It's going to be a tight fit with just three tables of four. Hang on tight, it's a culinary delight of Canadian and American flavors! Start with the dry ribs. Amazing!!!!! Try some Jerk chicken poutine. Fantastic!!!! Another beer/wine/sparkling to cleanse the pallet. Your going to need it. Cesar salad to cool your tongue down, cold romain with house made dressing with just the right amount of anchovie for some light kick. Finished with fish and chips, light battered fillet atop a mound of fresh cut fries. Mac and cheese three with truffle oil and shallots. Flavor abounds! Fete du complete with their double chocolate brownie to end this flavor extravaganza. Wow.... How one Chef in a tiny cottage kitchen can produce this quality of food......I don't know how, but keep it coming. Outstandingl restaurant and staff.

Glad we did. Simple menus with something for everyone's tastes. We had the burger (which was indeed homemade), poutine (best in Bala), salad and the mac and cheese. Everyone was very pleased. When walking in - the small interior will throw you off but if the weathers right - the patio is awesome. Can't recommend this place enough if you're looking for affordable and something the kids will love. Service and food were top notch.

Seated fairly quickly and drinks came shortly after. They were missing two sets of utensils when we sat down which was odd but fixed after the meals came. We were checked on every so often though water not refilled. Food: Garden salad - iceberg lettuce, 3 slices of cucumber, some red onion and 3 wedges of tomatoes and a sweet salad dressing. Likely plates in advance and kept in fridge as they literally came out 10 seconds after we finished ordering. Still fresh-ish though. 3/5. All main dishes came with 3 slices of cooked carrot, 1 broccoli piece and 1-2 cauliflower pieces. Also comes with your choice of baked potato, mashed potato or fries. Fries are from frozen. The mashed seems to be from fresh potatoes. Salmon - pretty small piece of salmon. However, it was cooked really well with a crispy exterior but still moist. The seasoning added to the flavor without overpowering. 5/5 for flavor but have to ding it to 4/5 due to the small portion. Prime rib - surprisingly thick but likely to make up for the fact that it's not super wide. Both sides were seared well but still remained a nice medium rare inside. Some parts were more tender than others but overall pretty good. 4/5. Pork Ribs (full): Comes with 2 full racks of ribs - is a ton of food. It wasn't exactly fall off the bone as some parts did require effort. The flavor was pretty good with a sweet and garlic sauce. 4/5. Price: On the pricier side but not too bad. Looking at around 25-40$ per dish.

But today my tea was lukewarm, and when I told the waitress she went and got me more lukewarm tea. She asked if it was better but didn't wait for my answer. Conveniently located right on #518 as you enter town, beside the Algonquin Park permit office, this place has become one of my favourite regular stops. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and wonderfully small-town. The food? Absolutely incredible. They serve all-day breakfast, lunch, and their famous Fish Fridays, and everything I've tried has been fantastic. I often grab a coffee and breakfast wrap on my way to work, but if you're hungry, their Big Breakfast could probably fuel a lumberjack for a week. For lunch, my usual go-to is the beef dip with Caesar salad or poutine, but today I tried the hot beef closed-face sandwich with a Greek salad and honestly, WOW. It looked like something from a food magazine and tasted even better. Rich, homemade comfort food done right. I think what really makes DJ's stand out though is how pet friendly they are. Their patio welcomes well behaved dogs and they even have an actual dog menu! My pup was treated like a VIP with fresh water and a delicious meal of his own while we relaxed on the patio. That kind of care and friendliness is rare these days. Whether you're heading to Algonquin Park, passing through from Highway 11, or just looking for a scenic excuse to get out of Huntsville for the day, DJ's is absolutely worth the 25 minute drive. Just note they're not open most evenings, so plan accordingly. Do yourself, and your taste buds, a favour and stop in as soon as possible. You'll leave full, happy, and already planning your next visit.

This was one of the rare places around the area that opened at 11 AM on Saturday so that was nice. The place provides the option of indoor dining, patio seating (weather permitting) and is pet friendly. (Some places unfortunately don't allow pets even with a patio so always good to call ahead to check first). The server was nice and attentive and offered my friends dog some water without us asking. The only downside when it came to service was the wait time. When we got a seat it was only us and one other table but we still had to wait quite some time for our food. The food itself was quite yummy. I had a strawberry pecan salad with grilled chicken while my friend had their burger with a side of gravy. The ingredients in the strawberry salad was fresh, the nuts were nicely candied and the chicken was juicy. It was refreshing to eat on a hot day and I felt quite satisfied after. In terms of the burger and the ingredients that went into making it, it was simple but once again, the ingredients were fresh and that's what makes a great burger. The gravy was that came on the side with the burger was additional $1.50 but in my option it was well worth it and went amazing with the fries. I would definitely come back if I was in the area again but if I was in a rush I would just order take out. TLDR: Attentive service, delicious food and fair prices, slightly longer wait time for food (If in rush, order take out)

After a rather disappointing dinner at Teca the night before, we were looking forward to a nice, hearty breakfast. The breakfast buffet was the usual spread of freshly bakeds goods, breakfast meats, assorted yogurts, omelet station and etc. Most of the items were still fresh when we got there around 9 a.m. (no stringy, sinewy bacon!) and the baked goods were decent as well. They could have used better coffee as there is nothing I dislike more than (well, arguably) breakfast with bad coffee. All in all, the breakfast buffet was a good experience. We'll be sure to swing by the next time we're up in the area.
