Epic failure on my part. Carefully consider whether you want to hire this company. It is with great…read moretrepidation and uncertainty that one embarks on a search for a roofer. The costs are high, the work is challenging and the end results are unknown. So due diligence is paramount in this quest. As it turns out, I put in the work, took several bids and made my choice. I went with Tadlock Roofing and while the result in the end was satisfactory, I can't help but think I might have done much better. I will cover the good first and then the bad. The good. The sales person was very personable, her manager was very knowledgeable and I felt at ease and comfortable. All my questions were answered and I felt confident that I could go forward with enough information to compare their product to others and make a reliable decision. The product was of good quality and promised to last a great many years. The Mexican installation crew were focused, speedy, professional, jovial and detail oriented. They worked carefully in order to limit any surrounding damage to plants and property. The post work clean up was encouraging since the ground was covered in debris and nails and I have grandkids who play out there. They were meticulous in their efforts to leave the yard safe and clean. Now, the less positive aspects. Those friendly faces that promised to be with you every step of the way, did a vanishing act. The half dozen or more documents you are forced to sign that release Tadlock of any responsibility should ANY damage be done to the home or surrounding area felt downright menacing and impart a feeling of helpless doom. A huge laundry list of things for which they would take no responsibility, a virtual cornicopia of small print to indemnify themselves was extremely worrisome. Shingle delivery workers who ignored my many many requests to spread the shingles weight on my roof for safety, downright aloof and nasty was their attitude. The delays in schedule were abundant. Leaving the heavy shingles on the roof an extra week. They left the roofing plywood on the ground in the yard to get wet from the rain for nearly a week. A dumpster sitting in the driveway an extra day. The gutter work was not even scheduled until the roof was completed for more than a week and then days went by without any contact or word regarding the installation. And remembrr those smiling faces promising to be with you every step of the way, still missing. Found out later that Mr. Tadlock sold his business to a national company that fired about 80 employees in our state and closed one or more locations. The girl who came to our house in the beginning was gone. The manager now splitting time between Tampa and Sarasota. It's all downhill from here, with all the cost cutting the company is making, the skeleton crew that is left, it would be wise to consider carefully whether you want to hire this once great company. To be fair, in the end over 2 months later I did have a new roof and gutters. It was quality product and MY installation crew was awesome. Viva Mexico. There are several crews however, you have to make sure you get a good one.

The place looked completely new, and I couldn't be happier with the result. I've also found that pricing wise they were extremely reasonable compared to other contractors/ construction crews I've hired in the past. Good value, good quality, and very pleasant people to work with. Would highly recommend! Thanks to you and your team Art. Extremely grateful

The gentleman did not seem in the best of moods and after going halfway up the ladder and looking at my roof, he complained that the roof was too steep for him, and he was not going to do the job... Apparently he had injured himself on a previous work site. He verbally quoted me what it would cost to repair, put his ladder in the truck and left. If I were to say they were here for a total of five minutes that would be generous. This was the first roofer I've ever met who didn't want to go on the roof of a one story home. I hired Danny Mills Handyman. We are experts in our trade and will do our best to keep you as educated as we can on your particular task or project.' I have just experienced their 'reliability, communication, education, etc.' and would love to pass on that experience. I have a leaky spigot. I bought a new one on Amazon and needed it replaced. However, the old spigot had paint on it. He comes out to the house, analyzes the situation, quotes me a price which I didn't think was enough and I said that. I told him what I would pay which was more than he offered. He discovered that the wrench wasn't big enough to replace the spigot so he offered to come back the next day to work on said spigot. I explained that I had to work but I'd leave the gate unlocked and where the new spigot and check would be. Didn't hear anything so I texted from work. There was a family emergency and he said he would be out tomorrow. After a few convos, he apologizes because he got me confused with someone else. He sent a text that he would be out shortly. I didn't get that text til later but anywho, they show up just as I get home from work. I was told it would take only a few minutes. I said that I had just got home from work and I had to let my dogs out to tinkle so please let me know when the job is done. They didn't. I note they are gone at 3:23 PM. My water is not turned on. I text and no answer. I call and no answer. The check is gone and the new spigot is on. They left their cig butts and plumber's tape near the spigot. I look a tad closer and sure enough, they tore up the copper piping. I now have no water and it's a holiday weekend. I put a stop payment on the check but why would these jerks just leave? Did they not think I would find out? I should have read the reviews but it was just a spigot, you know? It's a shame because I had plenty more jobs for him to do. I now have to hire someone else and take this guy and his buddy to small claims court. Heavy sigh. Fast forward, Kids and I now have 1 donated cig butt, 1 donated half used roll of plumber's tape, a hole in my wall, a new welded copper pipe and water. To the tune of $174.07. Why Danny and his side kick would leave anyone without water over a holiday weekend is beyond my realm of understanding. What if I had been on a catheter or had a colostomy? What if I had been handicapped, in a w/c and couldn't drive somewhere for water? I hope you and yours rot in hell.
