and that was pretty decent and organized well. We got a cute pair of snow pants and a jacket for my daughter for cheap! I also recently purchased a small stroller that was in good shape and again, quite cheap! The staff have all been pleasant and kind on my visits. read more

Do not sell shoes to them. . The worst part is they don't tell you what they are taking mor what they are paying. Just hand back what they don't want and what they will pay you. Just don't bother selling to this place. In addition, to long wait times ( regardless of what they say your estimated time will be) to extreme low balling and no knowledge of product from staff, not worth it. As for buying, you may find some gems but once again the issue starts with buying. They are very heavy on target and TJ Maxx brands. I saw Tahari dresses priced at $15 plus, I guess no one told them that's what it costs to buy it new at TJ maxx or Marshall's. Also just because it's baby gap, doesn't mean you should be pricing biker shorts at $6 while Gap is having a sell for the same shorts. The pricing is decent, but for how picky some people are I'm shocked at some of the items that have made it to the floor in their condition. Aisles are too tight only one person can go at a time. Also, they are pricing things with thrift store pricing still on the tags for 3x higher and when you mention it, they get rude and will not help fold clothing and rush you out without ensuring that everything was scanned. I was trying to help the gal checking me out take off hangers and she said I was not helping and not to touch then left everything in several piles and said I should have brought a bag or bought one and stared at me as I was trying to fold things in a nicer way to ensure I was able to carry the books, shoes, and clothes the short way to the car. I wouldn't recommend this location, WY and other stores have better selection and way nicer people working. read more

I love this store to both buy and sell. I buy so much stuff here for my toddler and infant. I think the people who are disappointed in selection might not understand the nature of secondhand shopping. Inventory will be inconsistent and variable. I enjoy the thrill of the hunt and find, so stopping in a few times a month and grabbing the things I like in my kids' sizes is great for me. I do find more baby-sized stuff than older kid things, which makes sense when you think about how hard older kids are on their clothes. Some of my favorite finds are my daughter's spring photo dress for $8 and new Nikes for $10 and the sweetest little Patagonia fleece for my baby for just $8. Everytime I come in, I usually bring stuff to sell. Would I get more money selling things online myself? Yes. Would I always have a buyer? Nope. Selling is hugely convenient, and in return you get less money than if you did all the work yourself. There is a learning curve as to what they buy, and sometimes that curve shifts. Nobody has ever been rude about not buying some of my items. I would recommend that you give yourself time to shop because the store can be busy and check out can take a bit as some people are both buying and cashing in their sells. Well sadly there are many comments in alignment with mine. I have sold to this location for 12 years off and on. About 6 years ago I finally felt like they were rude enough I drove to another Once Upon a Child. There the staff was kind, normal, respectful and friendly. In Fort Collins, the staff felt condescending, power playing, and extremely uncomfortable to work with. Over the last 6 years, I have run into an high number of Fort Collins moms who feel the same way. Also, I found out that many of them also were going to the other location I was going to because the service was worth it. Three years ago I tried Fort Collins location again hoping things had changed, nope, rude, power struggle, and demanding in their service provided or forced really. So I stopped going until just recently. Who am I kidding, I just kept fooling myself going back to a place that has culturally, consistently been rude, demeaning, and unkind. I agree with the review about younger people with a demanding attitude. I have never, not once, had a negative experience at the second store, outside of Fort Collins. It is worth the quick drive to shop there. I am sad this is the treatment and culture put forward by the Fort Collins store STILL. Today was the final straw. I feel sad it took me so long and I gave them so many chances. As someone who teaches the young adults, I know that mutual respect is one of the keys to connecting with others authentically. Today I was told by a much younger person than I, that I needed to "drop the attitude" and that they have had problems with me in the past. The problems in the past parents were that I voiced that I felt uncomfortable at how I was being treated. It is a negative culture, that breeds negativity, not mutual respect. If we are going to make this world a better place, it starts by being kind to one another. This