It started in the lobby. I waited in a baren space for my haircut and color. It had only folding chairs and not even a table to put my drink on. No class! I waited 40 minutes with no apology for the wait. A student came for me and I asked about her experience. She said she was new and sent the manager. I explained I wanted a student with more experience. As I talked, the manager interrupted me several times. No class! Finally after a full hour of waiting I got with my student stylist. No one even said "sorry for the wait". No Class! The student was a friendly girl. I made it VERY CLEAR to her in english and spanish I wanted 3 inches off. NO MORE! I have very long hair and I want to keep. Just wanted a trim, color and style . She agreed and went to work. All went well until I looked at the length of my hair. She'd cut off 8 INCHES!!! Totally destroyed my look! It will take a year to grow my hair back. I felt like crying. My hair color wasn't what I chose either - it was much darker. When I pointed this out to the manager, she of course didn't apologize. She didn't even offer to re-do the color or comp the services. No Class! They don't even take credit cards. Now everytime I try to put my hair up it a clip or bun, the ends come popping out since it's not long enough. )-: Apparently this hair school needs to go back to class to learn to do hair...and learn some class! read more

Im a current student for a barber school. Xylo was one the options and thank god I didn't enroll at this school. I went to get a basic long layer hair cut and a TRIM. I specified twice ( I know how to do a basic haircut since I attended cosmetology school for a couple of months and that's an everyday thing they teach ) anyways my hair was pretty long and when the student finished the haircut i was disappointed on how short she left it ( shoulder length) very short layers man soo disappointed not at the student but at the " instructors " they never stop by to supervise their students. So I don't recommend this place at all. Especially if you want to become a cosmetologist. read more

Omg Please DO NOT BRING YOUR KIDS HERE!! They charge students for color classes make up classes when they are supposed to teach them for free! They pay their collage tuition and they abuse them by charging them for classes?? Horrible school They use cheap Sally's products instead of professional Products from Cosmo prof exc.They buy the cheapest products and they treat them LIKE WORKERS.HORRIBLE TEACHERS THAT DONT SHARE KNOWLEDGE BECAUSE TGEY ARE SELFISH.I was a cosmetology teacher there.And the students complained.But the owners inly cares about making money with them. Monday, August 8, 2022 - Noon CONSULTATION WITH MARIA, XTYLO BEAUTY COLLEGE INSTRUCTOR ABOUT MY HAIR COLOR During our consultation, I walked into the school with a photo of the hair color I want. My hair was also that color on top. In fact, I told Maria that the only reason I went in to have it done, is because I didn't cover all of the gray hair. She suggested I do a double process, which would eliminate the dark color at the ends and then have one uniform color, that it would be beautiful and that I would love it. Once the dark color was stripped, she did the 2nd process, the actual color of my hair. However, after washing, it wasn't the color which I requested, it was a golden blonde! I brought it to Maria's attention and she tried to convince me that it was the right color, that my grays would be less noticeable. THIS IS THE 1st COLOR YOU CHOSE FOR ME AFTER I TOLD YOU DARK ASH BLONDE (Unable to paste photo #1) I never requested a lighter color or gave you permission to choose whatever color you wanted. In fact, I left the photo up at the station to be clear about the color I expected. Also, several times during the process I pointed at posters in the school which had the color I wanted, one behind me on the wall, as well as one on the wall in the room with the hair drying chairs.. Since I was so unhappy and wouldn't give in to Maria's pressure, she agreed to redo the color to the color I choose, a Dark Ash Blonde. Since this would be the 4th time coloring my hair since Saturday, I was afraid my hair could fall off. She assured me it wouldn't, that this was a toner for darkening (not lightening). Once this 2nd color was washed, it was RED!!! Unable to paste photo #2)( I calmly asked the student to go and get Maria as this wasn't the color I chose either. Again, Maria attempted to convince me that it was the exact color in the photo! THIS IS THE EXACT COLOR & PHOTO I BROUGHT WITH ME & WAS @ THE STATION; (Unable to paste photo #3) Maria, do you think I'm stupid?! Instead of being humble and admitting you made another mistake on the color, you informed me that you wouldn't color it again for free!!! I don't have a tolerance for people who choose for you because they think they know better than you, and are on a power trip. I chose a specific color which is more natural. I chose a color that's professional as I'm interviewing for professional positions, law firms tend to be conservative, for example. Yes, my family and friends are lawyers and in Law Enforcement, all the way up to Homeland Security. I paid $95, this was now 4- 1/2 hours later, I had a splitting headache before I arrived and I hadn't eaten anything all day (I'm diabetic & my blood sugar was low, because of the stress, too). Maria, you could have easily fixed it so that I would walk out of there happy with the color I chose. You told me that you would make my hair beautiful and that I would love it. Instead, you chose to humiliate me and pretend that my hair isn't red? Now I'm out $95 which I can't afford because I'm looking for a job and I can't color this again for awhile and cause even more damage?! My mother who is permanently disabled and confined to a wheelchair, sent me that money, her Social Security money! I chose to invest it in my hair because of my interviews this week! I can't afford to go somewhere else and fix this, this is your responsibility and your problem. Once I came home and looked up your reviews, I see I'm not the only person you did this too?! Also, I brought to your attention and your student's too, she didn't spread the new color on me properly, you told me you noticed too and you fixed it, well, you didn't, I now have uneven streaks in my hair too! I was livid but didn't want to make a scene, I prefer to avoid confrontation and calmly asked the student to take the cape off of me and I stormed out of there while Maria, the Instructor, was still trying to convince me that this color isn't red?! Why should I be forced to have my hair a different color than I paid for and expected??? Just because you think you should have control? What example are you setting for your students? I'm giving you one last chance to correct this; Once it is safe to treat my hair again, (next month?), you're going to strip the RED You're going to color my hair Dark Ash Blonde, which is the color I had when I walked into the salon.
