The stadium is worth a look and there are many walking and cycling trails to explore. We walked all the way to Central Library along the Central Park area from the Stadium. read more
If you're ever in a city that was a host for the Olympics. You just see the Olympic stadium. The tours of the stadium are generally available and I was lucky enough to arrive in Helsinki during the Metallica M72 European tour. I couldn't NOT make an attempt to see the greatest metal band in an Olympic stadium. Which did not disappoint.

The stadium doesn't look very exciting from the outside, behind tall security fences. It's actually a really cool experience. Pay the few euros to go up in the tower and see Helsinki and sports complex from above. An hour should be plenty of time to check out the stadium and go up in the tower, however I did not visit the sports history museum portion. Side note: there is what appears to be a really nice hostel in the complex if you need somewhere to stay a night or two. read more