saga of negative culture at Fort Collins Once Upon a Child is alive and well. I am disappointed in their blind and curt lack of social graces. If you need more proof, read other people's perspective. Please be kind to one another. I took one bag of stuff in a few weeks ago. I was told it would be 45 minutes so I waited around for the employees to go through my stuff. After about an hour and a half I went up to ask the status and was told it would be another 45 minutes. I reminded them that I was told that when I walked in. The employee said they would start it now. I explained I was headed out of town and asked if I could pick up next day since they forgot to work on mine and they refused. I took my belongings and left. Zero customer service skills with these folks! I then went to the Greeley store with the same bag of stuff and it took them about 20 minutes. The staff was pleasant and the experience was much better. I thought I would give Fort Collins another chance so I went today and dropped my items off at 1:10. It is now 6:45 and I was just told that my stuff won't be ready for another hour!!! The customer is expected to be back before closing but they don't finish the stuff till closing. There is still no customer service. I walked through the store for an hour and not one person acknowledged me. I have been coming to this store to buy and sell since I worked here in 2006. If you are trying to get rid of clothes do not sell them because they will not take them. They mostly buy very gently used shoes and toy items but if you're bringing clothes and they aren't in brand new condition, The store will not pay you for them. I've tried lots of times to sell my gently used almost brand new baby clothes and I still could not get them to buy them from me I ended up just selling them on Facebook marketplace. I suggest taking them to Goodwill or trying to sell the nice items that you have on Facebook marketplace. I love this store. I'm finally picking up my last sell, as my boys have outgrown the sizes. I'm so appreciative for the last eleven years to find amazing gently used, name brand items. It was a perfect way to keep on top of how fast my boys were outgrowing their clothing. I will say that that when I was in the store a few days ago I watched an awful customer going off on the retail employees about mask mandates. Although I read the numerous negative reviews on this location (and value them), I stopped in here because it was close (and we were on vacation). Apparently the reviews accomplished "change" in how customers are treated. There were 3 young ladies working and all were friendly and helpful. Hooray for positive change! I also bought 3 things for my 19 month old grandson here: a cardigan sweater, a plaid dress shirt, and a sweatshirt with a fuzzy spider on it..all for $12, and in excellent condition. Love shopping there, but every time that I have gone in I wanted to speak to the manager and she is never there when I have gone. I go in mid mornings. I also over heard some employees talking and saying they tried to reach the manger one day and they were not able to get a hold of her. I have also heard that the manager treats a lot of the employees poorly and so not work with them on hours. She also works kids that are in high school and works them late on school nights. Got home and double checked my items and found LEVI, THE GAP, JUSTINE, MUDD, PATAGONIA, GYMBOREE, CHILDRENS PLACE, and others sure there were a lot of other things . They took three items of clothing. One a only shirt from a set. Not even a brand name either. Not worth the price of gas to take it there and pick it up again. Great little store for buying or selling gently used children gear, clothes and maternity items. This store is 80% used clothing, mostly baby/child, but and small aisle of maternity wear. The other 20% is used gear (cribs, strollers, high chairs), toys and books. There is also a very small section devoted to brand new items, including breast pump accessories. This place is great for those items you know they'll probably only wear once, like a fancy outfit for holiday pictures, or even when you just need a few more pairs of pants. Most items are in decent condition, but it's worth digging to find a good deal. Some toy items might be missing a piece or two, but when the price is $8 instead of $30 brand new, you tend not to care as much, your little one will never know! Get on their mailing list, as they have special deal days often. I have never sold anything there, as I am expecting to eventually use my stuff again for baby #2. But it looks to be pretty painless, from what I've read you can get cash or in-store credit. Let's face it, babies are expensive and they outgrow things so fast. Why not buy a gently used item for a fraction of the price! Just throw fabrics in the wash and wipe down the rest with a clorox wipe! read more

