I've had a tooth ache for a couple of days so I got a referral from my dentist. They told me over the phone the potential cost. When I went in I had to fill out the forms. The outer staff was very friendly and nice. They took me reasonably quickly. They took a 360 degree X-ray. Another specific X-ray of the specific tooth. Dr. Mah was GREAT! He told me I needed a root canal. I have to admit the when he pointed to the spot on the xray, I didn't see it, without my glasses I'm blind, but I didn't say anything. Anyway he went right to work. Lot's of anesthetic and there was no pain at all. But a lot of drilling. It took a long time - 45+ minutes. Keeping your mouth open that long caused some discomfort afterwards and when the anesthetic wore off I'm sore, but I took some Tylenol and it's feeing better. I was quite scared/nervous about the root canal. But having had it done, it was easy. I can highly recommend Olympia Endodontic Group. They're excellent professionals. Oh, and the cost was much less than the original estimate! read more

Do NOT go to Dr Mah. First root canal had no infection, so Dr Mah told me NOT to take the post surgery antibiotics he prescribed UNLESS I felt swelling?? Couple days later after massive pain, etc., when I called the office, the other Dr said I was SUPPOSED to be taking them to help with healing and swelling! Second root canal 2-3 months later, Dr Mah knowingly performed a root canal on an INFECTED tooth, then refused my request for antibiotics saying I did not need them, again, UNLESS I felt swelling?? Less than 24 hours later I was in ER with my face swollen, spent 3.5 days in ER and ICU as the infection spread thru my face down into my neck. Three and a half days in the hospital on antibiotics every 6 hours, and pain meds every 4-8 hours, and 5 days of husband's lost wages. read more

I was extremely nervous going in due to having an issue with another facility where dentist was not able to get me numb and was being to way to rough when giving the shots, which I have never had happen before. I let them know of my concerns and they were so nice! The assistant and the dentist went over exactly what they were going to do, keep asking me if I was okay and updating me throughout the processes! They even let my partner sit in there with me, which man me even more comfortable! The only thing I felt was a SLIGHT pinch during the first shot of anesthesia, which is expect, but other then that the experience was painless and exceeded my expectations when it came to customer service and comfort! Today was my second root canal at Olympia Endodontic Group. I am always impressed with the staff here. The front desk were understanding and kind. Dr. Mah and his assistant Jackie were amazing! I received exceptional support throughout the root canal procedure. Jackie made sure I was as comfortable as possible and Dr. Mah checked in repeatedly to make sure I was doing okay. I had my very first root canal yesterday. These guys were so great. I was in a lot of pain and when my dentist called them to get me an appointment, they fit me in fast. I cannot express how great full I was for that! I wish I could remember the assistants name. She was so nice, caring and considerate. Talked me through all the things she was going to do before the doctor came in. Dr. Raj Rohila, was awesome. It took a lot of extra numbing agent to get things rolling. That was one angry nerve. But he was kind, gentle and has a good sense of humor. They definitely took the anxiety out of the dark cloud called root canal. If you are ever in need of a root canal, I'd highly recommend them. I was extremely apprehensive about the anesthetic working, Dr. Rohila kindly reassured me he wouldn't proceed unless he was certain I couldn't feel a thing, and I didn't feel a thing! My experience here with Dr. Mah was the worst I have ever had - with any medial professional and in any medical field.... EVER. It was SO BAD that I am writing this review nine years after my experience with Dr. Mah. Nine years where I have been dealing with such intense PTSD that I have never actually had the procedure done. A procedure that I needed desperately nine years ago, and now need even more desperately. But because of my experience at this office - I cannot bring myself to even call another practitioner to set up a consultation appointment. Dr. Mah has the worst bedside manner and does not listen to his patients regarding their concerns or hesitations about the procedures. Case in point: During my initial consultation with Dr. Mah I explained to him my severe needle phobia. Which was not only an issue regarding the novocain (which I can usually manage to breathe through with only minimal tears shed), but also with the harvesting of tissue from my mouth AND reattaching said tissue to my gumline. I asked that I be put under or given a sedative for the procedure. His response was, "Oh, you don't need that." I insisted several times and even asked about the possibility of using donor tissue. His response was, "Oh, you'll be fine." I tried pressing a few more times, but he continually brushed off my concerns and my requests and told me to schedule with the front desk. Fast forward to the day of my procedure. I ask again if he's sure that he can't give me something. Yet another brush off. First novocain.... breathing. breathing. tear. breathing. Second novocain.... breathing. breathing. breathing. tear. Third novo..... panic. Wait - are you putting that needle in the ROOF of my mouth? You didn't numb it first. He puts some topical gel on the roof of my mouth. Waits two minutes. Goes to reinsert the needle in the roof of my mouth. I can feel the pressure as he goes to insert it deeper. And that's when all hell breaks loose. I vaguely remember screaming. The room going black. Unable to breathe. Sobbing. Heaving for air. The assistant is trying to calm me down. Dr. Mah is just staring at me. I try to regain as much composure as I can so that he can keep going. I'm already here and already numb - I want to get this over with. I manage to calm enough so that he can try again, but the second I see that needle coming towards me I break down into a crying fit again. Dr. Mah leaves the room and lets the assistant deal with me. They won't be doing the procedure. But I should reschedule and come back in a week again. Oh, hell no. The assistant even told me on my way out that they were considering calling an ambulance because of my panic attack. While Dr. Mah may be great at what he does - he clearly has no respect for his patients and does not understand that he's treating human beings. I happen to be a human being that knows myself very well. And this entire issue could have been avoided had he listened.... and taken my wishes into consideration. The worst part is that the Dentist who referred me to him asked why he didn't prescribe me Valium before my appointment - that it is common practice for a procedure like I was having and that she knows he has prescribed it for patients previously. It could have all been avoided if he had listened to me in the first place. Now, here I sit nine years later, still having massive anxiety + PTSD about an issue that should have been fixed already - the first time. If you want a practitioner that cares about you in any way - as more than just a mouth and a paycheck - I highly recommend you go somewhere else. read more

Both went to great lengths to inform me of each step they were taking, and made sure I was always comfortable. The two young ladies at reception were also amazing and provided stellar customer service. I received excellent care from Dr. Mah and the hygienist (Jackie?). I had to have root canal retreatment, through a crown, due to infection. I was terrified I would lose the tooth. I was terrified of the pain due to severe TMJ. They both worked with me to ease the anxiety and I felt no pain. It was almost an enjoyable experience. I have zero to little pain the day after my root canal, it was quick/easy during the procedure, I was shaking like a deer I was so scared during the numbing process, and was easily calmed by the assistant before the procedure started feeling much more relaxed. Felt no pain whatsoever during the procedure, and 10x more relieved afterwards then when I walked in. Again had a referral to check on a tooth. Yes, anxiety with dental work is high for me!! I was disappointed that Dr. Tripp is on a semi-retirement (semi only because they keep trying to get him to come back!!)
