Not gonna lie, this was a bust. Our group consisted of people all in their late 20s. Visiting Omaha, we thought this would be a cool way to explore the downtown area. WRONG. We told the driver that we wanted to avoid the college aged bars and were honestly more interested in just drinking casually on the bike while riding around. That apparently went in one ear and out the other. After biking for a mere two minutes he dropped us off at a bar that we had EXPLICITLY said we didn't want to go to. Nonetheless, we took a gander at the place. Wasn't our scene so we just waited on the bike for 15 minutes for our reservation at the place we did request. We had one drink there and came back to the bike. Where was our driver???? NOT THERE! No joke! We waited ten minutes for our driver to come back to the bike. Totally not professional. We're paying a lot of money for this damn thing and our driver has gone missing. At this point, it's obvious that we're a bit annoyed. We told him that we wanted to ride around and drink. What does he do? He takes us around the SAME block again and then pulls over to the side. I'm pretty sure there is more to Omaha than two SAME blocks he just keeps taking us down. At the end of the night, I calculated that we rode for 20 minutes at most. Based on the rate we paid, that came out to $20/min. Insane. Never will do this again in Omaha. Wish there was a way to get a refund. Next time, I'll just ride my granny's tricycle through Omaha. read more

We picked the 'cheapest drink stops' ride option. Rachael hits the nail pretty squarely on the head. Our group's experience on the Patio Ride was probably pretty similar... laughing, shouting, dancing, pedaling, singing. It was a hell of a good time. And while primarily I think the Patio Ride is thought of as a bar hopping methodology, I could easily see it being something fun to do with a non-drinking group or a family reunion since they run all day (8am - midnight) around the Old Market. There are some non-pedal seats available as well, if you had children or elderly riders you wanted to accommodate (4 total non-pedal spots, 2 on the bike and a 2-seat bench on the back). They can tailor the ride to be whatever you want and give a good mini instruction to how the contraption works beforehand (how to signal, when to pedal, etc). For those of shorter stature (5'-5" and under) it was a little bit of a reach to get to the pedals, and I banged my shins several times on the metal bars. Oh well, that's the price of fun sometimes. Cost was around $22/person for a two-hour ride (we had a full bike). And the looks you get from people on the street are priceless! read more

Details below if you're interested in. My friends made the evening fun, so the 2nd star is really for them. Main point: 1. Customer service is impossible to get in touch with 2. You only get 2 hours on the patio ride, but technically that's 20 minutes actually riding it, and so that's about $20/min 3. After coming back from our bar, our driver was gone for about 10 minutes, doing who knows what. Because it's not a job or anything. I chose to take my friends on the Patio Ride for my 29th birthday. Since we are older, we did not want to go to the college kid bars like Billy Frogg's or wherever else the Omaha Patio Ride has deals with. So I wanted to create my own route, but I wanted to check with the Patio Ride before booking. So the first hint that this was going to be a worthless experience was the fact that the Patio Ride folks claim the "best way to contact them is email", and then you realize they never respond to your inquiry on email. So I tried to call. No response. So I decided to risk it and just book the ride and call about the route after. My ride was confirmed, I emailed the company. Called again. No response. Only after I emailed them, in all caps: "PLEASE CALL ME ASAP" with no other text did they actually call me within minutes. I finally got somewhat of an approval of the route, after verbal and eventual email confirmation. On the night of the ride, I realized how glad I was that some friends couldn't make it. The website says you can have up to 16 people, minimum 10 to pedal. Two seats did not have bike seats at all. And even if they did, that would have been 5 people on each side, 2 people sitting in the back. Where would the other 4 people have sat? Anyway, the driver understood we wanted to go to Berry and Rye at 10 PM. He also understood we didn't want to go to the young kid bars. So I suggested he take us on a ride up until that point (from 930-10). His solution: bike 2 blocks up to Billy Frogg's, a bar that caters to young college kids, and push us inside to take on drink specials. We got off, but then went back and asked if we could just be on the bike. He said yes, but he didn't allow us to actually move anywhere. That was ok, as it gave us a break, and we could listen to our music and drink. After Berry and Rye, we got back to the bike, and our driver was nowhere to be found. We played our music ourselves, until he came running back 10 minutes later, pizza in hand. Maybe the company doesn't give him time to eat? Regardless, our drinks are sitting out in the open. Thanks bud for watching them! Finally we literally just said to him, hey, it's 11 now! We only have 30 minutes! Can we PLEASE just bike around? Not sure why we had to ask to bike around when that is literally the point, but he agreed! Score! We biked around longer this time, but that was twice around the Old Market for a grand total of 10-15 minutes. Then he stopped, allowed us to dance and listen to our music while he just watched us, and then we went back to Stadium Club, where we awkwardly gave tips we felt this guy did not deserve. Moral of the fucking story: maybe I'm old, maybe my friends and I like biking more than the average person, and maybe Omaha Patio Ride has deals with the bars that they will get a lot of patrons into their establishments. So if you are older, if you do actually wanna bike on the patio ride, if you don't wanna go to bro bars, then don't go on Omaha Patio Ride. read more

