What an experience! I've seen these paint and drink places for many years now and never got around to doing them. I've seen many of my friends do them before and thought hell why not. Our instructor's name was Ashton and she was blast! We had a giraffe theme for the session (got it at the $25 discount vs $35). Ashton made class cool and super chill, it was nice to let the creative juices flow. At the end of the session (roughly two hours) there is a drawing and my husband was ever so luck to win at $15 gift certificate. To know what you're painting for the session you can sign up at the website and for every 5 sessions you have the 6th is free! What a cool crafty place!!! Im from Buffalo and was in town visiting a friend, when she reserved us spots to make a board, decorated by us with some fun sayings to hang up in our home. I've done these classes in Buffalo, and this one by far turned out to be my favorite! The instructor was so helpful with guiding us in making our work of art, it wasn't too challenging but you definitely feel accomplished once you are finished. Wine and Beer for sale, and the music selection was great, definitely got me motivated and relaxed to craft! Came in on a Wednesday and it was half price wine night (woot)! They take you step by step through the painting but you can customize every step of the way if you're ultra talented like me. (Ha!) I was a little nervous going into it because I do not consider myself to be very artistic but the instructor breaks the process down into a number of smaller steps and makes the experience much easier. I was very happy with my painting! For $25 that included the canvas, art supplies and 2 hours of instruction which I think is a great deal. I went in the afternoon and if you do an evening class I believe that is $35. Not to mention you can drink while painting! They play a lot of fun music while working but the music kept cutting in and out which was really annoying and for some reason they had the voicemail system set up to play the messages out loud as they were being called in which was distracting and unnecessary. I expected to have fun here, painting while sipping a Mimosa on a Saturday at 10:30am, but little did I know how much fun I'd have. Just pick a painting, sign up on the website, and show up. The staff were very friendly, everyone there was in it to have fun, and drinks flowed freely. Super fun even with a group of strangers. Sure a room full of people painting the exact same thing may not scream 'creativity' but I really thought it was interesting to see how 30+ individuals, given the same paint, brushes, canvas and instruction can come up with 30+ different interpretations. I loved Corky Canvas and I was seeing people do Corky Boards on Facebook so I really wanted to try it out! I'm so glad I did! I've never even stained wood before so I was nervous, but the employees are so helpful and go over each step with you and are constantly walking around and making sure that you are comfortable. They also have their own little bar area so it helps to have a glass of wine before hand to get warmed up. When you register for the class online you are able to choose from a few different designs. I really like this! It helps make the experience more personalized and you aren't just getting stuck with a design that your friend wanted. They make you stencils before hand so the hardest part of the whole process is where to put your stencil but they even come around to help you with that! Corky Boards offers a bigger board and they also do mini Mondays with a smaller and less expensive boards (20x24 vs 12x20) for you to make. I thought this was a great way to try it out and see how I liked it before I spent more money and had a pretty big board! Visited a friend in Omaha and while working on to-do activities stumbled upon this establishment. Bought a gift certificate and one round of drinks for two and selected a morning mimosa class. Included drink from gift certificate + free mimosa for the class = a double fisted blissful morning! Because my time in Omaha was limited we just picked a class that worked with our schedule. Sadly, we weren't too thrilled about the painting, but the website did say we could do our own thing. We picked a painting off the wall and Ms. Lacey (our ridiculously sweet and encouraging teacher for the morning) was completely accommodating! She wrote down play by play instructions for us and helped with our paint. Loved rocking out to Billy Joel, MJ, and Elton while painting the morning away! It was taken care of quickly by their friendly staff, so I was confident we would have a good experience. My sister and I took our mom for her birthday. We all had a great time. This was an excellent experience. When I signed up for it, I didn't think it would be so much fun, but it completely exceeded my expectations. I wanted to give a farewell treat to a girlfriend who was moving away, and since both of us had wanted to do this for quite a long time, I planned an evening at the Corky Canvas. We were painting a barn that night. It was already fall, so I was very happy to find a painting that was in-theme with the season (I take fall very seriously! Haha!). Our painting had a barn and some trees with golden leaves. We bought our wine bottles and settled in. Our instructor was excellent, she went step by step, and the best part was painters of all levels-amateurs to pros, everyone would have fun doing it. I want to highlight that you don't really have to be a painter to go for this. She played some fun music too. So, with the wine, the music and the paints, the mood was set. We started out with a certain amount of paint but we could really take as much as we needed. Our instructor gave us breaks and waited for everyone to catch up. At the end I noticed that although everyone had the same painting, every artist had some unique aspect in their painting. I loved that! For the price, this is excellent value, they provide you all the materials and you get to keep your painting. It is a great deal. If you are looking for a fun and memorable experience, I strongly recommend this place. read more

