This place is a scheme I went in there for a minor gum issue and was told I had 6 cavities and needed deep cleaning. Went in for my first half of teeth to be cleaned and two cavities filling and right away was charged $1358 for that and later supposedly found two more cavities that needed to be filled. So after the cleaning saw the dentist and he only filled the two new cavities that were discovered that day.... That later found out he did them wrong and needed to be redone. When I went to get a second opinion found out that I was charged for 4 cavities and only two were done and also didn't require deep cleaning . BEWARE BIG LIARS read more

Beware. If you are due a refund check, good luck getting it from this office. Visit was paid in full by credit card at time of visit. Dental insurance also paid their office for same visit (our last appt). Creekside dental made an error in amount of refund to my mother which means they owe her a balance. They claim a second check was mailed over a month ago. We have not recd it and they will not cut another check. Office person in charge of cutting checks hung up on me. I had a terrible experience. I used to go there, and at my last appointment, they ask me to set a reminder for my next appointment in 6 months. Well, I forgot about that after 6 months and now they are coming after me for $100 penalty. I cannot believe it, but that is how they treat their patients, see their e-mail below. My family and I have been going to Creekside for many years but have had enough. Stopped accepting my insurance and made me pay upfront for everything. Insisted on sealing my kids teeth even after we expressed our concerns with it. Agreed to go ahead with it for our daughter and she ended up getting a cavity from the sealants. Then charged me to drill and fill the cavity. I expressed my concern with the amount of x-rays and every time I go in for cleaning they insist I have x-rays done. They have a pleasant staff and Dr. McClune seems to be knowledgeable. It took forever to get an appointment with them. I took an appointment to get my teeth cleaned after an initial free checkup. But at the time of check-in they warned that it was a deep cleaning which would cost something like 750 USD. And that they had not yet got it approved by the insurance company. I played it safe and decided to go some other time after all approvals were in place. Before I did that, I got a letter from them that Delta Dental is not paying them for work done and all patients are liable to pay for work done. So, I am looking for another dentist. read more

Went in for a cleaning, checkup and exam and because two fillings previously done at Creekside fell out. I was charged $906.00 for the 45 minute office visit. There was a charge of $600.00 for periodontal treatments. I don't know if it was necessary or not but I should have been informed of the additional treatments and charges before the work was done. I am 69 years old and have seen four dentists in my lifetime and prior to this dentist have never had a filling fall out. Basically every filling put in at Creekside has fallen out. read more

