Secondly, they had a very comfortable waiting room with various snacks and lightning fast Wifi. This is where the good stuff abruptly ended. When I was called to come in we were led, instead of to an examining room, to an office. The office employee then told me and my wife that before they could see me they wanted an immediate payment of $398 for 3-d x-rays. I then told this person since I have insurance that the usual procedure would be for the office to provide the service, submit the claim to my insurance company and then bill me for the balance. She said she would immediately talk to her insurance coordinator and left the room. She came back 10 minutes later and told us that we would have to pay $197 immediately and bill the insurance the balance. I reiterated that all dental offices we have dealt with did the service first, billed the insurance, and there would be an EOB for us to remit the rest. She insisted on this prepayment, we informed her that this is not the way we do business, and walked out of the office, That is why this office went from 5 stars to 1 star in less than a half hour.

BACKSTORY Was referred to another Perio practice for a…read moreconsultation. Was checking Cigna Dental site for in-network periodontists including the referral practice. This weirdly named one came up as Dr Reganato in their list with a high rating (low fees) and sounded great... always be wary of these things. Lesson re-learned. This is a very strange office. Or failing as a practice... They answer the phone "Hello" without identifying themselves by business name and individual aka "Business Name, Mary speaking, how may I help you?" And when pressed with "uhh is this a business" they respond with "Perio" like they don't want to state who they are... vibes like they are dodging debt collectors? Weird af. EXPERIENCE Tried to make an appointment, they ask for a referral from your dentist, if you contact them... to "build a rapport" with your dentist... aka trying to get more business (need more referrals do we?) Which tracks when they closed an office in Arlington Heights and barely have any reviews on Google or Yelp. I think it's because Cigna stated fees that seem very reasonable, and this guy doesn't want Cigna Dental patients. That is my guess... are they contracted to these rates? SHADY behavior by the dental office manager Elisa and the various Susan's as well. So, suss, their conversation had a sad desperation vibe... the 2nd follow-up chat with the receptionist before Elisa... showed the senile person didn't even know who she was talking to and almost booked me, then got my name, put me on hold, and said the whole lie about September as the next available date... perio referral consults are done immediately because you don't wait on gum issues, so why did you want a referral? Beware of this weird sketchy place... oh just looked up the office. Strip mall between a Halal Meat market and Nail Salon... so they seem very successful and legit. Do professional office people answer with just "hello" and don't ask for ID info when you call to look up your account? Or say that they delete emails when appointments aren't made after their follow-up call, because they thought you were someone else... seems odd to be soliciting appointments, but then having the Office Manager Elisa say theyre booked up for 3 months and next availability is in September... after they finally get your name. Classic Susan... x2.

On the day of the procedure I was treated with nothing but kindness, respect and great care. I would 100% recommend this office for any periodontal needs. An extra special shout out to the nurse (I'm sorry I didn't get her name) who was there for the consult, procedure and the follow up. What a wonderful nurse she is. I hope I never have to go back again, but if the need does come up I know where to go.

I went here once and was completely unimpressed and underwhelmed…read more Dr. Morris' manner as a doctor is really kind of lousy. I explained the problem I had with my teeth, that my jaw hurts when I move it and he said "Maybe you shouldn't move your jaw so much then," and laughed and laughed as if it was supposed to be funny. I wasn't laughing, fool. Not to mention the extremely inconvenient location in Buffalo Grove. It's one of those doctors' offices completely hidden from view; I drove past at least four times before I realized I was supposed to make the turn because there is literally no sign indicating his office or anything like that which is visible from the road. I hope they resolved that issue by now. For someone who does not nor ever will live in Buffalo Grove, where God left his underpants and didn't go back to pick them up because Buffalo Grove was too much of a pain in the ass to get to, service has to really blow my doors down for me to make a trip out there. Especially for something as miserable as going to the dentist. Oh Dr. Morris. If only you were a little nicer and a lot less pleased with yourself you would have had a regular patient in me. Maybe in your next life you should be a comedian.

I've been going there for about 13 years now, and somehow those eight "cavities" have never appeared in their exams. Dr. Shiffman is the best dentist I've ever had. He replaced a couple of old amalgam fillings for me, and he did exemplary work on a crown I needed in an emergency when a corner of one of my molars broke off. He did great work on the fillings I needed due to some gum recession. He's so personable and wonderful that even though 12 years ago I moved to a different suburb that's 30 minutes away, I still come all the way back to Buffalo Grove for dentistry. I've had the same dental hygienist, Lana, the whole time I've been a patient there. She is marvelous. Honestly, Lana is a big factor in my decision to continue to drive all the way to Buffalo Grove twice a year to get my teeth cleaned. I feel like I'm visiting an old friend when I see her. The entire staff there is very friendly and helpful, and I haven't had a bad experience there even one time in 13 years. Plus, I am 42 years old, and I get compliments from people on my *teeth.* If that's not a ringing endorsement, I don't know what is! I may have bags under my eyes and crow's feet, but my teeth look fantastic!! :)

I was having a hard time finding this dentist because I was surprised to see them rated so low!…read more I have rotated over three dentists in the local area in the past six years. And even though the care may have been great and the dentists kind, it was always a billing nightmare - cleanings that should've been covered by insurance but costing an additional $50 for "better care" or bills that would show up over four months after a procedure despite being told I was paying the full balance due four months ago... So when a coworker told me about his Illinois Dental Center experience, I didn't believe him. They check your insurance and tell you exactly what is covered and what isn't. And their bills reflect exactly what they discuss with you beforehand, no extras, no ghost bills. The office is simple but the work is effective. There's no Netflix to watch from but my teeth are cleaned and brand new in record time. Dr. Uppala gets the job done every time and explains everything I need to know about my teeth. Honest, effective dental care has been so hard to find and I'm glad to have found somewhere where I'll be going from hereon out! I have no issues with language or poor dental work here. So things must have changed. But if these low reviews are keeping you away, I'll be perfectly fine having less competition for appointment times :) If you're running into headaches with dental offices, know there's at least one here that doesn't play games!