Worst place ever. Can't say it enough. I took over 200 pieces of quality clothing to this place and a huge tub of high end toys and dropped them off. The clothing was less than 6 months old and there were expensive toys and furniture. The next day I called in to see if they were done and had a "quote" for me. I didn't expect retail prices, I honestly didn't expect more than $25 for it all because I understand it's resale. The girl I spoke to told me they would give me $7.00 and some change. I asked why and she said the clothing was out of date and the toys were dirty. Well that's funny because the clothes were less than a year old and the toys were in such good condition I took them down there in a plastic tub that cost me $35. Also someone at the store spilled something in the tub and made all the toys sticky. No one there would own up to it of course but it makes no sense for me to carefully pack sticky toys in an expensive plastic bin. I asked to speak to a manager and flat out told her she could keep her $7.00 and the items. I was going to donate it all anyway so it didn't matter to me. The reason I was so upset was because I called ahead of time and asked about 20 questions regarding the condition of the toys and clothes that they accept and the girl I spoke to told me completely different things than what the manager was telling me. The manager told me that she could tell the clothing was older than 2 years because the tags were worn. I told her I don't know about other moms but my kids are messy and therefore I WASH their clothes and the clothes I brought in were clothes my kids just grew out of and were no way older than 6 months. I also let her know I would inform every mom I knew of my experience and tell them to stay away from this store. She then told me that she certainly didn't want that and I could come in and we could go over why they rejected the items. I told her it didn't matter why they rejected them if her employees spilled something on the toys and made them dirty and sticky then that's not my fault and the clothes were not old. They were 2T for boys and 6-6x for girls and my kids JUST grew out of them! All this aside the store has a very dirty feel to it. The carpet it filthy, the place smells bad and there is so much on the shelves it all looks like clutter in a junk store instead of a resale shop. There were 54-5 girls behind the counter and yet they still had a line because half the girls were standing around doing nothing. I can honestly say I have nothing good to day about this place. The next time I have children's things to get rid of I will donate them to a local church. read more

My daughter quit her job today at OUAC and I'm so very glad that she did. She has spent the last couple of months being belittled and verbally abused by older shift leaders and supervisors, often in front of her peers. It is my understanding that turnover is extremely high and will definitely continue under the present ownership and management. I've sold items there once (I'm glad they are picky because that's better for buyers- makes for quality shopping) and I've shopped there many times. When we needed quick newborn clothes and when we need gifts and when we needed kid hats... we have found quality products there. Glad to have a higher end thrift type store around so that we don't have to just resort to sorting through the regular thrift store totems which are often stained or old or poor quality. I am originally from Arizona and as this is a franchise I've been to Once upon a Child many times, after my experience at the Fort Collins store I can safely say that I will never set foot in that store again. I was treated so incredibly rudely that I let the owner know through email then when I took my stuff into resell it they took nothing, one item was a pair of girls converse worn once, a whole bag of clothes from old navy and H&M. I had a bad experience at this store. People not that friendly or helpful. I had a whole truck full of kids things in good condition and they only took one little small tote of it and had me lug the rest back to my vehicle. Not only that it took them all day and overnight to give me a quote that I would get $28 back of all the 100s of things I had. I will not return and I don't recommend taking anything in to get cash for it because you will next to nothing. This place is so great, especially for ages 0-4. I have bought my son a winter/summer wardrobe here for around $100 a season for the past 3 years. There is so much great stuff, everything is sorted by color and type of item. I have gotten so many great articles of clothing here. There is much more variety than just trying to shop at one of the kids clothing stores. The most I've ever paid for an item is $7.50, and it was originally a sweater over a $100! And it was in perfect condition! I go a few months before the season starts to have top pick of swim shirts (these are gone so fast) and shoes- I just bought my son his summer wardrobe for $107 ( I did use a 20% off coupon that I had), but I got him multiple swim items- shoes included, several pairs of short, several tank tops and t-shirts.
