Can you leave zero stars? I live at the apartment complex next door, so you'd think supporting the mall would be easy. From all of the neighbors I've visited with about the mall, no one chooses to support it including myself. Why? Well for one the mall sucks. Ghost town. The shops are lame and have the same stuff you could get online much cheaper. 2) if you want to park at the mall, you certainly can do that with the empty parking garage, or over 10k parking spots... but there is a kicker. Whoever they put in charge of monitoring vehicles in the parking lot is either a moron, extremely bored or both. We parked there for one hour and got a parking warning. My wife even went into the mall. They are desperate for your business but very protective of those empty parking spots. Mall security is overprotective of their abundant parking spots, even so much as harassing and warning their mall customers. It is quite the deterrent. I'll just say what so many in Fort Collins are already thinking -- it's a rotting ghetto of a mall that's leaving a big poo stain in the middle of Fort Collins. The 1 star rating was narrowly avoided because there's a Renzios and Chick-Fil-A in the food court. Check back in a couple months, I'm sure they will pull out like most other vendors have. Part of it is deserved, For all the good things Fort Collins has going for it, decent apparel (among other kinds of) shopping is not among them. That requires a trip to Denver. LETS GO TO THE MALL! TODAYYY! Man this place is on life support. I haven't lived in fort collins all that long so i can't speak of this mall's heyday but now as of summer this place looks like its dieing. There are some people here shopping but its pretty sparse. The majority of shops are closed and even huge sections of the mall have just been walled off since i was here in December. The mall seems like it would be a nice place but all dieing malls are kinda in the same boat, there's not a whole lot of reason to go there unless your looking for something in particular. When we walked into the mall today i asked the question to my girlfriend... how many mall sales have been effected by how popular internet buying has become. Considering you can get anything generally cheaper on ebay or amazon than most 'real life' places Now, to get a little nit picky about why i never go here: This mall is mall rat heaven.. or hell, depending on how you look at it. I'd say you can easily say this mall's population about 35%-55% is accounted for by middle school or high school kids hanging out in the corridors. A lot of these kids tend to yell and scream and run around the mall like its a playground. Today i saw a coupla of kids throw another kid into the mall's Holliser where he proceeded to scream like he was in a prison shower. I had no idea a Californian clothing company could evoke such emotion in today's youth. I also had another kid smash into me running to catch up with her friends. The food court reeked strongly of natural gas today, i half expected us to die in a fireball wile walking though there. Because the mall is a 'dieing mall' a good number of the mall's sales force is super adamant about making a sale if you glance at anything. This is understandable because there jobs are likely becoming threatened with the current trend of closing business but being overly persistent can be a turn off for a lot of people when just browsing. Traffic on college is also really heavy in this part of town, i'm not sure why considering the mall is so empty, however if you come here you will deal with doing 10-15 under in a 40 but that can be said about many parts of college ave/287. The Foothills mall reminds me of the crossroads mall in boulder. Once a mall starts dieing its like cancer for the stores that are inside. There are a few shops that i'm glad are still there because this is still a good place to buy new shoes or clothes if you want to try them on but retail prices are so high. I have a hard time justifying paying 60-80 for a pair of shoes now a days so i still would just order them online. I'm not sure who owns this place but if they tore it down, and re-did the parking lot like they did on the now 29th street mall in boulder they might be able to fix this mall and shopping area before its completely dead. read more

The current mall is horrible. Two stars is generous. The future mall is going to be awesome. Hopefully four or five stars. I remember the original mall and how incredible it was. The Denver, May D & F, Sears...it was amazing. Over the years, as the mall deteriorated, it was sad to see. Not long ago, it became heartbreaking, an embarrassment for the whole city. The current redevelopment company is restoring hope that Fort Collins will soon have a property we can all be proud of again. Not only that, but be a catalyst for the redevelopment of Midtown Fort Collins, and a compelling destination that will boost ridership and usage of MAX. The whole city is excited to see the mix of tenants at the new mall, and watch the progress as construction unfolds over the next year. read more