This is the best dentist office I've ever been to. The front office staff is super friendly, discreet, and they know how to help you get the max out of your insurance. For instance my insurance company wanted to downgrade my natural color fillings to the metal ones. after jockeying back and forth the ladies up front got the insurance company to cave and pay for the better treatment. As for Dr. McCune, he is a fantastic dentist, is super careful but also very fast which is great if you are having a major procedure like a root canal. I wouldn't trust anyone else with my teeth. They have pretty markers in the office to color the bills. mcCune would not return my husbands phone calls and either would the business manager. Patients for 15 years but no more. Yes the front desk staff are friendly, but it seems to stop there. Personally I don't enjoy having a conversation with a fist stuck in my mouth... But who cares?! I'm only a client. I've been a patient of Creekside Dental for over 15 years now. Dr McCune, Dr Christian, and all the staff for that matter, have always done top notch work on the dental work that I have had done. After recently being scammed by my last dentist, I was in search of an ethical dentist. I work in the suburbs, so wanted to find a dentist close enough that I could visit during my lunch break. I searched around and came across Creekside Dental, and all the great reviews solidified by choice. I went for a check up and had a great visit. The staff was friendly, and took me right around when my appointment time was. They knew I was on my lunch break, and were conscious of their time with me. When I was younger I have had bad experiences with Dentists and feared going in every 6 months. Since becoming a patient of Dr. McCune, I no longer have that fear. Everyone at Creekside Dental is wonderful, kind and caring. They put you at ease and make you feel comfortable through out the whole visit. You can watch TV or listen to music while they work on your teeth. They keep up on all the latest technology. They just installed new computers in each room for the Xrays and the trays that they use are smaller and are less uncomfortable than the old ones. Plus there is less radiation used with this new system. I have referred 6 friends to Creekside Dental and each time I send a referral they give me a $25 credit. I've been a patient of Creekside Dental for over a year now and while I wouldn't say going to the dentist is something you ever look forward to in itself, all the folks at Creekside manage to not provide outstanding expertise and service, but also to make your stay a pleasant one. I recently had 3 cavities taken care of and didn't find it all to be discomforting, which says a lot about the quality of work they do. They're also very good about not only checking on you during treatment, but educating you on how to best take care of your teeth on your own. (I have a habit of clenching, so they recommended a plastic mouth guard you can get at Walgreens.) I'm a Benefits Director for a large local company and am picky about which providers I personally use but also which ones I refer our employees to. Last year I used Dr. McClune for the first time and was impressed with him and the hygienist. In January, I called to make a ROUTINE cleaning appointment for my 20 year old son - who knows absolutely nothing about insurance. He went for his cleaning appointment and was told that he had to come back for his cleaning because he had 2 cavities that needed to be filled at the same time. Immediately, I was contacted by the office to collect my credit card number to pay for the fillings. During this conversation, the office staff said not a word about changing any of the services that I booked for the appointment. Imagine my surprise when a few weeks later, I get the Explaination of Benefits form from my insurance carrier showing that Dr. Christian billed them for $1672 for Periodontal cleanings that I knew nothing about. When I called the office, I was told "that my son is an adult and he approved the services". Since when does a 20 year old kid know the difference between a ROUTINE cleaning and a periodontal cleaning - they don't and my son certainly didn't. All he heard was cleaing. In fact, if this office was above board in their approach to treating their patients with honesty, why didn't they tell me this when they called for my credit card so they could bill me. Not a single word was said!!!! It's a really sad day when a business has to start ripping off kids to make money. Shame on Dr. Christian. And then he had the gall to state that the issue is a lack of communication within our family. HOW DARE HE!!! Shame, shame, shame!!! Dr. McClune may want to start to rethink his partnership stragety if he wants to remain in business. Rest assure that I've share our experience with many in the community but certainly with the 2000 employees we have. There won't be any more referrals to this office. Buyer beware!!! The place is clean, well organized, the staff seem genuinely happy, and they are very helpful. My husband and I have been going here for about 8 years. Dr William L. McCune is terrible. After McCune extracted my wisom teeth, I continuely felt the pain and can not even bite with the side I had the extraction. At first, I throught it would be the pain of the extraction and it will go away after couple days. But the pain was getting worse!!! I happen to had an appointment with an endodontist two weeks later and I asked endodontist to check my teeth, he found a crack of the molar next to the wisom teeth I extracted! That teeth works perfect before the extraction and after the extraction, it has a crack which caused my pain!! I ended up doing a root canal right away with the endodontist, and I have to put a crown on it later! McCune caused all this, I have to spend more than a thousand dollars to fix the teeth which has a crack caused by McCune! I am so sad about this. Think before you do! Very nice people! Prices are outrageous tho. So BEWARE. I was in PAIN for a week, got in on a Monday, another appointment on Wednesday, got the tooth pulled, which was on day 7 of said EXTREME pain. I went home with a light wallet and NOTHING for my EXCRUCIATING PAIN. Mind you they stress this you gotta be, we'll get you "pain free" bs. Really like them but NO WAY am I coming back. I actually stumbled upon Creekside Dental while trying to figure out where to take my boyfriend after a hockey accident. He used to go here as a kid and they still had him in their system. But the best part is that when we called we were able to get him in for an appointment and the first stage of work the same day. While I waited, I was able to get a cleaning done as well. I'm not exactly sure what to say. I've loved going there over the years. Staff was always kind and gentle. They took care of billing. My entire family went there. Great office hours. My hygenists always put me at ease. But billing. I recently got divorced and was trying to decide whether or not to keep my dental insurance for the rest of the year, and had some pain so they had me come in. Even though they knew of my situation, and I had just gotten the COBRA forms, they initially REFUSED to treat me unless I paid upfront. On top of that, to my deep dismay, I had had a credit with them since probably July which they never told me about! I definitely could have used that money. So on top of them holding my funds, their e-mails saying to use my benefits (I was trying to see if I could!), it ended up all coming down to maybe $40 (and I offered collateral til payday or I had enough money to pay COBRA). The stress this put me under was unnerving, especially after the 20 or so years we've been going there and the I don't know how many thousands of dollars I've paid in insurance and out of pocket to them. read more

