I had been a loyal customer of Sherwoods for six months, going there regularly to get my artworks printed as I run my own business selling printed works of my art. Last Tuesday I went in, to get a bunch printed on special paper that j supply, as usual, I was told the paper cutter was broken and k would have to return the following day, which was already pushing back my strict deadline. I returned the next day to be told that my paper stock had been lost so they could not complete my order. When I calmly tried to explain how this had put my out of a couple hundred dollars in jobs and it was unacceptable, both men at the business started raising their voices and being aggressive with me, with other customers as witnesses. I then had to email each client explaining what had happened and that there would be a delay.
I returned today having bought even more paper for them to use, as i am not familiar with other printing places who know what/ how I want my prints done. Once the job was completed (which took two goes for them to get right), I asked for a discount because of how much they put me out of work the week before. The man in charge told me I would get a $2 (!) discount only, because he had in fact "found my paper later that day" (which I was unaware of"). I explained again how much money I had been out out of (25 prints at $40 each), because of their carelessness and that a mere $2 was not fair compensation. I tried to strike a deal and he raised his voice aggressively. I am a petite young girl and was the only one in the store when this happened. He disagreed and snapped at me and when I then refused to pay because it was utterly unfair to only offer that, he got more aggressive, standing infront of the doorway and threatened to call the police.
I'm sorry but this is not how you treat a loyal customer when they were never be ones at fault. I felt vulnerable being the only one there with a man being overly aggressive towards me because of his wrong doing. I will never do business with this place as this is disgusting behavior as I was only ever calm up until that point. I'll admit that after he acted out and blocked me in the building I paid the amount he refused to change as he knew I had no choice, upon exit I told him I will be contacting consumer affairs as he made me feel unsafe when I had not done anything wrong. I'll be spreading this as many places as possible, as this is a popular printing place for Ryerson university students also. read more
