Al was out immediately and came with a smile a great ideas to bring our vision to light. We made our old living room into our new dinning room and needed light since there was none. Al's team ran power to the center of the ceiling and moved the light fixture from the old dinning room into the new. He then replaced then installed a light fixture in the old dinning room. He set us up with these great can lights that can be set to any color temperature. Last he installed a ceiling fan in my daughter's room. He did all these projects while cleaning up poor or damaged previous wiring. His team was extremely kind and friendly and kept the area incredibly clean while working and after they were done. A DISASTER !! And instead of owning it or apologizing kept coming up with crazy theories. Lights were not even good, they install in the morning and have no idea how it'll turn out and was so arrogant on the phone until I showed him the pictures, only then they came to adjust it initially claiming it's at no additional charges but then send me another invoice. Update: the company is now actually having a defamation attorney threatening to sue me unless I take down the bad review and blackmail me into paying over the quoted price !! Guess that explains how there's only good reviews here. If you give them a bad review for a shitty job they threaten with litigations so people back out. Don't fall for it, see for yourself !!

I truly wish I had nicer things to say. Crest has been a Chicago staple and when I finally was…read moreready to upgrade my lighting again I went back to the place that had been tried and true for me years ago. But it seems that era has ended. I came in a hot mess, I have no design skills. I relied on the sales person to help me and I thought she was amazing. She was kind, patient and seemed to really get me and my condo style - benig "vintage" and wanting to modernize was beyond me. She was super helpful and made me feel like she knew exactly what I needed. That was until I left the showroom. I ordered two ceiling fans from her that day, it wasn't cheap. I also ordered one I'd found on my own online. I hired someone reputable to install them for me and I was all set. But then they left and within days the two I purchased from Crest (different manufacturers) were both on the fritz. Hard to believe for sure, but both manufacturers agreed this was a fluke and they both had inherent issues requiring replacement. And then I had to replace them, which meant I had to pay for the labor again. One of the fixtures is in a room I hadn't needed the fan for in the first year. But then I did, and it didn't work. At that same time I noticed the on/off switch wasn't working properly either. I called the manufacturer and they agreed it was a warranty claim and to call Crest to replace the wall switch. Not something I feel comfortable doing on my own. When I talked to Crest, they said they'd order me a part and well... they did but never called to tell me it had come in. I called on my own three weeks later and they said it was there waiting for me. I verified I could wait for the weekend to get it. Of course they are closed on Sundays so It had to be during the short Saturday hours. I raced to get there in the window only to find a lot of confusion. It wasn't waiting for me at all. The woman who said she'd call me was there and surprised I was asking questions. She said she hadn't heard back from the manufacturer to answer my question about paying for labor, and they all just threw their hands up and said they couldn't help me because the manager wasn't there. Let's just say it's the end of an era and I won't be back for business in the future. Good luck with your purchases after you leave the store.
