But at last week's periodic dental appointment her luck ran out and immediate removal was ordered. However her regular dental office could not give her a Periodontist consultation until almost TWO months.....and after that ( in middle of the holidays) who knows when they'd schedule the actual extraction?? In this case of a really senior citizen I saw a possible matter of Life and death if infection spread to her sinuses or eventual septicemia. Fortunately her clinic gave me phone references of some oral surgery clinics. The first one I called didn't treat patients over 85. BUT we were SO fortunate that the Center for Oral and Facial Surgery offered her an immediate appointment !! Literally I called about 1 pm Friday and they offered mom a spot at 930 the following Monday!!!!! And this wasn't just a pre- operative consultation...but the actual extraction. Her luck continued getting DR. TAYLOR.... young, sharp and current with modern dental practices. He also handled mom really well psychologically to adjust his technique when she refused sedation at the last minute to only want local lidocaine numbing. In total the procedure took about 20 minutes! And I felt the pricing was very reasonable for the HIGH QUALITY of Dr Taylor's EXCELLENT care. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this excellent practice!

Dr Machado performed a double jaw surgery on me in 2012 - thirteen years ago. I really haven't been able to put into words that he completely changed my entire life. I cannot express enough gratitude and thanks for being able to live the last 13 years happy with my face, after hating looking in the mirror for my entire life prior. Dr Machado is the single most pivotal person in my life after my family. No longer having my appearance be a daily negative factor in my life is best gift I could have ever received. Dr. Machado and his office fought hard for my parents to get the surgery approved through insurance, made a critical last minute decision to go for double jaw surgery instead of having to do two as originally planned, which was so amazing. He was available during my after care and I always felt like I was in good hands and that he was available should I ever need him... which I did a couple years later. My favorite experience was a year or so later when I came back in to get a screw removed - Dr Machado looked at my face and said something to the effect of "I could lowered the top teeth slightly more" - which is something I had considered in passing. I am more than thrilled with my face, its an absolute success by every measure and by any other doctor would be considered 'perfect' - but I am even more appreciative that Dr. Machado cares down the millimeters and scrutinizes your face just as much or more as you do. He is a true artist and a perfectionist. When you undergo this type of surgery you need to have someone you can trust with your appearance, especially in the trying times when you have to wait months to a year for the final result. I have lived a life of severe dental anxiety causing me to not see a dentist for decades. This is upselling and it's an incredible annoying cheap ploy for a dentist to compensate what insurance does not cover. The office of Dean Nguyen isn't like that - they're old school. They make sure my teeth are healthy, thoroughly examined, and properly cleaned. No added b.s. that I never asked for. All the staff here are great to work with. Diana was my hygienist recently, and she clearly enjoys her job and working with patients. As so many others here have stated, I highly recommend and endorse this dental office.

I even searched for another doctor to take her in. But after a lot of thought and talking to my daughter's dentist I decided to go ahead and take her in the day of her surgery. I was nervous because my daughter was having all of her wisdom teeth's removed and 2 extra tooth's that she had very deep. The day of the surgery we got there early in the morning before 8:00am. We waited 10 minutes when someone showed up, she was very respectful and nice she told us she was going through the back and open in a bit. After probably 2 minutes she opened the door we checked in and did all the check in process, they prescribed her antibiotic, pain medicine, anti-inflammatory and nausea medecine I was very impressed because my oldest daughter had oral surgery two years prior and the surgeon who did her surgery didn't prescribe everything they prescribed for my daughter this time. At around 8:30am they called her in, I went in with her and said "bye" to her because obviously no one is allowed at the surgical area, after a few hours the nurse came out and told me she was ready and to pick her up at the back parking. I went to grab my car and drove to the designated area and a few minutes later a nurse came out with my daughter in a wheelchair. She looked very good for someone who just had oral surgery. After her surgery in the evening Doctor Podstreleny i think that's how you spell his name called me to ask how my daughter was doing I was very impressed and happy because I was able to asked him any doubts I had. The next day a nurse from his office called me again and asked how she was doing and I was very pleased because I knew they care about patients. After 4 days of her surgery she was doing so well she didn't have that much inflammation very little pain and no nauseas. A little over a week has passed and she's doing excellent she looks like nothing has been done to her. I'm VERY HAPPY I took her here to get her oral surgery. Before ending here she was referred to 2 other different places and the doctors told me they couldn't do her surgery because it was complicated. While I understand that insurance eligibility can change and needs to be verified before an appointment, the way the situation was handled was unprofessional. As we tried to understand why it had not been caught earlier, she became visibly annoyed, rolled her eyes, and returned my husband's ID by sliding/slamming it back across the counter. We remained respectful and immediately offered to pay for the consultation out of pocket. Despite repeatedly confirming that we wanted to proceed and pay for the appointment, we were continually asked if we wanted to reschedule instead. We were also repeatedly reminded about the card processing fee even after acknowledging it and agreeing to pay. The dentist may provide good care, but the customer service we received at the front desk left a very negative impression. A little professionalism, patience, and courtesy would have gone a long way.

Everyone prepared me for the possibility of pain and discomfort once the anesthesia wore off. However, after the oral surgery, my son took a five-hour nap and woke up as if nothing had happened; no pain, no side effects, and no complications at all. I was honestly amazed. My teenager even expressed that he was expecting the worst, but he did not feel any pain, even days afterward. Dr. Paul is also extremely responsible of his work and compassionate with his patients. He personally called afterward to check on how my son was feeling, which tells a lot about him. During our follow-up consultation, he took the time to answer every question thoroughly and explain everything from a professional perspective.
