Here we are in Paris, eating Korean food! What can I say- this is what we were in the mood for…read more Our original pick was closed due to a leak. We found this place on the fly, courtesy of Yelp. The only negative about this restaurant is that it was really warm, so warm that we didn't stay for dessert. The food was excellent. We shared bibimbap and bulgogi. Both were really good. To our surprise, the food was brought out within minutes of ordering. We also ordered the excellent banchan. This was wqshed down with some cold soju. The prices weee really reasonable. Jantchi is very similar to the kins of Korean food that we get in NY, but less expensive and a bit faster paced. If you are tired of French food, it's worth a shot.

We probably checked five other Korean restaurants before settling on Jantchi. The restaurant quickly became busy during lunch. However, service was quick and I got my much needed soft tofu soup (soondubu) with the accompanying side dishes in a timely manner. I ordered the lunch soondubu, which was as expected, a bit watered down, but still hit the spot with the sesame oil flavor I was craving for. The egg is already cracked into the soup, which is not as hot as I'm used to. My boyfriend ordered the bibimbap, which came out in the stone pot and was pretty tasty ! We doubled down on the gochujang, and it was enough to keep our Korean cravings at bay for the remaining trip.

Stopped in for lunch and we were glad we did. This is a funky spot with good food. We had the fried…read morechicken bun, the pork bun and the sweet/spicy fried chicken. Both buns came with slaw and sauce and they were bigger than what I've seen elsewhere. It's not steamed bun but more of a brioche sandwich bun. They were both good but the pork was slightly better. Large chunks of juicy sautéed pork on a soft eggy bun? Better than a burger. The chicken was sweet sticky and a little spicy. I like things extra hot if not nuclear. My mom would think it's spicy. Nonetheless they were juicy, boneless pieces of chicken with some skin (not a lot) still on. This would be good for 2-3 people to share. We'd make this a regular place to visit if we were locals.

Despite the amazing food and cocktails in this place, the service is beyond rude. I live in Paris…read moreso I know the difference between rude and your typical indifferent service is. However Hero, actually shocked me, the Eastern European waitress was disgustingly rude to us, argumentative over a simple mis-order, which should have been a simple solution. It's like she got off on being a combative, rude b€£%@. I have never in my ten years in Paris experienced such service, and for this reason alone, I will never come back to Hero nor recommend it to any of my friends. We had planned to stay for more cocktails but because of this waitress and how aggressive and rude she was to us, we decided not to out of principle. [lesson to the managers, this is how you LOSE revenue and customers] Do not come here unless you want to be treated with complete and utter disrespect.

I had an unforgettable experience dining at Pierre Sang. A family friend highly recommended the…read morerestaurant, and I booked a reservation about a month in advance. On the day of our reservation, all of the parties for the designated seating time were shown to their tables; once everyone was seated (we were seated in the basement with a few other parties), each course was brought out in an orderly sequence. I will not comment too much on the details of the meal since the menu changes each day and is meant to be a surprise, but each dish was innovative and prepared with fresh ingredients. At a high level, our meal included a fruit appetizer, soup, fish, red meat, cheese, and dessert. One of my favorite parts of the experience was trying to guess the ingredients in each dish - some were quite difficult to guess because they were prepared in untraditional ways with the ingredients transformed beyond visual recognition (e.g., cantaloupe mousse). Each dish was very distinct from the next and provided a balance of flavors, textures, and temperatures. While I'd consider a couple of the dishes to be truly sublime, overall, the unique dining experience was one of the highlights of my trip to Paris.

I liked this and I had fun puzzling it out with my friends. We did not do a very good job! It was hard to guess the ingredients and I think they purposefully try to fool you a little. I have photos of each course but I don't remember all the details. We had 6 courses. There was a small starter of a bao bun; mine was markedly less filled than the others on the table, so the proportions were off and I felt shortchanged. Then we had a fish course, a course with savory ice cream and some bread (like cornbread), a mushroom "pate" course, a cheese course (one big slice of cheese), and dessert (ice cream and apricots?). I felt like everything (taste, texture, ingredient quality and variety) were good but not great, especially since they are making things easier on themselves by doing fixed menus. Staff tried to explain what all the dishes and ingredients were, and they did good but not great job. They spoke English but didn't always know the English words for specific ingredients. The ambiance was fine. We were at a long, narrow communal table on the first floor just next to the kitchen and the door. It was a little cold from people coming in and out and a little busy with all the staff moving around. It wasn't the most refined or relaxing atmosphere.
