Three minutes later, multiple confirmations via text and email were sent to verify that the address and time selected were correct. The plumber arrived about 45 minutes after the time window opened. We asked for shoe covers, which he put on. (That has not been our experience, even when we insist.) He confirmed our suspicion that the tank needed to be replaced. After a brief outing, he came back with parts. Our original estimate was $379, but there needed to be a support bracket, which he strongly recommended that he add. (Our old one was hanging unassisted parallel to the ground.) The final total was under $500, including tax. Other than some crumbs of pipe dope, there was no mess. So far, everything is working well. He said it would be a 2-person job, and that he'd get approval from Select Home Warranty to proceed, and the office would call to schedule a second appointment. That was on May 22. No one has ever come back, despite my calling both Select Home Warranty and the 2 Men and a Snake office. I keep hearing promises and finger pointing between the warranty company and the plumbing company. I ended up having to hire a different plumber who fixed it in 90 minutes by himself.

Camera guy informs me that tree roots have damaged my line and a 30' section needs to be replaced to the tune of over 9k. I called a small local company for a second opinion. It wasn't tree roots - the line itself was broken and everything was draining into the dirt, hence the backflow when there was more water than could be quickly absorbed. They recommended the same amount of line be replaced, but for half the price.