This was an absolute blast! I wasn't sure how much I would enjoy the class - I come from a family full of painters, crafters and other artists - but it was a lot of fun. The staff was really nice and helpful, and the instructor was good at providing input on our progress as well as giving simple, easy-to-follow instructions. Everything is provided, even the alcohol that these sort of "drink and paint" establishments are known for (though it's at an additional cost - not too expensive though). A couple of things to note - if somebody in your party is celebrating a birthday they get a super dorky hat and a free drink, as do any guys that might've come with you. Also, go to the bathroom before you get there as there's only one bathroom that the entire class must share and lines can get pretty long. If you're still on the fence about going, I would say "GO!" as long as none of these statements bother you: 1) This is not a serious painting class. You might learn some helpful techniques but it's primarily for fun, not artistic development. 2) You will be around a lot of other people and the environment is very much a social one, so you'll likely want to be comfortable mingling. 3) The instructor moves through the steps relatively fast so if you're really new to painting you may fall behind. All in all, I found my only complaint came from the fact that you're seated suuuuuuper close to the person next to you - I'm left-handed and kept knocking my best friend's arm throughout the class. Another reason why this place isn't well suited for the socially awkward or people who want to do their own thing. Overall, this was an awesome experience. I was already planning on going back before I showed up for the class but my name actually got pulled from a drawing for a free lesson so now I'm positive I'll be returning! It's a step up from suburbanite craft store classes and a great place to have fun in an adult atmosphere (no one under 16 is allowed in the regular lessons, that's why). My boyfriend and I popped in for their Valentines day set, everything was great as usual for the most part - positive vibes, friendly faces, up until about the end of the night. I was having difficulty understanding the last step in the painting and i even made it clear to the instructor I was confused....she didn't say anything to help and just walked away. My end result didn't turn out as great as it could have been for that reason. If I'm gonna pay $35 a painting, shouldn't the instructor help us to make sure the complete painting is up to our standards? You guys! I totally didn't think I was going to love this, but I so did! A group of girlfriends from work signed a group of us for a night out at Corky Canvas. I pictured crowds middle aged women, attempting to paint the same boring picture. What I did not expect was fun loud music, a funny painting teacher, lots of wine, and a super hilarious time. Okay, first things first. The bar. Drinks weren't bad -- we bought two bottles of wine for about $25/bottle. Fair warning - you'll end up drinking more than you think. You can also buy single glasses of wine, if that's your thing. The bar also sells shots of alcohol, which made me laugh. The class itself was so much fun. Our painting teacher was patient and explained how to paint what seemed to be a complicated picture quite easily. She would demonstrate, then turn up the music and let us at it ourselves. When there was some downtime to let our painting dry before painting more on top, the music was on again and people mingled around, taking photos and posing in the cut-out photo boards. Expect to be there for about an hour and a half, maybe two. Free parking in the garages nearby, and I believe free parking on the street after 5pm. There's a handful of great places to grab some happy hour appetizers and drinks, if you're taking a class at night. Try Crave or Black Oak Grill right across the street. Ooh and bonus -- if you can organize a group of 12 people, you can schedule a private class where you can pick any painting and bring in your own food. read more

