The location is not on the airport, as it was listed. They took took twice as long to pick us up as what we were told. Once we got to their location, we waited about 20 minutes for someone to help us. Then tried giving me a smaller car than I had requested. I told them I needed the bigger car because we had 5 people in our group. They tried convincing me that the smaller car would be fine. I refused and asked for the slightly larger car that was next to it to accommodate our group. They finally agreed. I told them I was in a hurry because I was trying to meet my husband before he went Into work that night. They took a very long time to switch the paperwork, then couldn't find the keys to the car. When they finally found them, they had concerns about a tire. So, they took it and aired it up. We finally took possession of the car but at that point it was too late to see my husband. (Which we should have had plenty of time for.). The next morning I went to the car to pick my husband up from work and the tire they had concerns about was completely flat. I called ace and the lady that answered told me she didn't have anyone to help me right now and told me I could change it myself. I told her it has been 20 years since I have changed a tire and I don't have any tools. She said all the cars have a spare. Well, mine did not. They finally sent someone out to help me. He was unable to get the tire to air up. He stated he would have to go get a new tire and put it on and as soon as he's finished he will call me. So, I wait, all day. Never got a call. I called them a little before 5 pm, and I had found the flat tire at 7:00 am, the lady who answered the phone says she was unsure if it was ready. She would have to call me back after asking someone else. She returned my call about 30 minutes later and said it was ready. When I checked the car back in, I asked them to take off the charge for the day I didn't have access to the car. The manager was rude & dismissive. She told me to take it up with Ace because that's who I booked through. That's a whole other thing, it's kind of a bait and switch. We booked through Ace, but it's actually called Olympic. My advice, stay away...

BEWARE. DO NOT RENT FROM HERE. They take advantage of you and tack on charges. Jeep was in bad condition when it was picked up. Exterior damage, interior was just as bad with the carpet peeling up. No matter, we figured it would get us around ok. In the end we dropped the Jeep off at the airport because we had an early flight. They forgot we were doing that and called, wondering where the Jeep was. I reminded them, gave the location of the Jeep and no communication after that. Checking over my credit card I saw i was incorrectly charged. Come to find out, WITHOUT EVEN CALLING ME, We were charged $150 for "excessive sand." There was no excessive sand in the vehicle. It's an island...with sand...there will be a little in the vehicle. We shook out the floor mats, made sure it looked good. I wasn't even provided with the pictures they say they had. They refused. This place is a scam. They take advantage of tourists. Stay far away.

I see quite a bit of Yelp angst with some lowly reviews for this establishment, and I must concur…read more It is poorly run, and the employees I met have a lot of attitude. I've rented here twice, and I'm unlikely to do so again. Here are some of the issues. It takes a long time to process one person, so if you're third in line, count on a 30 to 40 minute wait. When they finally complete the paperwork, they then hand you a multilayer form, to review your vehicle which is in the lot. That means, you then have to walk to the lot, note the preponderance of damages that adorn their mediocre vehicles, walk back to the counter, and hand them the form. Then, you are done. So third in line means a 40 to 50 minute wait. When I mentioned the laborious process, the woman responded curtly, "that's the way the process works." The car had so many issues, I circled every area of the car, citing dozens of dents, dings, scrapes and paint issues. Almost every panel had some type of issue. However, beyond these cosmetic issues, lies a more serious problem. The tires were balding and in bad shape. Most of the time the weather is good in St. Croix, but when it rains, this isn't the vehicle you want to use. The return was worse than the pickup, with the male attendant yelling at me, "Hey where are you going?", as I walked toward a small building that looked like the return center. And I responded that's where I was going. He then said something like, "well hold on, you don't go there, I handle the returns." Our conversation continued and not in a positive direction. In a rudeness race against the woman who process my paperwork, he wins for top rudeness. Suggestions that would help Budget: 1. I entered my information when I purchased online, if the systems aren't compatible, why doesn't Budget enter the info BEFORE people arrive. 2. Inspect the cars BEFORE people arrive, then it will take less time to document all the damages. 3. Use newer vehicles in good condition! 4. Replace bald tires. 5. Customer service training for your employees. Hey folks, politeness doesn't cost you a nickel and can deliver great dividends. We think St. Croix is a great island, but unfortunately Budget St. Croix is not a great rental operation. If you think I'm exaggerating about the condition of the vehicle, check out these photos!

We flew in to St Croix on Saturday 2/28/26. Through a 3rd party ( Economy Bookings) I prepaid for a…read moremonth 2/28-3-28. Economy Bookings has an App, sent me the voucher I needed to show Ace. When we called to be picked up, we were told there is no car. And there won't be a car until after the weekend. Today is March 3rd and silence. I have contacted my CC company and indicated that Ace and Economy bookings are in breach of contract. Even though my charge is almost 6 months old I am confident they will be charged back the entire amount and I will be refunded. My advice, stay away, never prepay that far in advance. They lied and were rude at Ace. Do Not rent from Ace. I also question Economy Bookings. I'm sure I'll never use them again. Paul I out one star rating but it's really a zero

Ace Car Rental has a habit of accepting reservations and then canceling the reservations without notice. This happened to us on 1/31/2026. We had booked a reservation three months in advance. Upon arrival to the airport, we were told that ACE did not have a reservation in our name. This was despite the fact that we had a reservation confirmation and had paid for the vehicle in full. I wish I had read these reviews before making a reservation with ACE Rent a Car. I can guarantee I will never use this company again.

I called back the next week, was strongly reprimanded for calling, and was told that I would receive a call when the item arrived. I asked why I was being yelled at and the individual calmed down significantly, but continued to speak in a stern tone. The third week, yesterday, I received a phone call and was told that the item would cost over $400 more than I was promised and that it had never been ordered. Yesterday evening I sent an email saying that I would like a refund and would be picking up the car. This afternoon, I called and asked if they had received my email. I was told that the email had been received and the car had been ready this morning along with a check. I explained that because of my schedule at this point in the day I would be unable to pick up the vehicle until tomorrow. I was yelled at and told that the vehicle had been made ready first thing this morning. I explained that I had not received a response to the email and did not know. The individual then yelled again and said they did not need to respond to the email. The conversation ended shortly afterward. Basically, I have been yelled at, provided with rude service, and lied to, and the repair I had been waiting for never got completed.
