I graduated from this school in January 2018. It was a rocky start in the beginning as their Admissions/Financial Aid adviser didn't do her job correctly. She left a lot of us with unanswered questions about our loans, rules of the program and was LAZY when it came to paperwork. I had to go back several times because of her lack of attention. She's been gone since 2017 while I was still a student and once she left the enrollments were done correctly. No more problems. What I love about this school is the staff. Miss Lorie was my freshman instructor and she really invested her time into her students. I always described her teaching as "bootcamp for hair". Miss Brittani took over when Miss Lorie left. Mrs. B always wore a smile and was always motivating when it came to teaching and doing. I loved picking her brain about the "world of hair". Mrs Peschio runs the senior floor. Mrs Peschio has been with the school for some time now and knows almost everyone that comes in to get services. The floor gets pretty busy and not only does Mrs P teach students and intake guests, she also prepares soon to be graduates by giving "mock boards". Mock boards are incredibly helpful as it helps students get the feel of what to expect when taking their state board exam. I passed the theory and practical on my very 1st attempt in 2018. This place used to be good when it was Classic Beauty School on Greenway ave. Now the new manager is blind to any problems. So bad they are even using unsanitary razors! My neck feels like a bad sunburn, just look at the pics! I had to go to Cost Cutters afterwards and even Cost Cutters was appalled. Stephanie from Cost Cutters said I should report Olympus to the state board of cosmetology! Stephanie also said my hair was clearly cut different lengths on top and sides and said she couldnt cut anything in the back because my skin was inflamed! The new manager of Olympus is also one of the rudest people I ever met! The student cutting my hair today was from Iran. He could barely speak any English. When I asked him twice, "Does my hair look the same length on the top and on the sides?" he answered ok lol. When I politely asked the manager for help she jumped all over me and said "His English is perfect! Never insult my students!" I should have left then. I said I wanted the hairline in the back raised up and that is when I got the results in the pictures! I was in pain and when I asked, "Can I see the back of my neck?" the student of course didnt understand this simple question or pretended not to understand. They probably didn't want to show me because my neck was completely red! The manager said dont worry it looks good. (She just said that, she never even inspected her students work) When I asked to have the hair by my ears buzzed, the student started using scissors! Scissors dont buzz! When I asked again to get through the language barrier, the student started blending the back of my head instead of trimming the hair by my ears! And that was the first time in my life I ever had to forcibly get up from a barber chair! When I told the manager, she said "Maybe you need to go to a real barber shop and never come back!" Really, that is how you treat your customer? What is also funny is I went to the local Subway restaurant afterwords, and even the sandwich artist at Subway, said Olympus cut his hair all wrong. He said he even tried to wear a hat to work because he was so embarrassed! And to end this review, when I asked for my money back, the Olympus manager and coworkers got hostile! One of their barbers even tried to fight me! How ridiculous is that! He was inches from my face and I told him he needed to back up. He then backed up and opened the door and me deciding it wasnt worth my time to try to reason with these unsanitary, incompetent people, I left! So stay far away from Olympus! Unless you are ready for a bad haircut, Hepatitis shot, and a bar fight! Worst haircutting experience I have ever had in my life. As you can see from the pics, it was basically assault. There was no supervision on the lady that was cutting my hair and then another student try to straighten it out and she did a better job but I walked out of there and totally embarrassed and had to keep trimming it myself. This is my second time visiting this student salon. I had a great experience during both of my visits. The first time I went in I had jet black hair and was looking for a change. The instructor was able to answer all my questions and guided my on the look I was trying to achieve. The stylist followed all her instructions and did a great job. This time I went in the stylist took her time lightening my hair and was very patient with me. Will definitely go back for touch ups. read more

Do NOT go here. I scheduled the day off to take a walk down to the beauty school to get color and trim since May was the last time I had my hair done back home. The girl doing my hair was super sweet but by the time she finished coloring my entire head, the dye had been sitting on my scalp for an hour and a half, then I spent another 20 minutes waiting before she washed it. I thought that was odd, but figured hair dye advanced since the last time I had my hair colored and if it was an issue the supervisor would have stepped in. Then, after the wash, when she was blown drying steam was everywhere, I've never seen that before in my life. At first I just thought it was weird until she got too close to my scalp that I pulled forward because the blow dryer heat was hot as hell. The color turned out gorgeous, felt dry but after the intense treatment I figured it would just need my normal conditioner next time I took a shower. As I was walking home I ran my hands through my hair and found there was dried dye still in the back that got missed from the wash, so I very quickly washed it out with lukewarm/cold water once I got home...and that's when my hair showed me it was completely destroyed. It was dry as bone, stringy, felt like tangled straw, and fried from root to tip. Five years of never putting heat to my hair, always using leave in conditioner, and not washing it every day - all of it down the drain. I went in there with long silky smooth soft hair and came out with my entire head completely ruined. I can't touch it or look at myself in the mirror without bursting into tears, even the $200 I spent on repair products have been completely useless. Couldn't sleep that night due to my head being in so much pain and I've had to wear hats to work to cover the giant dead skin flakes coming off my head from the chemical burn. Worst experience I've ever had and will never ever go back to this place. My hair is completely destroyed and it's made me an emotional wreck. I've called 3 times and left 2 voicemails with my concerns yet NO ONE has even bothered to call me back so I wrote a Google review in hopes to get their attention. The owner disrepectfully responds to my review claiming I was never there however I literally have the receipt and immediately called the school to speak with the owner and as always it went straight to voicemail and no one has called me back. Unfortunately I have to update a review I made on this academy a few years ago.. this school is awful. The woman in charge no longer makes any type of effort to keep this place relevant. The only people who come here anymore are the older lady "regulars". They never have anytime because their stylist schedules are so limited.. I've walked in several times to students and instructors sitting around talking about nothing related to their education but I've been told on every occasion that they have no time to do any kind of service for me. Recently I made an appointment in advance but when I got there I was still rushed, the stylist barley did anything to my hair and the instructor took one look, and said it was fine, without actually looking it over and giving the student useful feedback. I left there with dry, frizzy, uneven hair, and looked like i hadn't had a cut in months.. will never go here or take my family, or recommend this place ever again. read more