I arrived 15 minutes , checked in, registered My name ,grabbed my paint and sat, waited for the other 50 people to get situated, so the painting could start. It's a 2 hr session NO complimentary drinks here, a glass a wine(dry moscato) $6.1/2 of a bottle of wine$9 on Wed. If you like the social scene and loud 60's, 70's,80's music, then this is for U! I felt like , I was in kindergarden class, everybody looks @your painting and people are looking at you. Some people are chatty, if you go take a BF or GF, I went solo. I was glad it was over, they take group photos, takes forever to get out of there. The party kept going after I left 8:30. I think these girls got a good thing going for them. My wife and I thought it would be fun to try our hand with a paint brush and we had a blast! I didn't know what to expect going into it so I was surprised when I got there and it was more of a bar than a paint shop. We grabbed a bottle, found our easel and paint, and were led through a fairly easy painting. They even have a few domestic beers for those who can't hack the wine. I would return, given I go with the wife. There were about 30 girls and 4 guys in there otherwise so it would be pretty intimidating going in there as a married man... if you know what I mean, haha! Might be a fun place for a single guy with lots of confidence or a good date night as it was for us. We went to Corky Boards-Omaha with a bachelorette party. We had a large group go with us (our group alone brought the business $300 in just the boards and who knows how much with drink purchases. ) To begin, we started about 40 minutes late (7:40) and throughout the entire evening, the two ladies working (October 13, 2018) were not helpful when patrons had questions of how to complete the project and they made snarky comments. I personally had several interactions with one of the girls and she was rude with her responses and never once helped when we needed, ignoring us every time. One couple was even there until about 11:00 pm because they wouldn't help and give them directions. We will never go back to this Corky Board location. We were very disappointed in the service, ruined 4 hours of our bachelorette party, and will be sure to let all out our friends, family and colleagues not to frequent this location. read more

Took my girlfriend here on a date and had a great time. As a guy, I was only going for my girlfriend, but I enjoyed myself in the end. We arrived about 15 minutes early, got checked in, got our paint, and bought a bottle of wine (which is half price on Wednesday). The instructor, Natalie, was very helpful, although she did move a little fast at points. Overall, as a complete novice at painting, I felt things were very easy to follow and replicate. In the end, it was a great social atmosphere that was a great experience and definitely worth the money. Would definitely recommend! So much fun!!! Ashton is great and really energetic. She definitely makes it really laid back and her encouragement makes you much more comfortable. They have a bar with a wide variety of drinks. You can even buy a bottle of wine to split with the people that you came with. At the end you aren't rushed out or anything but instead are encouraged to finish so you're happy with the product. The instructors are great as well, especially if you're artistically challenged like myself. I planned my cousin's bachelorette party here. The website is really easy to use and gives you the option to put in a party name so it is really easy to plan parties, even if you want to have everyone pay for themselves. The customer service is also really good. I had to make a change to our reservation and had no problems and received a very prompt response. Everyone had a great time and really enjoyed themselves. The alcohol prices are very reasonable and they make the painting simple, no matter what your skill level. They play fun, upbeat music in between the instructional portions which creates a really fun atmosphere. They were also very accomodating of several people who did not realize they had to sign up beforehand and were very nice about adding extra spots for them. Probably my only complaint is that the classes are very large so it can be a little confusing if you have questions or need further instruction. This is a fun night out for date night or girls night or just something different to do!! So get off the couch and do it. I have zero artistic talent and am a serious perfectionist so I knew that I was going to have some sort of issues going to this place. But, I had been wanting to do it for a long time with my friends so I finally just got out there did it! It was fun and something that I admit I will do again. The only thing I didn't like is the teacher went too fast for me sometimes and I felt that she could have walked around more and helped people that she saw were "struggling" such as myself. I felt lost half the time or I felt like she went too fast on the explanation. I realize there is a time limit and that is where I have a problem. I am a painter that can't be rushed!! Ha. read more

My daughters and I had to reschedule due to some major health issues I was dealing with. My daughter and I talked to them numerous times to reschedule. Finally the day arrived, and since I was not able to go, a good friend of mine joined by daughters at Corky Canvas. When they got there, Corky Canvas did not even have them down on their books, let alone have all the supplies ready, even though the last conversation with them, my daughter was told they were looking forward to us coming and had all the information they needed. Since another painting class was going on, and since they were not prepared for our group of 5, my daughters and friend got very little attention. Thank goodness my friend is a great painter who helped out my daughters who have never done this before. A long ways to come to end up learning nothing and doing it all on your own. I felt very sorry for my girls and friend. When you talk to and set up a date with the manager, you SHOULD DEFINITELY GET BETTER RESULTS!!! read more
