Tried to buy lead shot online to make ammo. Item linked below. They want to charge a $19.99 "Ammo…read morehandling" fee. I emailed support stating it must be an error because the remington lead shot doesn't incur the fee and it's literally a bag of lead. Nothing explosive or dangerous unless consumed, shoved up your nose and or butt, or shot with... Nope. Weird hill to die on but representative insists that lead is dangerous and is correctly incurring their fee. I also pointed out how about 80% of their bullets for loading do not incur the fee but quite a few bullets do. I'm new to loading ammo and checked with multiple reloading groups. This is not right or normal. Someone just doesn't want to do their job or they're really money grabbing scum. Either way avoid them. This is what I wanted to buy https://www.sportsmans.com/shooting-gear-gun-supplies/reloading-equipment-supplies/shot-wads/eagle-magnum-lead-shot-25lbs/p/p205280

I've been to this outfit 3 times and I've sent two other hunters to this lodge since 2019. The…read morefirst couple of times were alright. I got a beautiful deer. I'm not gonna take that from them. My partner and I just left from opening weekend of turkey season and to say it was a disaster is putting it mildly. He can post all the pictures he wants but those turkeys were sheer luck. The land is over hunted. The "lodge" is their personal home where your crammed into space if your single and as a couple let's just say the room was less than ideal with glass doors where anyone can see in and no quiet or privacy. The toilet didn't work so we're sharing spaces between hunters. We were told there was a yard and a pool if we needed it. Surely in jest but the issue wasn't fixed. The room was dirty. The bathrooms in the lodge broke down. Ice machine broke down. Told we could use the washer. Broken. The food they post is not what you're served. Look up the outdoor living article. 19 hunters crammed on minimum leases. No scouting. Didn't hear or see a bird. Fair chase is one thing. Over hunted poorly managed property is another. His kids were running the outfit. One guide. George. He tried hard to get us on a bird but it didn't happen. But the experience over all was trash. When we stopped for ammo in town they outright told us Tevis didn't pay his leases and had a bad reputation in town. A short google search last night revealed they weren't wrong. I've traveled all over and have hunted and fished. Sometimes you win sometimes you lose it's the name of the game. This place is an outright scam. Paying people to remove poor reviews and creating new pages isn't going to change a thing. Better business bureau. Yelp. And just about every hunting page is going to reveal the true story.