I don't know where to start here other than the Foothills Mall is so sad these days. It seems just a bit odd since this is a college town but consumers are not only in a budget crunch with the recession but have discovered the wonderful heaven of on line shopping, which without a doubt is a wonder in itself. But sometimes you just want to go out and walk around and many places that used to be a good place to walk around and kill time is at a mall. The Foothills Mall was wonderful in the 80's and 90's but now it has joined the increasing death list of dying malls. There are still some good shops in there however the selection in these stores is another matter altogether. Some of the stores included in this are Macy's,Express,Pet City,FYE, and Spencer's. The City of Fort Collins has had many meetings with the owners of the mall but the owners seem to want to blame the retailers that rent there for not making the mall more attractive. Regardless I have been working in malls long enough mall management SHOULD be accountable as to how to present their building and their tenants in a more attractive manner. The same company owns the Greeley mall, another college town too and surprisingly it too is sharing the same fate as the Fort Collins mall. Even though malls may eventually become a extinct idea like the dinosaurs, there are still many malls that are still doing well mainly through their presentation and remodeling. So if you want a bit more selection at Express and Macy's my suggestion is to either go on line or go to the Centurra shopping center in Loveland. It may be diverting from the Fort Collins mall issue but you won't be quite as frustrated when you don't find what you want in the Fort Collins mall. More suggestions- Cd's- on line or the Finest on Elizabeth in Fort Collins Pet info-numerous pet stores in the Fort Collins area and grab the Denver newspaper for more variety on getting a dog or cat. I spent an afternoon shopping and found the place to be bustling with action. the food court was lively with people and the stores all looked open and doing business to me. I guess things change and places need to be visited again and again to keep up, or else things that get fixed don't get noted in yelp. Foothills - Shopping Centers Near Me - Fort Collins, Colorado

Terrible place. Most shops are closed now. Anchor stores are moving away. The only places left are stores that would have never existed without the mall culture in the first place, like Spencer's and Claire's. There are several eyebrow threading carts right now and I think they get about 10 candle shops during the holidays. THERE IS NO ORANGE JULIUS. So basically no reason to go there at all. he city needs to offer some incentives for a developer to raze the whole things, including the surrounding strip malls, and update the area. It is sad to have all the business creep south or north and let the center of the city decay away. read more

Oh my.....My teen daughter heard a truly frightening rumor that the Hot Topic store was closing so she made me take her shopping....at the mall. I had not been there in about 2 years. All of the decent stores are closed. Daughter got her BVB stuff (don't ask) at the still thriving Hot Topic, then we had to dress shop for her aunt's wedding. Trashy stores abound. Hooker gear everywhere. Luckily Macy's is still there and she found a nice, decent dress. I was shocked at the flight of all of the anchor stores minus Macy's. read more

Long story short... we got harassed by homeless people who live at the mall... no joke! They have several homeless people who mingle inside the mall, and they will do anything to scam people out of money! My friends and I ate at the Chic-fil-a and we accidentally bumped into the table next to us because they are so crammed together. Next thing we know, the ladies are chasing us down, accusing us of beating her pregnant homeless friend. She starts screaming hysterically and crying right in the middle of the mall, and we tell her we are going to call the cops for harassing us. She won't let up, so we make a wild dash for a department store then ran for our lives in the parking lot! Basically, they were homeless and couldn't afford the pregnant girl's medical bills. It was a sad attempt, and I don't think their little scheme will ever work. No one is going to believe a hysterical homeless lady with 3 teeth and googly eyes. I was actually quite impressed with the Foothills Mall. I was a student at CSU in the 90's and frequented the mall then. Obviously, the economy waas much better then with less mall vacancies. However, I recently moved back to Fort Collins and visited the mall. I found it to be very clean and inviting. Sure, there were less stores, but that is the norm these days. I was able to find everything I was looking for and at great prices. Honestly, I could not find one bit of trash on the floors and the mall was a nice experience overall. read more

okay so here is the deal this mall is actually great when they are up and running, full of people! The only problem is its been low on stores for a while but now they are starting to build in it and they seem to have so big plans for this mall they have taken down some surrounding stores like the stores surrounding the Ross across the parking lot except the Ross. So far they have done quite a bit to the place like make each store that is remaining have its own sort of hallway type thing and its actually pretty cool. They have even painted a few walls and made this huge room of some sort. So in my opinion i think this mall is going to clean up well and make an amazing new mall from what i can see! read more

This place is a dump and only a handful of stores remain in this trash heap. Good news is that Foothills is undergoing an extensive multi-million dollar remodel, the renderings of which look promising. Given the high traffic on College, prime real estate, and the lack of shopping options in the area I can't comprehend why it took so long for this mall to get the hint that they needed to go back to the drawing board. I believe this mall remodel is slated for completion late 2014, I assume aiming for the holiday shopping season. During my visit here last week I saw few signs of active construction, they have a long ways to go yet! read more

Well it is still standing, so that must say something. Despite all the local teen dwellers, the mall is arlight for atleast Fort Collins. A few stores here and there that I go to and actually spend money at make it worth while. Ever since I was a wee lad I remember this place whether it was trick or treating or just shopping.
