This shop is right on route 202 on the way to Simsbury Ct as you leave Southwick MA. It is on the…read moreright, with a sign that is not the easiest to see. That is what adds to the charm. You can acquire some really nice finds. The front usually has copious amounts of small tables and items for the yard. And, inside they have a lot of smalls - collectible glass, tiny vases, gorgeous china, intriguing antiques and so much more. Their store has majestic glass cases that are lit with all kinds of wonderful rings, bracelets, earrings, etc. And their items are priced from real high to real low. You can buy a bag of odds and ends to make your own jewelry or buy an exquisite piece of high end jewelry. The staff is full of friendly people with a down home country charm feel to them.

There's so much of everything in here. There's furniture, books, toys, fine china, jewelry, paintings, tools, etc... I was a bit nervous walking around, you have to be really careful not to knock anything over, as I'm sure it would cause a domino effect. There's so many delicate little things piled on each other, the tiniest swing of an arm could cost you a big embarrassment of a situation. My favorite are the paintings. The fine China they have is also beautiful and in excellent shape. There was an all wood rocking horse, that you could tell was well loved, but still has more love to give. There was only one other lady there browsing while I was there. It can't be good having too many people at the same time in such a tight space, with fragile items everywhere. If you love beautiful, well kept, antique items, I encourage you to visit The Salmon Brook Shops.

The building is crammed with books. Lovely piles and stacks in every spot. There is even another out building with discount books. We spent a long time hunting through the piles and I loved every minute of it. The areas are organized and labeled very well so you know what genre you are looking at. This is lovingly looked after and kept. A literal hidden treasure

The owner is English and her business is an extension of her lovely personality. I have childhood memories of this place that could have come straight out of a magical fairytale book. There are many categories here; a large history section, gardening, art, film, geography, mythology, crafts, so many categories and subcategories, and because they are curated by someone passionate with books there are no filler books here. The prices are unbelievably reasonable, this is a curated collection by a woman passionate about books, making a living off of it feels secondary here to the passion of finding the books. You will not ever find another place like this. In a small rural town no less! This is a destination place if you are visiting the area. Such a gem!

This Barnes & Noble book store is a pretty massive one in Canton. You can enter from the front or…read morethe rear of the store, depending on which way you're coming from. If you're looking for brand new released reading material this is the place to find it. Everything is categorized into fiction, biography, history, romance, cookbooks and more. As long as you know the author, it shouldn't be a problem finding what you're looking for. There are resourceful books for a variety tests or exams one might be taking. At the rear of the store there are records and CDs. This is also where the children's books, toys and games are. There are certain times dedicated to story time for little kids. Should you need a coffee break, there's no need to go far. Starbucks is right here in house. They also have a sale section, usually those are activity books or similar. Be prepared to pay the manufacturer's price for most items.

It does, however, provide some extra seating which is always a good thing in a book store. That said, we wandered around for quite a while, checking out the history and cooking sections -- everything is pretty clearly organized -- and came away pleased. There's a special section for kids, for tech stuff and for just about any special interest you might have. They have lots of space devoted to gifts, which has never been our favorite part of a book store (let's use that space for MORE books!). There's an information area in the center of the store, and the employees there are pretty good at helping others find items. In all, a nice store, nicely arranged and worth spending some time in, as we certainly did. It is, we believe, the largest book store in this part of Connecticut.

Secondly you will see I agree with the majority and gave 5 stars believing it is worth your time checking out and both my wife and I enjoyed our time visiting. It's a spot we have seen on social media and a trip to see family brought us nearby so we knew we needed to stop in. Parking may be difficult at first sight if they are busy but we lucked out with someone leaving right when we arrived. They had an attendant and they did say they had some additional parking just down a road nearby that does not require walking on the main road. As I mentioned above it may not be what everyone wants from a book due to a lot of it being obscure and older books (used). You will find some of newer and less worn books if you search around though. If you go in with the correct expectations you should very much enjoy this spot. Overall a beautiful spot to walk around and enjoy the outdoors while browsing for that hidden gem book for your next read or collection! Don't pass up the entire section of books for just $1! How can you beat that for a value? Like I said both my wife and I enjoyed checking this off or bucket list to visit finally! Don't forget to visit the goats!