A year ago McCune extracted my lower teeth and it was really bad experience not just because of the worst denture he made for me and also because of his surgical work- my next dentist found in my gum piece of bone or plastic. Warning, this dentist office rips you off. This is a true story of how they scammed me out of $500. On November 26th i went into their office to schedule an appointment because they sent me through the mail a solicitation for a free x-ray and free initial exam. They told me I needed a cleaning and the charges after they ran my insurance card through was $500. They wanted their money paid in advance before the work was done so I went to the bank and withdrew the money and paid them. The appointment was for Dec. 1st and i had my teeth cleaned, which took about 90 minutes. Later that week I received a bill from them for an additional $500? I called to find out what's up? and they said because my teeth needed a "deep" cleaning I owed them an additional $500. They never told me up front what my real charges were going to be even though they had 5 days to research the billing with Humana Insurance. This place lied to me told me i had periodontal diesease and refused to clean my teeth. They wanted me to spend almost 4,000 dollars with them on some deep cleaning. I am 24 years old and have never had problems with my teeth before. I went to 2 other dentists to get a second opinion and showed me how it was impossible to have what this dentist was telling me. I literally left their office in tears thinking I was going to loose my teeth and have to spend all this money. I later called my friend and he said this dentist told him he had the same thing! Staff is good, and if it is routine cleaning it's fine, but I would think twice if you r going in for any procedure. I went in for 2 minor filling- Went back twice for adjustments and was in severe nerve pain. After a month, Dr McCune says it needs a root canal. I went to a different Dr to get the root canal done, could not trust enough for him to touch my tooth again. For the other one, I am still going though severe pain,but waiting for Jan to work with a new dentist cos of insurance- it was a surface filling but hurts like a nerve damage. What are the odds of getting nerve pain and screwing up both teeth that he touched. Never going there again. read more

I've been going to Creekside Dental for almost 8 years now. I go to them for several reasons. One is that Dr. McCune, Dr. Christian and Nina the Hygienist have great bedside manners which is very important to me. The procedures are almost always painless. I also like how the office checks my insurance and I know exactly what is owed. There are no surprises when it comes to paying my bill. The office hours are very convenient for me. It gives me the flexibility to either come early in the morning before work or later in the evening. I've on one occassion had to call in for an emergency procedure and the doctor was gracious to accommodate me. read more

Went once and won't go back. They have no idea how to communicate with insurance company. Appt lasted over an hour. They took xrays then said i needed a deep cleaning which required a longer appt. They said they had to coordinate with the insurance and would call to set up the deep cleaning. 2 weeks later they called. Meanwhile they billed me 50 and insurance 150. read more

My parents and family have been going to this office for over 15 years. I have a huge case of dental phobia, and have had bad experiences in other offices, that have only made my fear worse. I have twice gone to Dr. Christian (10 years apart) for emergency work. The office is excellent in getting you in as quickly as possible. This last time I was able to get in same day, on a Saturday. They truly cater to wusses here. Their office is more like walking into a spa, I especially appreciate the nice scents they use to cover up that "dentist office smell", and the family photos and cool posters they have around. The office staff is friendly, went out of their way to explain everything to me (I am self pay-no insurance) every step of the way, to ensure I at no time felt any charges were being snuck in. Dr. Christian's beside manner is fantastic, as well as all the assistants/hygenists. He jokes, talks about current events, asks about your plans for the rest of the day. I have horrible teeth and they do not make you feel bad about it, they are very understanding. They always make sure you are comfortable, I remember 10 years ago I kept having to use the restroom during my root canal. I felt embarrassed and horrible I kept making them stop, but they at no time made me feel bad and told me it was welcome whenever I needed to stop. I've spent years in fear of the dentist (again, because of insurance I had to go to other dental offices for 10 years and they were not good) and going to see Dr. Christian/Creekside made me feel like I can get more work done soon, and improve my dental health, with little fear/embarrassment/stress. read more

My daughter was a patient there for a lot of years and not going to be anymore. I think the doctors there are not bad but billing people don't know what they are doing and are not willing to talk to you. If your insurance situation is not straight forward be careful. I was overcharged more than $500 and had to start an appeal and get an insurance on my side to make them give my money back. They didn't want to listen to what I am saying, insurance representatives couldn't get a hold of them and they kept sending me bills with interest charges and threats of sending to collection agency. Took me a few months to get my money back and by the way no interest charges were paid by them (of course! it works only the other way around :-) ). They left my insurance network after that and that was the one insurance that almost every office is in network with so I don't know what dental network they are in anymore. All I am saying just be careful and check your bills. read more
