Have been using their service since 2012, I always get top dollar for my pawned items and the terms are fair and upfront. Michael is very nice and easy to deal with as well as his brother. I only go here after trying others in the past because they are honest, polite and fair. They make it easy for me to buy back my collateral when I am ready. All pawn shops should be so nice. read more

I wanted to leave a great review for these guys helping me out . I got a great loan for my gun, good rate and a fair price. They were super honest and transparent and very nice and polite. Great business a lot of cool stuff inside read more

Went to sell my gold jewelries and the guy that helped me was very nice, friendly and accommodating. He was also giving me options to either just loan it or keep it because the value of gold gets increased as the time goes by. But I still decided to sell them since I really need money and the pay was not that bad. I went to other buy and sell gold and they're giving me lower price. I'm glad I was able to find this place! read more

I chose this place because of their high ratings. And I was not disappointed. Very friendly and professional, needed to pawn my guitar and got a good price for it. read more

I came in to pawn a few pieces of jewelry and they treated me very respectfully and the person by the name, I believe was Andy, who is very nice and respectful with his customer service, gave me a pretty good offer and a pretty nice amount of time to buy it back. read more

I wasn't really looking to pawn anything, but was just fascinated by the creative and unique name for a pawnshop: "Once A Pawn A Time". And I wasn't really in a hurry, so I went inside, just out of curiousity. The staff were courteous and quite helpful. Pawnshops usually have other merchandise to sell, such items that weren't redeemed by its owner, but mostly it's wristwatches & jewelries. However, one particular item inside the glass counter caught my attention: a Beretta 92-F semi-automatic pistol, selling at half the price of a new one from a regular gun store. The Beretta 92-F was chosen in 1985 as the standard-issue U.S. military sidearm, replacing the .45 Government Model. It's also the adopted sidearm choice of several Italian law enforcement agencies and military units. I liked the gun, but with my suspicious nature, it's imperative that I have to ask an essential question: "Is this gun clean?" Promptly he responded, "Oh yeah, you could see it's mint condition, just like it's brand new." "Sir, what I really meant is whether there's verification that this gun have never been used at a scene of a crime." He recovered to reply: "Ohh, that's what you meant! In that case, I can assure you that it's definitely and positively clean." Without any further question about the gun's history, we closed the sale transaction and I came back later to pick up my Beretta 92-F, after the required 10-days waiting period. Without any expectation, that's how I got a gun once upon a time in America, at Once A Pawn A Time in the City of Glendale, Southern California. read more

I've read some reviews saying the old lady that used to own the shop was rude... that's not the case with the 2 brothers that now own it, they're the best: very friendly, accommodating and willing to negotiate prices. They really understand what good customer service really means. I've purchased 3 big ticket items from them and they've always given me great deals. Also, gun transfers are quick and hassle free. You won't have to wait 2+ hrs like at Turner's. I was in and out within 15 min when doing private party transfers. They walk you through it and explain everything in detail, unlike some other gun stores that make you feel inadequate when you don't know this or that feature on a gun or a gun law. The brothers have earned a customer for life in me, I highly recommend this store. BTW, make sure to say hello to the senior gentleman hanging out at the store (the brothers's dad I think), he's another nice guy. read more

Very helpful staff. Their prices are very reasonable and they even referred me to another business when they could not accomodate my needs. Once A Pawn A Time has a customer for life in me. I'll never use another pawn shop. D.H. in Pasadena read more

I've done business with Once a pawn time on many occasions mainly for online FFL transfers for the past few years and I absolutely love and highly recommend using this FFL. Their transfer fee is $95 which is fairly priced since the firearm I bought from Buds GunShop is $300 less than retail. I haven't pawned anything there, but I've heard positive feedback. read more

One's experience at this place might change depending on what you're there for. I'm one of those guys there for the guns mentioned in other reviews, so I can't comment on the jewelry or guitars or power tools. There might indeed be deals to be had there. I used to frequent Once A Pawn a Time when it was owned by the previous owners, who were gun people. The new owners do not seem to be. As evidence of this, the last time I was in there, I still saw most of the same rifles and miscellaneous inventory I remember from years ago. The reason, I suspect, most rifles had lingered on the racks was because the prices hadn't ever been adjusted over time. In terms of the inventory, most of it is pretty run-of-the-mill, and marked at about $50 over what I'd estimate "fair market value" to be, but it basically is enough of a price difference to erode my desire to impulse buy anything. Combine that with the selection, which is pretty standard for gun stores, and it makes for a series of fairly underwhelming experiences. Or maybe I'm just getting older and pickier. That said, I keep coming back in to browse, but my trips are getting shorter and spaced farther and farther apart. To be fair, someone looking for "plain jane" firearms like a Glock or any kind of non-specialty model 12-gauge might feel the selection is perfect. I can only offer that what I liked about Once a Pawn a Time before was that they attracted enthusiasts and always had some unusual firearms-related curio in the case to tempt my wallet. No longer, it seems. The one thing I will say about the place is that the prices ARE fair, and they ARE nice people, which goes a long way in my book. read more