Patio Ride was freaking awesome. Having never been to Nebraska, my friend informed me that we were going on a patio ride. My first response was a, "umm... what? What the heck is that?" A patio ride is a picnic table (that you would find in parks, etc), with 12 stools around it, with each stool having biking pedals attached to it. From the manpower of the individuals sitting on the stools, the actual picnic table (which actually has 4 large wheels), gains enough momentum to go, with the driver (who was named AC), steering the individuals around the area. What's great about this patio ride is that it's a tour/bar crawl type of ride. For 2 hours, we pedaled around downtown Omaha, getting to see the sights, stopping from point to point, to grab a drink or something to eat. I think we had close to 4 to 5 stops. In addition, the patio ride even lets you bring your own drinks/food and music on it as well. It was a BLAST. We had music blaring, and it was SO MUCH FUN. Imagine singing at the top of your lungs "We are Young" by FUN, while pedaling around randomly on this table, hopping from place to place in downtown Omaha. Plus, AC was a lot of fun, chatting with us, laughing with us, just being a great driver and guide. Only some of the restaurants offered patio ride specials (If you're on the patio ride, you would get discounted food and drinks at Julio's, etc), but I could see it picking up in the future, as it's only been in Omaha for a few weeks. Definitely a must do in Omaha. Definitely. I had a blast! read more

We had a shared birthday celebration on the Patio Ride and had the most amazing time! We found 13 of the most fun and entertaining people we could and boarded the pedal bar. Ace was a fantastic guide - he really made our experience as fun as it could possibly be. We tooled around downtown hitting all of the bars with drink specials. While we were pedaling from bar to bar, we had the music blaring and cars honking and waving at us. You could tell they wanted to join in on the fun. If I could give this zero stars I would. We have always loved doing these kinds of thing but this time was awful. The guy that was in charge of the bike yelled and the bride because she was having a bad time and wanted it to end. We asked if we could just keep peddling and stay on the bike and he became very angry most likely because he wanted to stop at the bars and drink with his buddies. The bars we stopped at were exactly what we asked him not to take us to and we asked him to take us to different bars he yelled at us for going into the bar having a drink and then leaving. The ride was like an hour or so long and we spend pretty much no time on the bike as we would go less then a block and then stop even when we asked him not to. He said he worked for tips but I don't think I have ever met such a rude person trying to get tips! read more

Looking for a different type of bar crawl (deterring from Olley the Trolley or a limo), I found Omaha Patio Ride and booked it for my little sister's bachelorette party. We had an absolute blast. AC, the driver, became my best friend...ok, a slight exaggeration, but he was an impeccable guide with a great since of humor and we had fun including him in our evening. We had our playlist compiled and drank, sang, peddled, and were merry, all night long! Omaha Patio Ride was the best way I could have spent the 'First Saturday in October'! I was asked to aprticipate with my group at the last minute, and I am so glad I put it into my schedule! We purchased the Patio Ride as a Living Social deal, thinking that it would be the perfect activity for a group of friends who regularly take spinning classes. We were not disappointed. It was everything we thought it would be..and more. AC was a great guide and kept us moving along so that we got the most bang for our buck! I can't begin to describe how fun it was to be pedaling along with some of my closest friends in the middle of The Old Market with Hot Chocolate's "You Sexy Thing" blaring from the speakers!
