Upon arrival, it wasn't completely clear to me whether or not they were associated with the hotel, but my husband later pointed out that their rates were slightly less per day. We paid $69/night for a total of two nights when the hotel's valet service is $72/night. Both options offer in and out privileges. Our experience was decent. We didn't have any issues during our stay and the parking attendants were kind and helpful. On our last day, we came down prior to our check-out time to inquire about having our car brought down for us to place our luggage inside before having the car re-parked. The attendant asked when we'd like the car to be there and assured us that it would be ready. That wasn't the case. When we arrived at the pre-arranged time, our car wasn't there and chaos had ensued. That was the chaos that we were attempting to avoid. They brought our car down in the next 5 minutes or so, so in the end it wasn't that much of an inconvenience.

The staff is beyond amazing. I knew everyone who worked at the front desk and they knew every resident. The maintenance staff was also amazing, super responsive and did an amazing job keeping everything working. The amenities in the building are a huge plus. The pool and roof deck were always relatively empty and I never had an issue with parties or people being disrespectful. The gym itself isn't huge but again it never was overcrowded and served its purpose. The parking garage has 2 entrances and is wide enough for cars to easily get by and big enough spaces. It feels very homey here and is a great place for children/pets and people who want to be somewhere quiet. The park nearby is awesome and you don't get much traffic. I miss this place everyday and would live here again in a heartbeat.

Then you will walk down a hallway past the mailboxes to the elevators. My friend had a one bedroom apartment. The layout was nice if not compact, but my friend was happy with it. He especially liked how close it was to downtown Arlington Heights. From the hallway you could hear the neighbors being noisy but you couldn't hear from inside the apartment.

During the prime times or when someone is moving in you are reduced to long wait times which is annoying. The laundry facility although newer still does not clean the clothing and it smells when it comes out. Even fabric beads does not help. I suspect being high efficiency its a lack of water issue in the machine as the clothing barely feels wet coming out of it. My dishwasher never came close to cleaning the dishes even after pre washing them first. Another selfish and dangerous practice is the building manager parking her vehicle blocking the loading and unloading ramp that effects the elderly and handicapped people along with parking full time in the fire lane that is used for a ladder truck to set up and rescue people off balconies during an emergency. This was brought to her attention several times and she did not care enough for the tenants or elderly to move her vehicle. Entitled I guess and not setting a good example for others. Here's the big deal killer. The building is loaded with cell towers on various sides with some being 5G networks. One set of towers was located above my balcony and bedroom. These were installed secretly and tenants were lied to about what was happening. Myself and my dog began experiencing many health concerns that never happened to me prior. I hired a Midwest expert to measure the EMF waves and they were off the chart on her testing equipment. She stated she has never measured readings that high and suggested I move immediately. To be fair to the new owners purchased the building with the towers already installed. I relocated to a new building with no cell towers and could not be happier.

Within months, the building was facing another lawsuit from its former property manager, who alleged she was wrongfully terminated following an intense internal power struggle. The board then descended into political chaos. Factions formed, accusations were hurled, and anonymous mass emails circulated in an effort to influence owners. The consequences reached far beyond internal disagreements. Conventional financing became unavailable for a period, leaving owners with a severely restricted buyer pool and preventing prospective purchasers from financing units through ordinary channels. A failure of that magnitude reflects serious problems across the association, the board, management, and the people entrusted with protecting the property and its owners. Even apart from the governance issues, the building has a tradeoff that prospective residents should understand. The public supermarket is extremely convenient, but it also draws substantial outside traffic into and around the property. This becomes especially noticeable during busy summer days when visitors are coming from the lakefront and nearby parks. Teenagers and other members of the public sometimes wander farther into the building, which can make the environment feel less private and uncomfortable. The building itself is beautifully designed, many residents seem pleasant, and the staff members appear friendly and professional. Unfortunately, the record of the board, management, and those in control tells a very different story. Their actions speak for themselves.

For those looking to purchase a unit in this building, I just moved out and wanted to give my…read moreliving experience to those who are interested. Purchasing a unit is not only expensive, but it is a 5-7 commitment. The building was built in the 1960s. In order for the billing to stand as it does, it has to have air constantly flowing through it. You will hear while you're waiting to get onto the elevators the air from the outside, sounding almost like a hurricane, while waiting for an elevator. I had air in my unit all the time. The unit that I purchased was not level and there were lots of times when I felt the building was leaning. My guests would come into my building and state that they felt it too. On very windy days, you may get stuck in the elevator. Another resident with myself got stuck in the elevator together. We were told to bang on the door to try to get it to move so that the elevator would move. This was a very scary experience. Processes are dated as well. There are lots of units in this building and the mail room only has one person taking care of all the packages for the entire building. This created problems with residents getting other residents packages. And getting your packages in a timely manner. Carts, that were provided for the residents to use were all broken. You will hear screams from the Ferris wheel and bands playing at the pier since the building is right next to it. You will also hear fog horns from the boats. If you like the lake, the Lakeview was very nice. At least during the day because at night it was pitch black unless your unit faced the pier. If you purchase a parking spot, which I did, there was a problem with entry into the parking garage as they placed valet directly in front of the door to get in to the garage. Those that are trying to get in and park were asked to wait until the parking attendant valeted the cars that wanted to be valeted. When asked to address this, their remedy was to enter the exit door of the garage if a car was blocking the door to the entrance. There are a lot of buildings in Chicago that are old, but they are constantly kept up and their processes are constantly updated. This is not one of those places. Something that you would not know unless you lived there personally. Buyer beware.