I created a Yelp account JUST for Once a Pawn of Time! The guys that own it are beyond fantastic, knowledgeable and more importantly they are there to help whoever walks in. I've been going to them for the last 4 years- if I need a quick loan against one of my firearms they always give me TOP DOLLAR in terms of giving you an above average price for firearms you bring in (depending on the type of course). I know this for a fact because I have visited the only other couple Pawn Shops in L.A. County that let you use firearms as collateral. Without naming names...one shop literally offered me only 20% of what my firearm was worth (and I don't buy cheap arms). I bit my tounge...told the guy thank you...then drove out to Glendale! These guys know what they are doing and will answer any questions you have- whether it's jewelry, firearms and whatever they have in the shop. They always have a beautiful assortment of Jewelry and before Covid a huge selection of firearms considering it's a pawn shop and not a regular gun store. If you need help these guys are here to help. I can promise you will not get better service and better prices any place else! read more

I sold a necklace today at Once A Pawn A Time. Both owners took the time to explain how jewelry is priced and how the market operates. Both were very professional, caring and attentive. Wonderful customer service. I compared their prices to two other shops and by far they were the highest. These guys are honest and reputable. Don't think twice about doing business with them. I will be a repeat customer! read more

Once a Pawn A Time is exceptional, period! Owner Steve is extremely knowledgeable, personable, professional, engaging and extremely helpful. Incredible customer service, excellent variety of goods and services and very fair pricing. Whatever you need or whatever transaction you wish to make Once A Pawn A Time is the Pawn Shop to go to. Don't waste your time going here and there ... go straight to Once A Pawn A Time. I rarely recommend a business but I highly recommend this one! John H. in Sarasota read more

The best little pawn shop there ever was! Family owned, located in Glendale, California. They are knowledgeable, fair priced and completely people friendly, treating everyone with respect. A rare find in the pawn shop biz. Many blessings to all there! :-) read more

This is my FFL dealer of choice. The guys who run this place are amiable and have a ready smile. My transfers are no frills without the arrogance in most gun shops. They also have a nice inventory of rifles and guns and they don't mind if you ask to just look and examine the items. Would recommend this place. read more

I needed fast cash and found this guys very honest and reasonable.

Unless you're pawning guns or gold, don't bother driving to this spot. Waste of time, and creepy customer (lack of) service.

The people are really nice here, possibly the cheapest transfer fees (weapon purchases) in all of Los Angeles. I don't think very many people know about this, so here it is, if you buy a gun online, best do your transfer at once a pawn a time. read more

Cool little shop, the guy I dealt with was very nice and down to earth. I can't remember his name but he was more than friendly and helpful. They have a decent collection and misc. nick-knacks. You know it doesn't matter if its a restaurant or a bike shop its funny how good customer service makes you want to keep coming back or at the very least refer customers to it. read more

Ive gone to this shop maybe 50 x under the new ownership. The previous owner was rude and moody. These guys are the opposite. Kind, honest and simply great. I dont think they are capable to be anything but great. Good upbringing from the Dad who is there daily. A+++++++. read more

Great little pawn shop. Brothers who run it are extremely helpful and nice. Best place for gun transfers. Only missing is the gun shop attitude which I can do without. read more

Family owned and is one of the last pawn shops that takes guns. The only pawn shop I go to. They treat people fair.

These guys are great! They are really nice, I was greeted as soon as I walked in, and not the kind of greeting like hey hi are you get out of here like the pawn shop in old town pasadena. They are really nice and genuine. Sold my laptop to them at a great price! I took my daughter in with me that day, and they gave her a toy bunny and bear just to be nice. I had never been to a pawn shop before and was kindof scared to get ripped off, but they explained everything to me, and everything was really quick and easy. Thanks guys! :) if I ever need anything, I'm going back to them P.s, if anyone is looking for guns or guitars, they have a bunch. read more

Great service, friendly staff, and good location. After 14 years of marriage I was ready to start the new year by selling my wedding rings. This is really the place to go. Highly recommend. read more

I would like to start with most Pawn shops and or gun shops are not pleasant to deal with but I must say that dealing with these brothers has been a complete pleasure. I have purchased 2 firearms from them and really got a good deal with a smooth transaction. My impression is that they would help you in any way possible and that's so rare nowadays. read more

A complete joke! Never go here! Prices are unfair to the point it's not even worth taking your time to go there.

I've been to their shop to DROS firearms I've bought online from Buds Gun Shop and every DROS has been a pleasure with these two brothers they are the most professional individuals I've meet so far, their prices are fair and they are not pushy like other gun shops, I hope these guys stay in business for a very long time and I will remain their number 1 customer for years to come, THANK YOU guys so much. read more

These guys are the best! No problems to report. Gave me top dollar for my stuff compared to other pawn shops. for example, I went to pawnmart in norwalk and they offered 150 for my gold watch knowing it was worth way more I ended up taking it to these guys and they offered way more I was a happy camper. Thanks Mike! read more

The older lady who is the owner is very rude. I went in to purchase a firearm and was turned off by her attitude. Avoid this place. No customer service. read more

Great group of people that worked there. Honest. Understanding. Not the average, nasty pawn shop lender. These are genuinely good people! The loan amount is a little high, but it was worth the customer service and the way that they treated the customer. read more

Disgusting service never even looked at my paperwork walked away while I was talking. Probably didnt like my color I guess.

This is my new go to place when I am in a bind and need a fast cash loan. I first went to another pawn shop that was closer to me and what a mistake that was! They tried to low ball me and rip me off for brand new merchandise. I grabbed my stuff and decided to head over to once a pawn a time. The customer service is great and they gave me top dollar! Unlike the other place, they tried their best to give me what I needed. I am 100% satisfied and very grateful for Once A Pawn A Time! Thanks guys! read more
