We hired On The Go Movers to load our furniture/boxes on a U-Haul truck in Meridian on 5/19/23. We provided workers moving blankets and plastic wrapping material. Unknown to us, an antique wooden desk was placed on its side, directly on the floor of the metal truck with no protection, with boxes and household goods packed all over the desk. When the job was done, there were leftover blankets which we returned to the U-Haul store, and we have the receipts and photos to prove this. There was also leftover plastic wrapping so there was no shortage of wrapping materials available. 5/20 I texted Keith Cullum to let him know I would need a receipt. We arrived at our new home 5/21 and unloaded the truck and discovered how the desk had been packed and severely damaged as it had rubbed and scraped against the truck's metal floor and the other items packed around it during transportation. I called Keith about the damaged desk and he requested photos. I reminded him that I needed a receipt. On 5/30 I texted him photos, and reminded him again re a receipt. 6/6 I texted requesting a receipt. I also spoke with him re the damaged desk, and to quote Keith, he said "We stand behind our work", and he agreed I would get repair estimates. 6/7 I received the receipt via email, which took him 18 days to produce from my first request. I emailed 3 estimates to Keith by 6/12. After multiple calls/texts from myself to Keith, he texted 6/22, "I will get it in the mail today. Check has been sitting on my desk, my apologies." This is the last time Keith has contacted me on his own volition. I texted him on 7/3, asking where the check was, and he did not respond. I called July 3, 14, 17, 24, 25, and 29 with no response. 7/31 I called Keith with my caller ID hidden, and he answered the phone. I asked why he hadn't mailed the check, or returned any of my calls or texts, and he said he had been busy. To quote Keith, he said the words "you are correct" re he owed me a check. He said he would send it to me that day, and text a photo of proof of the check being mailed. During this time, I obtained the phone number of his associate Amanda Freeman who I called on 7/26 and explained the situation. She asked me to send photos of the damaged desk, text screenshots, and repair estimates. I called 7/28 and she said she was meeting with Keith that afternoon and would bring it to his attention. Since then, Amanda has not returned my calls or responded to my texts. I called Keith 8/7 with no response. We called Keith 8/8, with our caller ID hidden, and he answered. Once again, he said he would mail the check the following day and would text a photo to verify it had been sent. We legally recorded this conversation, to have evidence that Keith has stated he will mail us a check. When we told him if he did not send the check, we would be escalating the issue to other agencies, he then deflected by claiming the damage may have been caused by us, and/or we may have not provided blankets and wrapping materials. As I write this, Keith has not sent me a check, or a text with a photo showing it has been mailed, and he continues to ignore our texts and phone calls. We are a Navy family that has moved many times, including 2 overseas moves. We've had furniture dinged, but never had furniture severely damaged and never needed a repair from a moving company before. Keith and On The Go Movers were recommended by another Navy family, and while I'm glad they had a good experience, our experience is a mistake was made, Keith said he would fix it, and then avoided us. I found a Facebook review where they had also damaged someone's items and would not return their calls, so we are not the 1st family with this experience. On Google reviews you can see Keith and Amanda have left positive reviews for their own company, which is unethical. With Keith's track record of lying, and creating reviews for his own business, I question the validity of other positive reviews. You are taking a risk in using this company, as Keith may lie to you and not return your texts or calls. Keith has refused to right the wrong of his workers' negligence by repeatedly lying to our family. He screens his calls and doesn't answer us unless we hide our caller ID. If Keith wanted to make it right, he would mail the check, that he has said is sitting on his desk. Any other response from him at this point regarding this situation is false. read more
