Omnis acquired a company in Reno called AmHosting.com. After this the hosting services stunk! Our company was convinced by the support staff of AmHosting to incorporate our websites into their servers. Once we gave up our own server and were incorporated into the Omnis cloud we encountered these problems:
* PS AmHosting is Omnis, same address on Google.com (screenshots taken today), same support people, well not real people they use false identities. Just prior to this posting I started a chat session with an "Omnis support tech" who was named "Gunnar" and it appeared exactly as AmHosting's "Gunnar" false tech would have responded. Uncaring, and arrogant.
1. Emails were blocked from Yahoo, Google etc. And our outgoing emails failed. We do not spam, we only contact our clients who sign up and are active in our services - When we asked AmHosting/Omnis for assistance multiple times over several years they gave us no response.
2. Amhosting / Omnis refused our simple requests regarding database administration, adding new db's etc. Necessary to all Cold Fusion website customers. I remember clearly the exact response we got when we asked the for help, and I quote: "we're not going to do that". This after THEY convinced us to be added to their hosting server.
3. Website downages escalated to EVERY 60 MINUTES. When we asked why this was happening Amhosting / Omnis offered no response. 3-4 years later they tried to blame this on our Coldfusion coding. We do only simple database queries and CF commands, if this was true why didn't they tell us before? we could have searched for error. Our opinion is this was an improper or corrupted installation of Coldfusion. And instead of reinstalling it for "some reason" Amhosting / Omnis ignored the issue. We lost EVERY PAYING CUSTOMER because of our websites being down for days, every week, sometimes 10 times a day!
4. And overall, most irritating, we were very polite and respectful of the support staff at AmHosting / Omnis. They always seemed to be irritated with any request for help. They could never handle issues like ALL WEBSITES DOWN without "asking an administrator for help". And always used false names... This got to us after years of seeing our customers leave us...
This Christmas our websites we're down (as always), we were fed up and pushed AmHosting / Omnis to fix the problems and they shot us back a message "we will no longer support Cold Fusion and will not be renewing your account". This would have been no big deal if we didn't listen to their staff who convinced us to give up our own dedicated server. We could have gone on to any host in days. Instead they left us to basically rebuild our entire bank of 100 plus websites and databases from scratch.
We asked AmHosting / Omnis for their company owner's name, no repines, asked for a manager's name, no response, we were locked out of our admin account and could not erase our data, thus putting our customers and files in the hands of these dishonest people... We then told them we would file civil actions because of their terrible quality hosting and their basically giving us 24 hours notice before locking us out... But we then found out through investigation the company is weaker then we could even imagine. It's my opinion this Amhosting is a false host company, and Omnis doesn't give a damn because they are hiding behind a name.
I truly dislike this company, the way they are posing as false people, and this "AmHosting" company shell...
If anyone ever has problems with AmHosting / Omnis I'll be glad to provide testimony as to how this company was singularly the worst company we dealt with in our nearly 30 years in business.
